This claim is self-evidently absurd: Obsession was made several years before the 2008 campaign, and contains no exhortations to vote for anyone. It is also quite revealing that they think -- and don't seem to care if their actions make anyone else think -- that to distribute an anti-jihad terror film is to agitate for one candidate over another, which is tacitly admitting that one candidate would not fight against jihad terror.

WASHINGTON — The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has urged the IRS to investigate the distribution of more than 20 million "anti-Muslim" DVDs to see if the distributor, the Clarion Fund, has violated its tax-exempt status.The producers of the film, "Obsession: Radical Islam's War Against the West," say it will "change the way you look at the world." It was delivered to homes as a newspaper insert.
"Independent observers have suggested that the distribution of the DVD was an obvious attempt by the Clarion Fund to participate in campaign activities and intervene in the 2008 presidential election," CAIR said.
The film was distributed after the Labor Day start of the election season, and 95% of the papers that carried the DVD were in swing states. CAIR has asked the IRS to strip the Clarion Fund of its tax-exempt status if it finds evidence of wrongdoing.
"A non-profit group's tax-exempt status should not be misused to promote political candidates or to influence the outcome of an election," said Nihad Awad, CAIR executive director....
Foreign thugs who fund CAIR have likely expressed how deeply concerned they are about facts presented in OBSESSION undermining years of very expensive long term "Islam is Peace" propaganda.
CAIR is simply responding to some sharply expressed foreign pressure.

Why would the IRS even give the CAIR request the time of day? It's a waste of taxpayers money to investigate frivolous claims. CAIR is basing its opinion on wishful thinking since 'intent' to interfere in the election will be very hard to prove....It is attempting to use the IRS as an attack dog...
This request should lead to an investigation of CAIR because they might be attempting to interfere with the election themselves...only CAIR and Obama's candidacy would benefit from Clarion's loss of non profit tax status over the distribution of this film...
I wonder what Obama thinks of this film? Has he seen it? Does he know about this distribution? What does he think? What does he have to say?

Will CAIR's complaint to investigate Obsession go anywhere? Maybe so.
But see how easy it is to get the IRS's attention by the act of writing a letter complaint.
For any one who lives in a district/town where mosques engage in partisan campaigning as described above, please start a letter campaign of your own complaining of these tactics. Send a copy to the local U.S. Attorney's Office, local Congressmen and 2 Senators.
If CAIR can get the FBI to move, so can lowly un-PC infidels who object to the duplicity of CAIR.
For a civil-rights organization, CAIR has questionable movites, objectives and funding-objectives.
CAIR should first demonstrate compliance with US constitution and laws. IRS should audit CAIR for it's funding sources, funds recieved and spent. Then, CAIR should demonstrate it's motivation / interest in protecting convicted felons like Sami Al-Arian, Megahead etc.
And the Americans (?) United for Seperation of Church and State is doing the same thing....asking the IRS to revoke the tax exempt status of six christian churcheshere in America.......because they spoke against Obama.... whats the difference...?

You're right--Muslims do have a tendency to project their own crimes onto innocent parties.
Muslims are very afraid of this film, they are also angry that it was distributed to 28 mil homes.It's not just CAIR that is agitated. The reaction at "The American Muslim" has been hysterical with rants against the film being written almost every day.The Clarion group reported in an recent article that donations to their group have risen "sharply" since the Obsession distribution began. Obviously people are responding positively to the film and want to help the Clarion group to continue educating the American people about Islam.The reaction to Obsession by Muslims is also informative.I'm sure most Americans have noticed that while Muslims are outraged about the distribution of "Obsession" they are not as upset about the hateful words spoken by Muslims in the film.
Yes, CAIR does not want this film to be seen by any non-Muslim. An active agenda against it, namely the entire staged Dayton mosque incident berlies that truth.
