I was reading the October edition of the Arabic newspaper, Sawt al-Muhajir ("Voice of the Immigrant" Y9N62) which regularly reports the abuses non-Muslims, mostly Christians, suffer living in the Islamic world. I found an update to a story we had originally posted here. According to that report, an Egyptian Christian intentionally converted to Islam simply so he could divorce his wife and remarry another, presumably Muslim, woman.
The problem, however, is that, upon converting to Islam, and despite Article 20 of Egyptian law, "which grants custody of children to their mothers until the age of 15, and a fatwa (religious ruling) from Egypt’s most respected Islamic scholar, Grand Mufti Ali Gomaa, giving her custody," the court granted the man custody of their two Coptic boys, Andrew and Mario. As the mother's lawyer observed: “This decision was dangerous because it was not taken in accordance with Egyptian law but according to sharia [Islamic] law."
The update I read in the Arabic paper yesterday stated that, though the mother (Gaballah) has been fervently trying to seek help, international and otherwise, in getting back her sons, the Egyptian (rather, sharia) ruling still stands. More troubling still, the boys, who desperately want to return to their mother, have made a pact that, if the ruling is not turned, they will go on a starvation strike, to the death.

How sad that this man's religion and wife are so disposable, while so many others face death and persecution. He will gain a portion of barren world, while dispatching his own soul.
Gee, does King Abdullah know about this? What with all those interfaith dialogues he keeps holding (none of them held in the Kingdom, of course), I'm sure he will fly right over to Egypt and lecture the Egyptian authorities on the importance of tolerance.

Well, if the sperm donor is a TRUE convert, their death shouldn't make too much difference to him, anyway. They're just dirty kuffars, after all.
Has anyone done any studies regarding the various psycho-social methods for the conversion of a society from Christian to Islamic?
I say this because this case highlights how men with evil motives would convert in order to satisfy their desire to remarry, or have temporary marriages, or have multiple wives.
I suspect that that these sexual benefits (at the expense of women) is one of the processes which drives the spread of Islam. Controlling men also know that they can use violence and the intimidation of women to maintain control over virtual sexual slaves.
Of course, we know that the Dhimmi tax is also a method of tempting men through financial greed. Convert to Islam and you get more money too.
It is all quite Satanic, given that the Islamic worldview plays on the primary motives of Sex, Money, and this combined with assurances of Heaven, if you murder and kill in the name of allah, make it a truly toxic expansionist religion.

If those boys starve to death, they will be REAL martyrs. Muslims make me so sick. I feel awful for those boys, and all Christians who have to live among Muslims. I almost wish there were a Christian Israel. It's awful that those nations all kicked out all of their Jews, but it turned out so much better for those Jews in the end. And what is wrong with the Coptic Church that they allow female genital mutilation but prohibit divorce? This is what Arabs do to people. Not only can Muslims never evolve as a society, but neither can anyone in their midst. It's not even necessarily sharia that Egypt's adhering to in this case. It's just narcissistic opportunism. It's Islam.

A man I met from a minority tribe in south Sudan told me that his tribe had had enough of Arabs coming to seduce the tribe's girls and giving the subsequent babies Muslim names and so on. They decided that if any girl had sexual relations with a Muslim man, she would be killed, and the same fate would be met by any parents selling their daughter to a Muslim. I don't know if any such punishment has been carried out, but the Islamization of south Sudan does seem to be continuing, and I can understand the need for drastic action. Hopefully threats are enough.
Even if they get independence from Muslim Sudan, the south Sudanese will gradually become Islamized, despite that long war they endured. Seduction and money; the same temptations the Muslims are bringing to the West. They never stop if you give them a chance - such a range of options - sex, money, terror, lying...
Lust destroys another family. Islam does cater to the base passions, doesn't it? One would think that those who engage in it would be ashamed of their weakness, lack of character and cowardice. How embarrassing.
One thing about these boys though...being Christians they would know this to count as a fast and Christ said in the Gospel that some evil can only be eradicated by prayer and fasting. This may be an act of positive subversion on their part, knowing that they can affect a change in the evil path their father is following by sacrificing in this way. If they are willing to do the fasting it becomes incumbent upon us to assist them with the praying.
Together we can save them. We just have to pray and to believe.
Fasting for at least three days has a positive physical effect. Toxins are cleaned out and mental clarity improves.

No, not starving until death. I hope that in their lack of food God will bless them and help them to get back to where they belong, with their mom, since their dad lied about his intentions. That's what I am praying for.

You guys are underestimating the spiritual power of the lack of food. It is extremely powerful. These boys are Christians and are willing to put there money where their mouths are. Do you think God will abandon someone who asks Him for help who is willing to imitate His Son's sacrifice on the cross? I don't think so.
Lord, please help Andrew and Mario and hold them in Your hands.
