Castro: U.S. government using al-Qaeda as "bogeyman" to play on American fears

Despite the fact of 9/11. Perhaps Castro is still sore about the fact that U.S. government had more agents tracking him than Osama bin Laden in 2004?

"Castro: U.S. uses al-Qaeda to justify foreign policy," from USA Today, November 24:

HAVANA— Fidel Castro suggested Sunday that the U.S. government has promoted Americans' fears about al-Qaeda and other terrorist groups to justify its plans for world domination.

In an essay published on a government website, the 82-year-old former Cuban president wrote that al-Qaeda "was born from the empire's own entrails," using "the empire" to refer to the United States, but failing to elaborate.

Had he used "the empire" to refer to the historic caliphate, he would've been right on.
He said the terrorist group was "a typical example of an enemy that the hegemonic power dangles in a place of its choosing where it needs to justify its actions, as it has done throughout its history, fabricating enemies and attacks destined to strengthen its plans of domination."

The U.S. has used al-Qaeda as a pretext to carry out plans "outlined long before the attacks that brought down the Twin Towers on Sept. 11, 2001," Castro wrote.

Castro has previously accused the U.S. government of misleading the public about the Sept. 11 attacks, and his close friend and ally Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez says it is plausible that Washington was somehow involved in planning the attacks.

Castro and Chavez have been watching too many Michael Moore movies. Of course, Michael Moore is a great admirer of Cuba's health care system.

While the hospitals in "Sicko" were state-of-the-art facilities for Party and State cadres, the hospitals reserved for the "masses" are hopelessly underfunded, decrepit, dirty, and dank. Those unlucky enough to be treated in them are dependent on family for basic medicines and even blankets.

Yes indeed, Michael Moore contributed mightily to the collective knowledge of mankind.

Can anyone say "unholy alliance"? In reference to the left and the Islamofascists, of course.

How 'bout, "League of Infamy"? A good thing Castro is no longer sending Cuban troops abroad to fight bush wars. You wonder when these social experiments/excercises in malignant narcissism will come to an end?

Cuba will say the very same things at Durban II early next year. Free Speech is not free; it's bought by the blood of freedom-loving patriots.

All those jihadis in Gitmo? How about shifting them to Havana, and handing them over to Castro? He can keep them, for good. Maybe, he can even convert to Islam.

Michael Moore and Oliver Stone can join them

Castro is diseased and senile. This drek has a ghost writer

And both of these scumbags enthusiastically supported Obama.

If Islam hadn't murdered more than 300 million non-Muslim people since 600 AD, hadn't destroyed dozens of sovereign nation states, hadn't wantonly slaughtered its own people, and hadn't destroyed at least nine major civilizations worldwide Castro might actually have made a valid point. Fear sometimes CAN be a tool used for manipulation.

However, given the intractable violence inherent in Islamic ideology, the threat posed by Islam to the world therefore can NOT be overestimated. Even Communist China's government (Castro's own Socialist ideological brethren) would NEVER trust Islam any furher than they could throw a mosque over the moon.

Looking both ways before crossing the street is based on fear too (we do it because you might well get run over if you don't do it--that is fear being used constructively which is not a negative thing).

Fidel loses (as always)...
