BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- The number of Christian families who have fled the northern Iraqi city of Mosul in the past week has reached 1,350, authorities said Wednesday.
Nineveh Deputy Governor Khasro Goran said the new numbers were provided by the provincial city's office of immigration and displaced persons.
The families fled, reportedly frightened by a series of killings andthreats by Muslim extremists ordering them to convert to Islam or face possible death, Iraqi officials said.
Fourteen Christians have been slain in the past two weeks in the city, which is located about 260 miles (420 kilometers) north of Baghdad.
In response to the attacks, authorities ordered more checkpoints in several of the city's Christian neighborhoods.
The attacks may have been prompted by Christian demonstrations ahead of provincial elections, which are to be held by January 31, 2009, authorities said.
Hundreds of Christians took to the streets in Mosul and surrounding villages and towns, demanding adequate representation on provincial councils, whose members will be chosen in the local elections....

- A plenary session of London Assembly today saw the two Green members put forward a motion concerning an amnesty for the hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants currently residing in London.
The move sparked a fierce debate with the BNP’s Richard Barnbrook who argued that this country didn’t have the resources to sustain unlimited levels of population growth and stealth immigration.. We have asylum seekers who are Muslims admitted into western countries and once there, they begin the whole process of degradation because of their mental Islamic baggage.
What I do not get is how comes the Christians and other minorities in Islamic countries do not get asylum into the west but instead the Muslims do?

I think we saw a good example of this in last night’s debate when McCain praised the “unity” of Iraq’s government (totally disregarding the fact that the Kurds would willingly and immediately secede and that Sunni and Shia are only waiting for the US to leave in order to settle accounts among themselves and slaughter the remaining Christians). Obama, of course, did not rise to the occasion and call out the nonsensical statement. This, to me, demonstrates very clearly that both are either willfully or blissfully ignorant of the realities surrounding Islam’s nihilistic agenda. That being the case, how could one expect more from British legislators or anyone else in the West?

By demanding fair treatment they broke their protected dhimmi status and are now fair game.
I give John McCain credit for mentioning Joe Biden's cockamamie idea of dividing Iraq into 3 countries. If they were established as Sunni Iraq, Shiite Iraq and Kurdistan (alienating NATO ally Turkey), where would the Christians belong?

In the extremely unlikely event that George Bush ever received a briefing memo about this slow motion genocide of Iraqi Christians, I believe that his only response would be to blink stupidly and uncomprehendingly at the information.
Actually, I don't believe that any of his army of expert advisers, including the State Department, would dream of including such details in a briefing paper, simply because only a tiny minority of those employed as policy wonks have the knowledge and mental capacity to see reality and for them to tell the truth would be a career killer.
As for the 'media' which claims it keeps the people 'informed', the situation is just as bad.
Not that I single out 'Dubya', his cabinet, policy advisers and the mass media for any special opprobrium. Every single western 'democracy' (I prefer to think of them as elective oligarchies - it helps to clarify and explain things better) appears to be governed by groups of people who suffer from the same kind of mass psychosis.

On the contents page there's a colour reproduction of the poster for a movie - 'a letter for tomorrow' - that's been made about Syriac / Aramaic. The Foundation has "resolved that Aramaic be recommended as a World Heritage Language".
Note particularly this paragraph from the article 'On the Edge', which provides a detail that hasn't been put quite in this way in *any* of the other news reports I've read, even from the Christian websites:

There's some hair-raising stuff in there about what the Muslims were doing to them before they fled - note particularly the reference to rapes and threats of rape, and kidnappings and extortion.
The stupid Guardian, of course, doesn't seem able to see
1. that the story is a total expose and indictment of the horribleness of Muslim treatment of non-Muslims and
2. that the social integration earnestly sought and practised by these Iraqi Christians in Scandinavia throws into damning relief the antisocial - indeed, sociopathic - behaviour of Iraqi MUSLIM 'refugees' in the same place (Scandinavia).
Above, I mentioned that the Arab Muslims in Judea and Samaria regularly rape and abduct and 'marry' and 'convert' the daughters of the dhimmified Christians.
One story I read, though, involved a Christian father who fought back. He had a famously beautiful daughter: along came the son of a local Muslim big shot, all dressed up for 'marriage', demanding (backed by a gang of thugs) that the girl be handed over, just. like. that.
The girl's dad, however, had had enough of grovelling dhimmitude. He had acquired a firearm. He used it. Blam! Blam! Blam! Just. like. that.
He cleaned up some of the thugs and the rest bolted. Not having an unlimited supply of ammo, however, Arab Christian dad and family, with beautiful daughter, then cleared out. I think they left the Middle East altogether.
The best thing the American army, or the Brits, could do for the Christians in Iraq, right now, would be to provide every Assyrian non-Muslim, aged 10 and over , from kids to grandparents, female and male, with top-quality firearms and a stack of ammo, and teach them how to shoot, and some basic commando skills. Train snipers. One for each church.
Break the damnable dhimma pact! The 'protection' offered by the Muslim Mobsters is utterly worthless. Even the most obedient and submissive dhimmis were repeatedly, regularly, robbed, raped, and mass-murdered whenever the surrounding Muslims felt like having some dirty fun.
Time for the Assyrian Christians to smash the dhimma, claim the right to bear arms and defend themselves, and especially, their daughters and their wives.
The west should openly back them and arm them, so they can defend themselves from the would-be practitioners of jihad genocide, rear-guard style, while we carry out their [the Assyrians'] evacuation.
It's time that, all over the world, Muslim rapists swooping down on non-Muslim families started copping a bullet between the eyes.

Single Muslim men who come to Australia seem to have great success in getting Aussie girls pregnant before they are sent their Muslim wives by their families. Sometimes they manage to convert the girls before they dump them. Then the girls raise the children on their own, of course. It is disgraceful that Immigration allows men to import wives when they are not supporting the offspring they already have.

is your statement based on specific cases you have personally seen happening (in, for example, your own family or extended family?). Or do you work in a field - e.g. social security - where you have seen such cases?
Anecdotal evidence is most useful when it is specific and susceptible of being traced to a local habitation and a name - otherwise it can be written off by people as 'urban myth'.
(For an example of what I mean by being specific: I personally knew a nominally Muslim woman who was one of the most consummately clever liars and deceivers I have ever had the misfortune of meeting. I can't give my own actual name here, nor hers: but my understanding of Muslim deceit began with first-hand experience, though it has since been confirmed by my finding out about doctrines like al-taqiyya, and reading the testimony of people like Nonie Darwish. Again: a good friend of mine, and a member of the same church, described to me his experience of working as a lawyer and having a Muslim client - the client's conduct was such that, after a certain point, he [my friend] chose to operate on the working assumption that pretty well everything the client said was a lie unless it could definitely be proven otherwise by third-party non-Muslim evidence).
So: without naming names, if you can describe a specific case (or cases) directly known to you, of Muslim men seducing and then discarding Aussie girls (perhaps even something that has made it into a local newspaper, for example) this is more useful than a general claim.
