America's Most Wanted whitewashes honor killing in the U.S.

Disgusting...

Two of the most absurd statements I recall from the initial reporting and investigation:

From the aunt (as I recall): "She's Baptist, he's Egyptian".

From the aunt, too (I believe): He didn't want them dating American boys.

I am very disappointed in Walsh. I thought he was better than this and wouldn't distort the basic facts.

I had thought that America's Most Wanted was an unafraid force for good, driven by motivated, principled people in defense of morality.

I used to admire their work.

Now I see it is just another namby-pamby finger pointing club out to make money by chasing down the popularly crowd-designated black sheep.

Too-respectable nazi-soviet-collaborator style prissy public scolds in angel's clothing.

They looked so brave running down isolated child molesters with the entire outraged nation at their back. But faced with some grown-up male anger they collapse like a wet paper bag.

What a let down.

To hell with them!

Having child-killers or child-molesters in one's family couldn't be any greater dishonor. Yet that doesn't matter to the monsters that either support or commit these so-called "honor" crimes.

Actually, I've got to give credit to FOX News for presenting this story accurately. Megyn Kelly seems to have made it her per project to update us whenever it makes the MSM and what they call it when it does. That special on honor killing was excellent. It concealed nothing. It told the whole story based on fact. They also basically indicted the mother and brother,said that they were in the cult, that they were collaborators, and said that they were on the run too. Aunt Gail was on. They didn't have her mention the death threats against her, if I recall correctly. It's sad that the FOX Network let us down like this when their news channel had done such a good job.

I understand why secular governments wish these crimes to be acts of simple criminality with no common underlying cause; and the desire that they represent nothing more than a personal loss of self control on the part of the perpetrator. How reassuring it would be for our policy makers and administrators if Christians and Hindus represented the worst of ideological intolerance in our society. And how neatly would it fit into the latest pop-academic worldview if all cultural values and ideas were just part of a mushy ideological gruel, with none standing out as objectively better or worse?

Wouldn't that be great? No real battles of ideas required, no tough disciplined reasoning required, and no mortal enemy to engage. If the worst in the world really were the capitalist and the Christian, how great would that be? Imagine a world where oil companies and economic competition really were the biggest threat to mankind. Then, if some violent ideology masquerading say, as a religion did emerge; wouldn't it be great if you really could make it go away by ignoring it… or saying it just wasn't there?

So many songs have been based on such emotions; what a wonderful world it would be… if dreams could make wishes come true.

But, since we are constrained by the real world and how our universe actually operates, wouldn't it be nice if those who are charged with our protection of our lives and liberty, and those responsible with the maintenance of civil society based their actions on ideas that are effective instead of dreams and wishes? Wouldn't it be great if they could show a little courage and realism now, and by doing so avoid the accumulation of power by those who openly state they will commit bigger crimes against humanity in the future?

Wouldn't it be great if those organizations, whose job has been to inform us about threats to our freedom, really did their job regardless of what the truth required of them? Wouldn't it be nice if free peoples were always given them objective information that would allow them to make decisions in their own self interest?

Yeah, wouldn't it be nice if dreams really could make wishes come true?

It's absolutely heartbreaking to see any and every photo of these beautiful girls...they are so filled with life. One can't help but feel very, very angry over their fate.

Meanwhile, I wonder if Mr Walsh is aware of the criticism being leveled at his program here and elsewhere? He's a straight-up guy and I'd love to hear his side of the story.

Great post, Ralph Infidel. The reason they won't admit all this is that they are afraid of being caled racist or of being indicted of some other thought crime. They are also terrified of admittig that they were worng and that multiculturalism is a horrible, terrible idea which never, ever works. They would have to admit that we have an enemy n our midst and that they are the ones who imported it.

Cornelius, the worst part of it is not only that these girls died, but that their scumbag brother is alive and well and will probably end up killing a pregnant wife or something. Muslims always pick off their best and brightest, and with women, their most beautiful.

To be a beautiful woman in any society can be potentially hazardous, given the obsessions of men. To be one in a Muslim society, where there is no trace of gender equality or inalienable rights, is truly a perilous existence.

Islam murders people, especially women - especially its sisters, daughters and wives...

I just don't expect that main stream media to every accurately portray these honor killings. They are appeasers and cowards.

Just another whitewash by the MSM and I quit watching this show quite some time ago. These two sweet, young ladies represented alot of what is right about the USA. Their deaths and the subsequent cover up represents so much of what is wrong with the USA, and the west in general. Ohhh.. we do not want to inlfame or upset the muslims or shame islam as a religion that is not peaceful! Ralphinfdel had it accurately and what if those who were suppossed to protect did, and speak out HONESTLY about islam and the evils that it includes. The underlying cause is islam, and islamofacism within the religion which cannot be separated out of the religion. They are one in the same that will use all evils at their lowest levels to bring down those who are any type of threat to islam and the world domination that it craves and DEMANDS of it's followers. Let us never forget Amina and Sarah.

Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.

John Walsh is an American hero. "America's Most Wanted" has solved over a thousand cases - anyone have the exact count? His is a true public service, just like JW. He should be commended for his decades of capturing criminals.

Also, I have eyes, I can see. Those poor girls do look "Arabic" to me. They have an Egyptian father, hello. Maybe they looked "pale-skinned and blue-eyed" in person - I don't know.

Unfortunately, I missed this "AMW" though I do often watch it. I wish I could have seen for myself the apparent flaws in this particular presentation. But, I am not about to diss John Walsh, who is an American hero and has a collective body of excellent work in LE.

Here's the AMW site. The exact count is 1,046 criminals to date. Let's see, have YOU helped catch 1,046 murderers and rapists? No? I didn't think so. Bravo John Walsh and "AMW."

On the show about Yaser Said, a Muslim, you should have presented the case as an Honor Killing, which it is. Honor Killings occur in Islamic countries with regularity, and now occur in the West, including in the U.S., due to Islamic immigration. Islamic immigrants bring their vile, primitive and barbaric "customs" with them. I hope that next time you will present this case as an Islamic Honor Killing, which is exactly what it is. Here's my thing: I have never trusted John Walsh. John Walsh did very well for himself, after the partial recovery of his son's body.

If I were superstitious, as well as paranoid, I'd be thinking about "deals with the devil".

Very likely, Mr. Walsh is a good fellow, with impeccable integrity, but he just doesn't strike me, that way, when I see and hear him.

I feel the same way, with Obama--so maybe my meds are giving me odd ideas... (I'll have to ask my shrink...)

Walsh must have some influence on the presentation of the cases, but maybe not anything all-encompassing.

I just don't like him.

As for the honor killing angle--Yes, that's what it was. It was a disgusting act taken by a man-shaped animal, bent on removing two beautiful young women from the world, all for his "honor".

However, the US doesn't have a law against honor killings. We have laws against murder. That said, Mr. Said must be captured, arrested, arraigned, indicted, and tried for two counts of first degree murder, and the prosecution should then lay the case of motive, honor killing, before the judge and jury. Oh--and Islam Said should be tried as an accessory.

If and when Said is caught, the honor killing part will come out, in all its horrendous glory. Even if the prosecutor is only able to say it once, and even if he is gaveled down, and the jury is instructed to disregard, it won't leave their minds, for a second. It won't be discussed in deliberations, but it will still be be present--the elephant in the room.

Forget Amina and Sarah? My God, who could! Every photo I see of these girls is a reminder to me that they were everything to each other. American boyfriends come and go, but not the relationship between sisters so close as these girls.

Laws aren't just for punishment after the fact; they're also for prevention of crime. If we don't legally recognize honor killings as a distinct kind of crime, we won't be able to prevent it as well as we could, because the signs and culture leading to it won't be officially recognized.

You're right. The thing is, we can't expect to get there, in one great leap.

It's sad, but there will probably have to be more martyred women and girls, before the phrase, "honor killing", begins to offend the average American ear, through repetition. Someone has to be offended, before anyone says, "Hey, this is a particularly ugly sort of murder--there should be additional punishment for it."

Incredible, isn't it, how free speech can now be so easily repressed, but "honor" homicide may have to go on for decades before it occurs to people how egregious it is?

Was it Darcy or Champ, who came up with the phrase "daughter slaughter"? It's a good phrase. It would look well on leaflets, bumper stickers, billboards, etc. with the Qur'anic ayats that back it up. Widespread and explicit disapproval by infidels might push the thing along, and maybe even save a life or two, in years to come.

Seriously, you're right. The show appeals to people because they like John Walsh. They like John Walsh, so they watch the show, and there's no denying that the whole mix has helped to bring criminals to justice.

I've seen programs on A&E that feature criminals, their trials and sentences, that also have an America's Most Wanted segment, explaining how it was done.

In the clear light of a new morining, it occurs to me that someone has to do it. Someone has to keep dangerous people in the minds of the public.
Might as well be Walsh.
