The two-day QII conference brings together more than 300 Muslim dignitaries from 47 countries.
Leading among notables attending are Sheikh Yusuf Al-Qaradawi, president of the International Union for Islamic Scholars, Iranian presidential adviser Ali Akbar Velayati and former Al-Quds Bishop Attallah Hanna.
"There is a real danger threatening the Al-Aqsa Mosque as well as the holy city of Al-Quds," said Yoonis Allie, South Africa's executive member of the QII.
"Muslims all over the world must work together to save their sanctities in Palestine."
The AII is a non-profit organization established in Lebanon in 2001 with a permanent headquarters in Al-Quds.
The AII's board of trustees features a cohort of Arab and Muslim figures, who seek to keep Al-Quds cause alive and pass it on from one generation to another.
Danger
Muslim leaders warned that the holy city is falling victim to a systematic Israeli judaization policy.
"Peoples of South East Asia and Indian sub-continent are very concerned about the dangers Al-Aqsa Mosque is facing now," said Abdul-Ghafar Aziz, deputy leader of Pakistan's Islamic group Jamaat-e-Isalm.
Abdul-Rasheed Al-Turaby, the head of Jamaat-e-Islami Kashmir, and board member of the QII, also sounded the alarm.

Bulldoze the al aqsa mosque, load the rubble on a seagoing barge, and ship it to anyone willing to pay the freight. If there are no takers, scuttle the barge in deep, international waters.

Under Israeli rule, there is no "threat" to Jerusalem. Religious institutions of all kinds are scrupulously respected, and if anything, as in the recent riots in Akko, Israeli authorities bend over backwards to accommodate the Arabs, even if that means discomfitting Jews (as when those large stones, brought to the Temple Mount for the express purpose, rain down on Jewish worshippers at the Western Wall, and the Israeli response is always so wan).
Under Arab rule, however, things were quite different. Jews were completely banned from visiting their holiest site -- the Western Wall. 37 of the 38 synagogues in the Old City were dynamited or otherwise destroyed. The ancient tombstones from Jewish burial sites were pulled up and used to line the floors of Jordanian army latrines. The treatment of Christian sites was minimally better, because the Arabs felt they needed to curry favor with, and win diplomatic support from, "Christian" countries (as Muslims see them), but once such favor and support are no longer needed, because the Muslims feel they have won, even the Christians under Arab and Muslim rule are sure to suffer, as they do everywhere in the lands where Islam completely dominates, and there is no worry about the reaction of the outside world.
Jerusalem now is safe and its religious institutions secure. If you want to see what happens under Arab and Muslim rule, look at the Hindu temples pulled down in Pakistan, Bangladesh, even multi-ethnic Malaysia. Look at what happened to the Buddhist statues in Bamiyan, once the Taliban, with help from Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, acquired the technical expertise to blow them up. Look at what has happened to Christian churches all over the Middle East and North Africa, and look at how Christians, who0 once largely peopled Egypt, and the rest of North Africa, and Iraq, and Syria, now scurry about, afraid for their lives, living in a constant state of fear, awith their numbers much reduced by the conversion, over time, of so many to Islam, in order to avoid death or the humiliation, degradation, and permanent physical security that came with the status of dhimmi.

He has also suggested that a "middle eastern union" be formed (including Israel) - Which was obviously rejected by the majority of Muslims - however that does not mean that a union cannot be formed which excludes Israel.

World Muslims meet to save al-Quds
Save it from what? I didn't know Jerusalem belonged to "world muslims". They were a bit late claiming it but that's not unusual. They seem to think they can call any location in the world one of islam's holiest sites and they are guaranteed eternal possession and control of said location. I do believe islam's predecessors had stakes in Jerusalem long before muhammad and his cronies created their ersatz creed and muslims launched the iconoclastic rampages that have endured for almost 1400 years.
Muslims don't belong there; they stole Jerusalem like they stole every other "holy site" they claim for islam, even the pagan kaaba in Mecca. I agree with several other comments about their precious al aqsa temple of doom and despair; it should be razed and the rubble dumped into the sea.

Mainly on the stairs and pathways. The number of places of worship they have destroyed through history is in the thousands and to this day they keep doing it.
We have seen it more recently in Kosovo, the Moors destroyed an entire way of life for people living in the region. In kashmir Hindu temples were razed to the ground and desecreted.
