Islam was born in the desert. Thus the modern, Western notion that "deserted" and desolate regions are "safe" should be adjusted in regards to the habitation of Islamic terrorists.
"Al-Qaeda desert base looks abandoned, but is it?" from AFP, October 18:
AL-UDAIM DESERT, Iraq (AFP) — Wrecks of old vehicles. Passing Bedouins herding emaciated goats. And as far as the eye can see, a dusty, beige, lunar landscape.Waiting for the Medinan days, so they can implement the verses revealed during that period of Islamic superiority, i.e., the good old days when subjugating infidels, without any apologetics, was feasible. The Al-Udaim desert is one of the last refuges in Iraq of Al-Qaeda fighters, who the US army and Iraqi authorities say are increasingly on the defensive.[...]
"They are finished, period. The ones who haven't been killed are in disarray. The last ones are wandering hungry in the desert," Colonel Mohammed Khaled Abdelhamid, chief of police in Dhuluiyah, told AFP.
The "Arab" fighters, a reference to the non-Iraqi fighters who spread terror in the region and have assassinated hundreds of civilians [i.e., jihadists], have gone away, Abdelhamid says.
Their local supporters, once very numerous, are keeping quiet, waiting for better days.
"The only one left is him", the police chief said, calling up on his mobile phone a picture of a smiling 30-year old in Arab head-dress -- Khaled Habib al-Juburi, the last local Al-Qaeda leader known to be still alive.A visit to Al-Udaim still involves an impressive escort of around a dozen Hummer vehicles, each crowned with a 14.5 mm machine gun.
Only two months ago, however, the district was completely inaccessible. Al-Qaeda fighters had made it their holiday camp, a little "caliphate" serving as a rest and recuperation centre, though many of their victims ended up abandoned to the vultures.[...]
"The last time I saw men from Al-Qaeda go by was two months ago," said Salah Saif Iasem, his tanned skin contrasting with the immaculate white of his dishdasha robe.
"They leave us in peace," the Bedouin added. Have the jihadists really been "wiped out" as the authorities claim? "I don't think they've gone very far..."
We're seeing a bit of a light at the end of the tunnel as far as violent terrorism committed in the name of Islam is concerned. The ideological battle against the global Islamist movement has only just begun.
Now come the Iranians.
We need to be careful. Complacency has killed many more people than vigilence has...

Those who supported the jihadists are waiting for better days? This doesn't suggest they don't believe in jihad or never supported the Islamists. Is this supposed to inspire confidence?
US - OUT OF IRAQ - NOW!
"Islam was born in the desert."
If you are ambitious, what else is there to do in the desert to "make a living" except rob and loot passers-by--that is, pirating against caravans passing through? When you get bored doing that, just follow the caravans to the oases (like Khaybar) and loot them. And when that fails to satisfy, rob the communities on the edge of the desert. And then plunder the lands beyond.
Islam is just an excuse to conduct piracy. And don't forget, Mohammed gets 20% of any loot. Also don't forget that the women are part of the loot to be passed around according to Mohammed's whim.
It's a bug's life, and Mohammedans are the grasshoppers.
If you are ambitious, what else is there to do in the desert to "make a living" except rob and loot passers-by--that is, pirating against caravans passing through?
You pioneer the most modern agricultural methods and make that desolate sandscape bloom. You build beautiful cities to which people flock. You then build a fantastic society and one of the best, if tiny, militaries, you earn more PhDs and Nobel Prizes per capita than any other country, and you invent great stuff that we all take for granted like the polio vaccine, the cameraphone, seamless underdrawers, the last 4 Windows platforms, tons of medical and intelligence technology, etc., etc., etc.,. But that's if you're an ape/pig. If you're a Muslim you raid caravans, kill people, and have sex with your cousin.
People - YOu know the Elmhurst College Mohammedan fraud down a few threads? Well, it's got a lot of comments, so I'm posting this here.
This is a column from "The Leader," the school paper. It's absolutely shocking to see the Christian students falling all over themselves in delight while a Muslim women speaker tells them all about the Glorious Qur'an. You must read it - the Christian students abasing themselves to total lies is a disgusting sight. Oh boy could RS take on this propagandist:
http://www.elmhurst.edu/~leader/news/muslimwoman.html you know the Elmhurst College
Sorry for some typos above. I'm tired and disgusted.
Jdamm,
You're funny! I could use your stinging wit up here along US 231, in "P" country.
jdamn,
Vis-a-vis the desert, it's not fair to compare 7th century grasshoppers (at the dawn of Islam) to 20th century ape/pigs.
But I'm sure your argument would still work with 7th century ape/pigs. So, good point.
Stendec
just living in a desert doesn't mean that people *have* to live like Mohammed the sand pirate (i.e. like violent parasites).
The native Australians - those who lived in the Simpson Desert, which they called 'mikiri nganha' ('the country of wells'), in the Tanami, in the Great Western Desert, in and around Lake Eyre in one of the harshest and most difficult environments on earth - did not live like Mohammedans.
They had (and have) a rich tradition of music, dance and representational art - both of which, upon encountering western instruments and western materials and traditions, responded with enormous creativity. Today, Australia's desert artists are world-famous.
They had customs that were cruel, but those customs were nowhere near as bad as anything the Muslims do - and unlike the Muslims they were very, very careful to *not* marry their close relatives. Indeed, their traditional kin and marriage system seems to have been set up so as to maintain and maximise genetic diversity, and to promote co-operation and alliances across a wide area. The kinds of marriages Muslims routinely engage in - man's daughter to his full brother's son - would have been viewed, by Australian Aborigines, with utter horror, as tantamount to full brother-full sister incest.
The system of song lines - which stretch for thousands of miles across inhospitable country - served as ceremonial linkages between widely separated groups.
Warfare was carefully limited and highly ritualised. And the religious beliefs were set up so as to make theft of territory, at least, literally unthinkable: the land owned *you* rather than the other way around, the language you spoke came out of that land, if you entered strange country uninvited and unguided by its proper inhabitants you would not be able to communicate with it and you would almost certainly incur the wrath of hostile spirits and meet a bad end (talk about a belief system geared to discourage invasion and trespass!). There *was* an elaborate 'diplomatic protocol' allowing for the free passage of messengers and storytellers, and for reciprocal visits between neighbours, to their hunting-and-gathering-grounds - but woe betide those who reneged on their Agreements.
Many European explorers remarked on the way in which people would leave their personal property behind, in full view, unattended in their camps - seemingly quite confident that others would leave it alone.
If the Arab/ Islamic worldview is characterised by splitting/ division/ violent aggression, the Aboriginal worldview is strongly marked by concepts of co-operation/ connection - which, if you stop and think about it, is just as good an adaptive strategy as (or even better than) the former, for surviving in a really tough environment. Co-operation and creativity is the path the Hebrews chose...
Piracy, aggression, violence, is not *required* in order to survive in a desert. Co-operation, reciprocity, creativity, can be just as effective.
Of course, too, Stendec, it's very likely that the heartlands of arab/ised Islam, Arabia itself, North Africa, the Levant, Persia, Anatolia, Afghanistan - were not quite the deserts that they are now. They were dry, yes; somewhat marginal; but they weren't a howling wasteland. The state they are now in is, I think, largely due to the effect of over 1000 years of deliberate, spectacular Muslim vandalism and abuse.
North Africa used to be the breadbasket of Rome. Byzantine 'Palestine', the land of Israel, was flourishing, fertile, thickly populated; its ecology, agriculture and human population simply collapsed, and went on collapsing, spiralling downward, in the centuries of Muslim dominion which was marked, as Parkes puts it, by "the ceaseless passage of armies" and by a level of misgovernment that boggles the mind.
Spain, Greece, the Balkans are still, I think, scarred physically, environmentally, by the centuries of Muslim occupation. Everywhere they went, Muslims in jihad and then in their never-ending internecine strife would destroy towns, villages, farmland, even poisoning wells; the Taliban in Afghanistan deliberately burned standing crops and chopped down orchards of trees in fruit, in sheer spite against the owners of the orchards who had resisted their rule.
Care to wonder how long it would take to get a citrus or a stonefruit orchard up and running, from scratch, after something like that has happened, in a soil and a climate like that of Afghanistan? If it happened more than once, in the end, you'd just give up trying, stop replanting, lie down and die or go somewhere else - and that's what happened, over and over, throughout the Islamosphere, and productivity went relentlessly down, down, down...
When farmers, planters and tenders of trees, builders - cannot live in peace - when they are exploited, terrorised, periodically mass murdered, taxed to death - then over time, the land itself, with no-one to look after it, withers. The rain goes away, with the trees. The soil erodes.
Pakistan (which includes the valley and delta of the Indus) and Bangladesh (which occupies the rampantly fertile valley and delta of the Ganges-Brahmaputra conjunction) are ruinously poor; and I'll *bet* that the land itself is degrading precisely as the countries become progressively more 'Islamic'.
And think what happened in Timor Lorosae, when the Indonesian Muslims were forced to leave. They killed and raped the people on a grand scale , and smashed and burned every bit of living and nonliving infrastructure they could get at. I think if they could have managed to murder every last person in the place, and reduce everything in it to dust (like Darth Vader obliterating the planet Alderaan, in Star Wars I), they would have done so without hesitation.
Islam, historically, appears to have fostered not just the mentality of the simple robber/ pirate, who will steal someone else's house or car or horse because he wants it, but the mentality of the arsonist, the destroyer-for-the-sake-of-destruction, for whom burning someone else's house down, or wrecking the car, or hamstringing and then shooting the horse, is even more fun than stealing it.
duh-swami might like to remark on this...I don't know a lot about the occult, and am (as a Christian) wary of it; but it strikes me that the blasphemous and extreme destructiveness of Islam could be compared to the practices of black magicians.
Maybe that's why Islam zeroes in so obsessively on the Jews...because the more Life and creativity something has, the more (perverse) Power to be gained from...destroying it.
Three Deserts (1936) - British High Commissioner of Sinai, Sir Claude Jarvis
Commenting on the above, and the prevalence of utter despotism throughout the mohammedan cultures, Tom Bethell said:
The mother of all rights; without secure property, the Islamic world can't escape tyranny and stagnation====================
Evil is the hatred of the good for being good.
Paraphrase: Ayn Rand
dumbledoresarmy...There are a couple of hadith that say that Mohammad was doing ritual to 'invoke' evil onto the Jews.
That would be an acts of black magick.
The word 'invoke' is questionable because invoking means to take the qualities you are conjuring into yourself. Evoking is trying to bring some entity into physical manifestation. It's more like Mohammad was trying to project evil onto the Jews, and hoped it would sink in.
Deliberately invoking evil is not a wise thing to do. But if you are intently wishing harm to another, that 'is' what you are doing. The least that can do is give you ulcers.
I don't really know what Mohammad was doing,
but whatever it was he was up to no good.
I just realized that I could write a book on what
I know, and what I think I know, about Islams magical connections, sexual symbolism, and especially how this works out in dramatic ritual.
But there is already two books out on these subjects, The Quran, and Ahadith.
Allah beat me to it...he always does... :)
Dumbedoresarmy,
You said, "Piracy, aggression, violence, is not *required* in order to survive in a desert."
I believe that I conceded that point already to jdamn--the "apes/pigs" don't and didn't behave that way.
In any case, I enjoyed your post, as always. Thanks. I wonder if the Islamists down under are making any progress convincing the native Australians that they are really Muslims? Maybe Mohammed will turn those natives into desert pirates, yet. I don't expect so, and I certainly hope not.
The Arab is not the son of the desert. The Arab is the father of the desert...
Where Islam goes,
the desert grows,
and blood flows.
"The mother of all rights; without secure property, the Islamic world can't escape tyranny and stagnation"
They didn't live in a desert but this is pretty much the course followed by the USSR. People with no stake in something will not work to keep it up or make it better. It's the course of socialism as well as Mohammedanism.
China remains, for all intents and purposes, a dictatorship but the people were given a stake in its future. We see the results in just twenty years. China modified its state religion. Can Islamic countries do the same? Granted, socialism is much younger than Islam but are Muslims totally incapable of change? Is the Koran a crutch or is it a stake in the ground?
Here's a fantastic rundown of superstition in Islam by Abul Kasem: http://www.islam-watch.org/AbulKasem/IslamicVoodoos/
Like all of his stuff, it's a whole book for free online. He does his homework and he presents it in a very palatable way. You'll read it in one sitting. It's absolutely fascinating. It doesn't just deal with superstition. It also takes on all the crazy rituals, which, when not drawn out in a huge fiqh tome like the Reliance of Traveler, are so obviously absurd as to be hilarious. My favorite section would probably be 'Taking Care of Your Islamic Penis:' http://www.islam-watch.org/AbulKasem/IslamicVoodoos/Part11.htm#_Toc204737324
Dumbedoresarmy,
I've been thinking a lot about your comments on the psychology of the Mohammedans, in particular the following: "Islam, historically, appears to have fostered not just the mentality of the simple robber/ pirate, who will steal someone else's house or car or horse because he wants it, but the mentality of the arsonist, the destroyer-for-the-sake-of-destruction, for whom burning someone else's house down, or wrecking the car, or hamstringing and then shooting the horse, is even more fun than stealing it."
Islam defines wealth in this world as a reward that Allah bestows on those who fight for him--that is, wealth is not something that comes from personal or collective industry. (And as an aside, you mentioned Australian desert dwellers participating in art and song--since these activities are not "fighting for Allah," they are a waste of time and therefore forbidden activities).
When those who strive to build and create--all the while ignoring Allah and his rules--become wealthy and prosperous, they have insulted Allah by openly contradicting his revelations to humanity about how success is achieved. Therefore, that wealth is ill-gotten, and must be destroyed. Muslims, as the agents of Allah, score additional points with him by looting and wrecking the infidels "false world."
I am not a psychology guy, but I recall reading somewhere (perhaps at JW) that a psychotic is a person who mentally lives in a different reality--a fantasy world, while in contrast a psychopath is a person who fully understands what reality is, does not like it one bit, and is obsessed to change it immediately through violence.
So Muslim behavior, toward the Jewish state for instance, is psychopathology. The physical world must be molded through violence to conform to Allah's description of it. The physical evidence all around us must confirm that Allah's rules for the world are absolutely true. Any contrary physical evidence must be destroyed to preserve the official societal model.
I've said this before, but I think our national policies, therefore, should be designed to relentlessly demonstrate the opposite. In every military battle, the Muslims must walk away in defeat--but Allah said they would surely win! In every attack on our society, the Muslims must lose something tangible--territory, oil wells, privileges, freedom of movement--but Allah said they will be rewarded when they fight infidels! And so on.
Right now, we are doing exactly the opposite in just about every sphere of human activity. We are using our strained resources to defend, militarily, and to build up, economically, festering provinces in their fascist empire (Iraq, Afghanistan, Kosovo). We are rewarding them with access to our universities and our technology, rewarding them with undeserved praise, and rewarding them with with special privileges in the face of their bullying threats.
Stendec, you're absolutely right. God bless Israel for tearing down their reality while simultaneosly disproving any and all charges of racism, at least to those with any common sense. If only they had hung onto the Sinai and Gaza.
Good points, 'stendec' - especially this one:
"So Muslim behavior, toward the Jewish state for instance, is psychopathology.
"The physical world must be molded through violence to conform to Allah's description of it.
"The physical evidence all around us must confirm that Allah's rules for the world are absolutely true.
"Any contrary physical evidence must be destroyed to preserve the official societal model."
I don't know whether you've read M Scott Peck's book about human evil, 'People of the Lie'. If you haven't, I recommend it - especially the chapters entitled 'Towards a Psychology of Evil', 'Charlene: A Teaching Case', and 'Of Possession and Exorcism' (don't be put off: there is much in that chapter that reminded me forcibly of Mr Spencer in debate with Mohammedan apologists - with Spencer in the role of...exorcist, the real kind not the nonsensical Hollywood variety).
Peck wrote his book in the early 1980s, and in complete unawareness, so far as I can see, of Mohammedanism - indeed, his one incidental reference to Islam shows that he knew almost nothing about it except that it was a religion, and that he supposed it was like other religions.
Nevertheless: Peck's attempts to describe and define the nature of human evil, based on his painful experiences as a psychologist with evil people and entities *within* western society, ring eerily true to anyone who has spent some time at jihadwatch contemplating the belief-system of Islam and the generally observable behaviour of many Mohammedans, now and throughout history.
Here, for example, from the second chapter, 'towards a psychology of evil', is Peck on scape-goating and projection:
"A predominant characteristic…of the behaviour of those I call evil is scapegoating.
"Because in their hearts they consider themselves above reproach, they must lash out at anyone who does reproach them.
"They sacrifice others to preserve their self-image of perfection…{think about it: Muslims are taught, and devout Muslims firmly believe, that the Qur'an is perfect, that Mohammed is 'the perfect man', that sharia is the perfect system of law, government, etc - and when reality keeps suggesting that that is not the case, the Mohammedans have a choice - give up and acknowledge fact: that Mohammed, Qur'an, sharia are *not* perfect [this is the choice most apostates have made] or obstinately cling to that [false] belief, in which case, the contradictory reality itself has to be rejected and destroyed - dda}.
'Scapegoating works through a mechanism psychiatrists call projection.
'Since the evil, deep down, feel themselves to be faultless, it is inevitable that when they are in conflict with the world, they will invariably perceive the conflict as the world’s fault.
'Since they must deny their own badness, they must perceive others as bad. They project their own evil onto the world. They never think of themselves as evil; on the other hand, they consequently see much evil in others…
'Evil, then, is most often committed in order to scapegoat, and the people I label as evil are chronic scapegoaters.
'In ‘The Road Less Travelled’ I defined evil ‘as the exercise of political power – that is, the imposition of one’s will upon others by overt or covert coercion – in order to avoid spiritual growth [p. 279]’.
'In other words: the evil attack others instead of facing their own failures.
'Spiritual growth requires the acknowledgement of one’s need to grow. If we cannot make that acknowledgement, we have no option except to attempt to eradicate the evidence of our imperfection."
Jihad - and the killing of apostates - might be interpreted as, at least in part, the Muslim world's attempt to eradicate every irritating little fact that contradicts its own inflated perception of itself.
This doesn't contradict the theory that Islam is 'the Arab imperial religion', cooked up by somebody (or any number of somebodies) to justify and motivate Arab conquest and subjugation of other people.
Tell a group of people they are perfect (when they are not), brainwash them to think they have the perfect system (when they don't), and then watch them lay waste to the world, energised by the same force that, in fairy tale, drives Snow White's stepmother.
