"Don’t listen to Brzezinski, he’s awful. He’s on TV talking about making deals with the Taliban."

Pay this man no attention

So said Daniel Casse to Barack Obama, during a conversation they had after Obama began working out on an exercise bike next to Casse in Asheville, North Carolina.

Obama, says Casse, did not respond.

If only our own Hugh Fitzgerald had been on the bike next to Obama's -- and not just because Hugh could use the exercise. See here and here.

I was expecting (hoping?) that the hyperlinks you provided would be to images of a sweaty fat man in spandex workout gear.

What do you mean "I could use the exercise"? You are giving an entirely misleading impression, and I object.

Hugh

I can't stop laughing over here.

If Brzezinski shows up to ride, stop immediately since he may be as clever on a stationary bike as he is at foreign policy, and cause a chain reaction pileup.

Hugh, I bet no matter how ugly you are (or are not), the women around you find you extremely attractive. For my part, I find you and Mortimer Adler equally irrestible.

Calumny, I happen to know Hugh is one of the world's greatest Lindy Hop dancers (Frankie Manning-style) and his body, like his mind, is a finely-tuned instrument.

As to what Obama is peddling: The Oxford Pocket Dictionary of Current English "hum·bug"
• n. deceptive or false talk or behavior: his comments are sheer humbug.
∎ a hypocrite: you see what a humbug I am.
• v. (-bugged , -bug·ging ) [tr.] deceive; trick: to humbug his humble neighbors was not difficult.

"I bet no matter how ugly you are"

I am famously repellent.

Bzezinski is somethig worse that happened to American policy EVER.

"Don’t listen to Brzezinski, he’s awful. He’s on TV talking about making deals with the Taliban."

What would a deal with the Taliban--so much bandied about these dark days--actually look like? Perhaps they would only stone rape victims in the soccer stadium on Fridays.

Repulsive. About as close to a deal with the Devil as it is possible to get.
