A manual of Islamic law certified by Al-Azhar as a reliable guide to Sunni orthodoxy says that "retaliation is obligatory against anyone who kills a human being purely intentionally and without right." However, "not subject to retaliation" is "a father or mother (or their fathers or mothers) for killing their offspring, or offspring's offspring." ('Umdat al-Salik o1.1-2).

No biggie. Probably she "deserved it", one way or the the other. Perhaps she talked back to Papa, maybe even said she wanted to be with some guy.
And Papa (Allah?) knows best. Right?
Maybe she was caught holding hands with a man. Or maybe she was walking unescorted by a male family member. Or showed a little too much ankle. Or.....
No dignity for the victim here -- even in death. Surely revelations pertaining to the state of her body should not be public -- but then again, she was a virgin, not a real person.
Inspired by George Orwell, here are some definitions of Islamic double-speak that come closer to the truth than our conventional time-honored meanings:
"Cleanse" means "make bloody."
"Honor" means "an Islamic idealized familial construct in which the preferred mechanism of control is violence and blood-letting. In the name of protecting honor, weaker family members who are deprived and belittled (i.e. females) are made the scapegoats for the stronger family members who are advantaged and privileged (i.e. males). In this way the male's sense of superiority is preserved and his control solidified."
"Family" means "a close-knit kinship group in which the concept of 'honor' (see above) takes precedence over love, compassion, and simple humanity. Blood-ties are literally just that -- blood-ties. Violate the family's sense of honor and bloodshed is liable to follow."
"Virginity" is "a bodily state which for all practical Islamic purposes is only applicable to the female. It is a state of never having done 'something,' -- not willingly, not unwillingly, nowhere, and no how. All female infants are born this way, but as the girl grows up this negative state of 'not and never' assumes huge proportions -- so much so that virginity becomes her identity, and the individual is lost underneath the label. Should said individual have enough of 'not and never' and decide to break the negativity mould, her life may be at risk, all in the name of 'cleansing family honor.'"

I hope that loser enjoyed reading the autopsy report. It would be nice if he would be forcibly sterilized lest he have to deal with the problem of "honor" again but expecting that in the ummah is like expecting the sun not to rise in the morning.
Hell, expecting that to happen outside of the ummah in the lands of infidels is expecting miracles too.
It might have been something as innocent as having back-talked her father; in this culture, the man has carte blanch to murder at will....

In truth the man instead of restoring his honor actually showed his own dishonor, he murdered his own child, he was not honorable enough to set her straight, his daughter according to the autopsy was a virgin, where was the dishonor but in the mans own sick fevered imagination, imagining evil against the child that no doubt trusted him.

I think this means that the young lady goes straight to Paradise.
I have some thoughts on where her father should go, but then he lives in Gaza which is sort of a hell on earth.
