Doctors' jihad plot: "who would have suspected two doctors to have been involved in such planning?"

Well, one who is convinced that poverty and/or lack of education causes terrorism might have been surprised. Of course, such a glaring exception to the theory should only point more strongly to the fact that there must be some other factor at work in jihadist violence -- something to do with jihad, for starters. Most, however, will continue to search for something else altogether: alienation, "otherness," British foreign policy, and so forth.

"Terror trial: NHS doctors planned terrorist 'spectacular'," from the Telegraph, October 9:

Islamic extremists Bilal Abdulla, 29, and Mohammed Asha, 27, plotted the "spectaculars" as "punishment" for Britain's foreign policy in Iraq and Israel, it is alleged.
Iraqi national Abdulla and a third man, Kafeel Ahmed, tried and failed to blow up cars packed with gas canisters, nails and petrol outside a nightclub in London's West End in June 2007.
When those devices failed to detonate, Abdulla and Ahmed launched the alleged suicide attack on Glasgow Airport the following day. Ahmed, 28, later died from burns he sustained after setting off petrol bombs which failed to blow up their Jeep.
Saudi-born Asha, a senior house officer in the neurology department of University Hospital of North Staffordshire, was not directly involved in either attack but supplied money to buy the cars and bomb components, was in touch with the other two men at crucial stages of the plot and may have offered "spiritual and ideological guidance", the prosecution allege.
Three other cars had been purchased by the gang and other possible targets including the Old Bailey and the City of London had been filmed by the plotters, Woolwich Crown Court in south east London was told.
Jonathan Laidlaw QC, prosecuting, said: "In addition to the killing of the innocent the objective was to seize public attention, both here and internationally. By the carrying out of a series of explosions, with no warning as to where the next strike would occur, the terrorists knew the public would be gripped by fear."
He added that the attacks failed through sheer "good fortune" on the part of the public.
"Apart from the shocking nature of the activity these two defendants were engaged in, the extraordinary thing is that both men are doctors," said Mr Laidlaw. "They turned their attention away from the treating of illness to the planning of murder."
Mr Laidlaw said the plot had not been picked up by the security services, but "who would have suspected two doctors to have been involved in such planning?"
Both men deny conspiracy to murder and conspiracy to cause explosions.
The jury was told that the plot, which had taken six months to plan, was put into action when Ahmed and Abdulla drove two Mercedes cars packed with gas canisters and nails from their rented house in Glasgow to London, where they parked outside the Tiger Tiger nightclub in the Haymarket, which was packed with more than 500 people.
The second of the cars, a blue, L-registered Mercedes, was parked near a bus stop in Cockspur Street, just south of the night club, possibly as a secondary device "deliberately placed there so it would be in the path of those evacuated."

Street scene:
Two women (Gohar and Balub) dressed in attired black robes with black head coverings that are acceptable to the morality police meet on the street with another black robe clad woman (Aneesh).

Gohar: "Allah be praised, how are you"
Aneesh: "Islam is the light, I am well. How is your family?
Gohar: Everyone is well; by the way my son Mohamed has passed his medical boards and is now a doctor in England.
Aneesh: Praise the prophet...My son Amar was recruited to be a suicide bomber.
Gohar: Well Mohamed is a bomb builder and targeted the Glasgow airport.
Aneesh: I heard that none of his bombs exploded and all the infidels were unharmed.
Gohar: (meekly) that is so
Aneesh: My son Amar was successful and he took the lives of many Zionists, he is now a martyr and has 72 virgin brides, and he provided us with $40,000 from his martyrdom
Gohar and Aneesh, exchange Allah Akbars and part.
Gohar looks at the silent Balub, and says,
"I hate that Aneesh, she is such a social climber, she always one-up's everyone."

LOL reaper. Thanks for the laugh.

Puts a new meaning on 'Doctor knows best'.

Why would being a Doctor negate Islamic obligations?
The prime obligation is to remove all obstacles from the path of creeping Islam, and it's daughter Sharia. A Mohammadan is a Mohammadan even, if he is a doctor.

Grim you dare to mock mohammads religion of peace you islamiphobe how dare ya you shall not get your 72 virgins, sports car and free wee pad.

And these sick bastards did plan and attempt to commit murder. I will never understand how they reconciled this with the Hippocratic Oath.

I will never understand how they reconciled this with the Hippocratic Oath.

Concerning the Hippocratic oath, the Wikipedia entry states:

"although it is not obligatory and no longer taken up by all physicians"

A doctor is supposed to care for the sick and the injured and they are supposed to remain impartial.
This should have been a warning sign to people in the BMA(British Medical Association) that employing Muslim doctors may very well lead to ethical problems and them not doing the job that they're supposed to be doing.
While unfortunately switching over to BBC2 'learning' early one morning, I saw the usual multicultural propaganda nonsense from the BBC. Along with the usual 'institutional racism'(pride in one's culture and Nationality) they interviewed Muslim doctors who couldn't get work in the UK(I wonder why?) and then it went on to say: "It costs the taxpayer over £250K to train a British Citizen to become a doctor whereas it costs just £10k to teach a foreign doctor how we do things in the UK.
Sure it does but then British Doctors, not Muslim ones have allegiance to Britain before anything else and so it wouldn't matter if foreign countries paid Millions to the UK to allow their doctors to work here.

We simply shouldn't employ Muslims doctors or else we've got trouble in a nutshell. As many may already know, there are problems of Muslim students not washing their arms for religious purposes. We also have Muslim pharmacists who refuse to give morning after pills as well as Muslim doctors who refuse to treat women unless they're wearing a headscarf.

From the article:

"Islamic extremists Bilal Abdulla, 29, and Mohammed Asha, 27, plotted the "spectaculars" as "punishment" for Britain's foreign policy in Iraq and Israel, it is alleged."

From Merriam-Webster's online dictionary:

Extremist: the quality or state of being extreme

Extreme: exceeding the ordinary, usual, or expected

Bilal Abdulla and Mohammad Asha ARE Muslim extremists who, until last year, WERE able to exceed the ordinary, usual, or expected behavior of most of the world's Muslims.

True believers.

""who would have suspected two doctors to have been involved in such planning?""

Who would have? Anyone who knows who Ayman al Zawahari is.

When will we quit calling violent Muslims "extremists"? A Muslim plotting, supporting or carrying out violence is no more extreme than a Southern Baptist plotting, supporting or carrying out door-to-door evangelism.

We complain about projection from jihadists and leaders like Achmadinejad, but fail to see that we're guilty of the same -- Projection.

We're trying to make sense of words, attitudes and actions coming from jihadists and Muslims in general using the framework of our western ethos and memes. I don't blame people for doing this because it's very difficult to learn the other worldview in today's western climate. If we get to the point where people in the non-Islamic world have a common understanding of Submission as a closed system, then we'll no longer hear qualifiers such as 'who would have suspected.'

The road is either long or short, depending on how successful the unsuspected can be. Frankly I'm surprised at the lack of success of combat jihad efforts. Even with the understanding we get from sites like dhimmiwatch and jihadwatch, memritv.org and others... I'm still surprised at the depth of the jihadi effort in all its dimensions. Islam must be the most successful justification machine devised in the long history of evil in this world.

A_Plague_on_Both_Houses,

Far from the most successful, I would call Islam the most LUCKY "justification machine devised in the long history of evil in this world." It has been blessed with weak enemies, for the most part.
Europe's battle against Islam was fought without mercy. There was no fear that they were being unduly harsh with their enemy. Today, Ferdinand and Isabella would have a hard time maintaining order. They would not be allowed to expel Muslims whose families had been in Spain for centuries.
The US is no longer the country that fought the Barbary Pirates or even the Japanese. Its foundations have been weakened by political correctness. The very real deficiencies in American society that were faced up to in the civil rights movement of the 1960s resulted in changes that only make it easier for Islam to thrive.

PMK, your points are well taken, but I don't think luck demonstrates success for the spread of Islam anymore than luck explains staph infections.

Bacteria and Islam exploit weakness and opportunity in the same manner. Luck has nothing to do with it. If conditions are favorable, both will infect.

Yes, and from today's 'Scotsman', here's another failure to connect the dots:

http://www.scotsman.com/latestnews/-Glasgow-bombing-prosecutors-claim.4578889.jp

"Mr Laidlaw...revealed they both hold or adhere to "extreme Islamic belief and that both share...the same religious and murderous ideology as has inspired other terrorists who have struck at or threatened this country in recent years"."

Two additional lines reveal the author's inability to connect the dots:

"Asha...described as a strictly observant Muslim..."

"Abdulla is a strictly observant Muslim and known for being knowledgeable about the Koran. He also speaks and reads Arabic."

What does the author think makes the beliefs of these strictly observant Muslims extreme?

Flabbergasting.

PRCS... I agree the most important thing we can do is help connect the dots in the non-Muslim world.

The second of the cars, a blue, L-registered Mercedes, was parked near a bus stop in Cockspur Street, just south of the night club, possibly as a secondary device "deliberately placed there so it would be in the path of those evacuated."
.......................................

Well, we're seeing more and more of this, a refinement of evil. Jihad attacks now regularly feature a second bomb set to kill those fleeing the first blast, or timed to kill those coming to the aid of the first victims--police, firefighters, EMTs and ambulances, or just caring civilian rescuers.

Ameed Aziz Popal, the San Francisco SUV killer, deliberately circled back several times to streets where he had hit people, not only in hopes of finishing them off, but also deliberately aiming for those brave people helping his first victims.

What astonishes me about court case is this, i live very very near to where the Glasgow Airport attack happend - I know exactly where their rented house was - i've seen it - these nutters only had to make one left turn, one right turn, drive straight for another three miles and they were smack bang ( no joke intended) in front of the terminal - how on earth can they plead not guilty?
It's soooo obvious when you look at where they lived (squated, existed) - that they intended to make sure nothing got in their way, and if they had got into to the terminal, there is a mezzanine level directly above the entrance they chose. There would have been hundreds, if not thousands of folks there.
Pleading not guilty is an attempt to hit the 'Kaffur' in the pocket, as well as the flesh.
In my my view if these guys hold UK passports then this was an act of treason and should be treated as such.

REAPER

Class.

What I would like to see is a public enquiry into their history as doctors.

Have they been waging a "medical jihad"? Would like to see their stats.

This terrorist act by doctors opens up a whole new area of misunderstanding of jihad being peddled by the government which is that terrorists come from deprived backgrounds and from Muslims who feel alienated.

It also starts alarm bells ringing that doctors, who have the power of life and death over their patients, particularly when on the operating table, could be actively involved in jihad. This brings the Muslim war against infidels into a whole new area and one which the NHS and government should investigate but probably wont.

To follow on from Mark's comment:

Muslims by there restrictive practices are gradually edging themselves out of the job market.

Supermarkets: won't touch alcohol

Pharmacies: won't dispense morning-after pills

Doctors & Dentists: patients wary that they could be jihadists and therefore could be given harmful treatment or none at all

Police: claiming racial and religious discrimination when one particular Muslim officer has risen to be one of the top three in the Met.

Parliamentarians: involved in vote rigging and advocating Muslim rights should be high on the agenda. Known jihadists advising government on Muslim 'problems'.

Bakers and food production: Muslims suspected of adding 'things' to sandwiches which are supplied to supermarkets. Muslim baker added faeces to a chocolate cake.

You might like to add to this list which I believe to show a substantial risk to employers who employ Muslims.

Tommo

It does not matter what they will and will not do they get away with it. "Islamophobia" and "Discrimination" trumps everything.

Just see it this way.

Terrorism has 2 components.. the first is the brain, and the second is the manpower.
Who do you think is the brain?
Mostly doctors . lawyers . teachers.... and Muslim Doctors are the worst. It sounds like they care for people and they are popular and protected but whoever has seen their other side, knows that their dark side is the worst evil you can see.
They plan years in advance, they keep their calm , they play the games and they stab you in the back at the right time.

The manpower is made of the poor, the uneducated who can be manipulated easily by the brain .

Until we stop bringing brains from the Middle East in this country , we are putting ourselves at high risk.

Just see it this way.
