Anwar al Awlaki, an American-born imam of Yemeni descent who now lives in Yemen, sees Allah's avenging hand in the economic crisis, and advises Muslims to leave America. Few Muslims, of course, will heed his words, given the fact that an America in economic collapse is still likely to be a more pleasant place to live than his own Yemen or most countries in the Islamic world. And then there is always the Muslim Brotherhood's grand jihad to eliminate and destroy Western civilization "from within" -- can't do it from Yemen.

So for those who cannot they should pray to Allah to make a way out for them and protect them from the people of transgression.If you are a person whom Allah has bestowed wealth upon then you should avoid owning property in the US and you should diversify out of the dollar into gold and silver. Gold and silver have retained there value over history and there is no reason to think that they would not do the same in the future. In addition to this being the prudent thing to do from a financial point of view, it is also the recommended thing to do Islamicly. Muslims should not be supporting the economy of a nation that is fighting them.
Finally, for those who are contemplating purchasing a home in the US based on mortgage which is a clear form of Riba [usury] they should fear Allah. In addition to it being one of the most evil sins in Islam it is putting money in the wrong place. Allah says that He will destroy Riba. It is a promise from Allah. There is no blessing in anything based on it. What is happening in the US nowadays is a testimony to that....

Interesting. About six miles from where I live there is a mosque and a neighborhood that was built during the real estate boom right across the street. Many of the homes in that neighborhood have been foreclosed on. A quick look at the tax records will show that the majority of people losing their homes in the neighborhood have Muslim names. These folks are losing their homes because they took advantage of low interest rates and subprime loans and got in over their heads.
What I'm wondering is, where was the Imam of the mosque when these folks were moving in and laying claim to the neighborhood? Did he know they were taking out loans to buy these properties? Does this Imam know that the majority of homes bought in the United States are acquired by the buyer taking out a mortgage and not paying with cash? Does he understand how long it would take for the average buyer to save up enough money to buy with cash and that most people would never be able to buy a home in their lifetime if they had to do that?
Or is it that Muslims do what their good book says to, except for when they don't? If Riba is a sin, there are A LOT of sinful Muslims living in the U.S.

Sheik, I hate to tell you you're wrong because you are always right in my book, but while they may stay and not pay for a while, they eventually get the boot. Many of these homes have gone on the market as short sales, which means they try to sell them for what they are currently worth on the market which is less than what they paid for them and ask for the bank to allow them to sell for less and forgive the difference. If the bank agrees to this, they stay in the house almost until the settlement date. If the house goes to foreclosure, the bank kicks them out.
Just the other day a neighbor of mine told me someone showed up and put a special lock on his door. Luckily he was home at the time and was able to explain that he was the tenant. The realtor who put the lock on told him that the owner had not paid the mortgage in eight months and they were foreclosing. Because my friend is the tenant they made an arrangement with him to allow him time to move out, but what a hassle for this poor guy.
When I first found out about what was going on in that neighborhood I thought, well, one down, who knows how many to go? But it was a way to lessen the effect of the mosque. Less members, less "let's kill and hate everybody". That is the loneliest looking mosque. There never seems to be anyone there but it still ticks me off every time I see it.
On another positive note, oil is down to $86 a barrel and falling fast. No money for oil, the less these folks have to spend on da' jihad. Today, love my life, love my job. : )
While I do not believe that Anwar al Awlaki has any knowledge of any immediate attacks upon the U.S., I do believe that he understands Islam better than many here do.
The U.S. and the 'West' will not initiate a war against Islam. Islam has already started a war against us and he knows this.
The winners in warfare escalate until the other side either cannot or will not match. The obivious next step is WMD, probably nuclear weapons. This can only be a matter of time.

As for Oil as a weapon. It should be no surprise considering they used it several times in the past. Neither does a 5% drop in demand add up to a 40% drop in price. Oil was falling even as Ike was making a mess in the Gulf of Mexico. The drop in price also diminishes the pressure for Energy development here at home.
When the going gets tough, the tough get going and payback is always a bitch.
