Less than one week after the media reported the Taliban had "broken" with al-Qaeda and was seeking "peace," it's back to business as usual:
"Taliban To Continue Suicide Attacks On U.S. And NATO Troops," from MEMRI, October 12:
According to a report in the Urdu-language newspaper Roznama Mashriq, the Taliban in Afghanistan have rejected any offer of talks with the Afghan government.Zabeehullah Mujahid, a spokesman for the Taliban in Afghanistan, said the Taliban will not be part of any talks that are not in the interests of Afghanistan and other Islamic nations. He said the Taliban will continue the war until the U.S. and NATO troops leave Afghanistan.
The Taliban spokesman said that more suicide attacks against the U.S. and NATO troops in Afghanistan will be carried out. He said that thousands of suicide bombers, including a significant number of women, have joined the ranks of the Taliban.
What a shock, the Taliban refuses to compromise in their war aims. If only our leaders were as stalwart.
I've wondered this before, but here goes again: What is their motive in advertising that they are using women? I'm sure there's a purpose in this. Is it for sympathy? Is it desperation? Is it simply because they're oh so proud of their "girls"? I just don't get it. Given that it's a male-dominated society you wouldn't think they'd be proud of using women - unless(in their small minds) it just goes to show their power over the women even more - that they can push, force, threaten, and cult-talk their women into this? Idiots anyway - don't they know that for each young woman they lose they're also losing her potential muslim offspring?
I noticed how he did not say that they would continue to attack NATO and the U.S. AFTER we withdrew from Afghanistan. After all, the Taliban attacked us before 9/11, so why not after we pull out of Afghanistan?
OT -- calling Australian posters and lurkers:
Stephen Crittenden of ABC national Radio Reigion Report announced this morning that his program is to be axed. Stephen has been instrumental in exposing Cat Stevens (as homicidal by running an old interveiw where he reveals his true Islamic colours regarding killing critics/questioners of Islam) and has also run programs revealing the level of Saudi influence in Australian universities and the stooges and useful idiots of Islam in the Australian Defence Academy recently. Please do what you can to protest this decision. Now, more than ever, we need a 'religion' report in Australia.
If you want to be happy for the rest of your life
Make a suicide of your wife
From my personal point of view.
I'm going to blow her up for you.
CHARLIE: "I've wondered this before, but here goes again: What is their motive in advertising that they are using women? I'm sure there's a purpose in this. Is it for sympathy? Is it desperation? Is it simply because they're oh so proud of their "girls"? I just don't get it."
RESPONSE: Easy. This is just another means to fulfill the Quranic injuction to "strike terror in the hearts of the infidels."
In other words, it's psychological warfare, given new vigor and impetus since that limp-wristed British General said the war couldn't be won.
Is anyone surprised by this?
As for why they brag about using women as suicide bombers, I think Charlie hit it on the head:
"....it just goes to show their power over the women even more - that they can push, force, threaten, and cult-talk their women into this..."
It also illustrates the high regard in which they hold women.
jewcat - thanks for the heads-up. I'll do what I can.
Crittenden has done quite a lot.
Besides what you mention: I think in 2007 he wrote a review of 'biographies of Mohammed' for the Sydney Morning Herald, in which he compared Spencer's 'Truth About Muhammad' with Karen Armstrong's and John Esposito's nauseating whitewash jobs - and gave Spencer's book the big thumbs-up over the other two.
Most recently - on 'The Religion Report' - Crittenden interviewed David Henshaw, the man who did 'Undercover Mosque: The Return'.
http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2008/08/14/2335669.htm?section=justin
In the course of the interview he raised the subject of al-taqiyya, religiously sanctioned deception, in Islam, and pointed out that it was exemplified by some of the behaviour shown in the documentary (Muslims smiling and being nicey-nice to naive Christian visitors, then once the visitors were out of the way, turning round and spewing the most horrible hate speech about Christians). At the end of the transcript there was a link to...an article on this very website, discussing taqiyya
He's very sober, very sensible, well-informed...I wouldn't be at all surprised if he lurks on this very website (if so: hi mate! good on you!).
For a sample of what Crittenden has done, on 'the religion report, here's
an interview with Bat Yeor
http://www.abc.net.au/rn/talks/8.30/relrpt/stories/s1250346.htm
and here's a discussion of 'Islam and terrorism; British ex-Muslims; interchurch dialogue', chaired by Crittenden, and featuring, among others, Andrew Bostom:
http://www.abc.net.au/rn/religionreport/stories/2007/1981254.htm
and here is Crittenden in February 2007 interviewing Raphael Israeli on the subject of mass Muslim immigration...whoo-ee!
http://www.abc.net.au/rn/religionreport/stories/2007/1853198.htm
The Taliban spokesman said that more suicide attacks against the U.S. and NATO troops in Afghanistan will be carried out.
But I thought Islam FORBADE suicide!
/sarc off
Idiots anyway - don't they know that for each young woman they lose they're also losing her potential muslim offspring?

Good one.
Mr. Spencer, I look forward to your arrival at Stony Brook University.
Too bad the group that I am in (that is hosting the event) cannot post fliers because it is "Islamophobic."
I'm gonna put em up anyway.
I will possibly get howled down on this......
I feel sorry for the innocents, women children, men, who will suffer if this happens but isn't it time the West removed itself from these countries.
Given the current economic climate and the money that is haemorrhaged into Afghanistan and Iraq, how about pulling out and deporting all suspected jihadi sympathizers from Europe and the U.S. and protecting our own boarders?
Addition to the above.....
if you have toxic 'friends' it is usual to remove them from your sphere to protect yourself.
Bloody hell and doesn't the West need to protect itself

I fired off a quick note to the 'religion report' website, praising Crittenden for the many interesting and informative interviews he's conducted.
I will follow up with a formal written letter to the ABC.
Crittenden has been patiently, steadily attempting to get the word out about jihad and sharia.
His review of Spencer's 'The Truth About Muhammad' and of Karen Armstrong's whitewash job, in the Sydney Morning Herald in May 2007 didn't mince words.
After writing my posting above, I hunted around - I couldn't find the text of the original review online, but I *did* find this description of it, with a couple of choice quotations, provided by a jihadwatch commenter:
"Stephen Crittenden - an ABC journalist in Australia - published a full page review of three current biographies of Muhammad in the books section of the Sydney Morning Herald weekend edition 19-20 May [2007].
'This is the first review of Robert's work in a major journal in Australia. The other biographies are by Karen Armstrong and Tariq Ramadan.
'Crittenden is particularly severe on Armstrong -
QUOTE "Muhammad ... a champion of "monotheistic pluralism", "universal human rights", "complete sexual equality" and (this really is bizarre) "the individual was free and sovereign". Of course this is complete rubbish and deserves to be treated with contempt". UNQUOTE
'Ramadan fares little better -
QUOTE - "His Muhammad is a mystic ... totally absorbed in contemplation of the Oneness of God and whose message is all about freedom and love" (sic)' UNQUOTE
[and THIS is what Crittenden told SMH readers about Mr Spencer's book]
"Spencer's book about Muhammad is a valuable and reliable contribution to present debates"...
- Posted by: metalstorm at May 31, 2007 12:05 AM
Got that, everyone? 'Valuable and reliable'.
The SMH is read by those with pretensions to culture. This means that Sydney's intellectuals were told in no uncertain terms that Robert Spencer's 'The Truth about Muhammad' was a book to be trusted - and that Karen Armstrong's book was 'complete rubbish'.
Yay for Stephen Crittenden!
(Makes me wonder whether he's spoken out once too often at the ABC re. jihad and sharia, and someone has leaned on somebody, to get him squelched).
In the meantime I think I will visit a library, track down the whole of the original review in the back issues of the SMH, and make a copy.
Idiots anyway - don't they know that for each young woman they lose they're also losing her potential muslim offspring?

Maybe not. One of the first female suicide bombers in the Palestinian territories was infertile. She was divorced by her husband and had no other marriage prospects because she could not have children. Her future was bleak and so she chose suicide. An earlier story on suicide bombers in training spoke of a woman who already had a child. She did her thing for the cause by giving her husband a child to raise alone.
It can't be long before we see menopausal women blowing themselves up. Jihad gets a two-fer.
"...one of the female suicide bombers was infertile." PMK
That was my second thought exactly. That the female suicide bombers are "undesirable" for whatever sick reason, and therefore "expendable." That is another reason I'd like to see this investigated more. Just another notch on the belt of human rights violations for these _____!
