Why was this guy on the committee in the first place? An announcement from Americans Against Hate:
School Board Chooses Not To Reappoint Hamas Supporter To The School Board’s Diversity Committee(Fort Lauderdale, FL) On Tuesday, November 18th, the day his term ended, members of the Broward County School Board made a conscious decision not to reappoint or reassign Jawhar Sadallah Badran, a.k.a. Joe Badran, to the School Board’s Diversity Committee or any other committee ruled over by the School Board.
Badran, on March 1st, was videotaped making statements in favor of Hamas. The statements included him saying that Hamas was “not a terrorist organization.” As well, in July of 2006, Badran described himself to the Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel as a suicide bomber. He stated, “Hamas and Hezbollah are committing acts of defense against the acts of the Israelis. The only weapons that we have are to strap bombs on our bodies and do whatever damage and destruction we can.”
Badran was also an admitted member of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a group affiliated with Hamas and a group currently named as a co-conspirator by the U.S. Justice Department for a federal trial dealing with the financing of millions of dollars to Hamas....
TRUE GRIT! That's what the Broward County School Board has!! Congrats to them for their courage and standing up for principle! Every committee, board, group in the country should be as brave and intelligent!
Good news! The Broward County School Board needs to be congratulated for doing the right thing. I suspect there are many more pockets of sanity like this out there that, given the opportunity, would similarly display common sense.

Because he had an exotic-sounding name, which could only burnish the credentials of the "diversity" committee.
Why is this guy still in the country?

I wish we can find more Jewish people like him ready for the fight and not giving up.

I do hope you've just said the same thing, directly, in an email or letter to your fellow Americans on the Broward County School Board.
We have all got to get in the habit - whenever we see a person or group doing or saying what is right, that is, standing up to resist stealth jihad and sharia creep - of contacting that person or group and expressing approval; and telling them why what they are doing is so important.
So: read an article in the paper in which the reporter or op ed author says something intelligent and informative? - something that is NOT dhimmified? - fire off an encouraging and appreciative letter.
A town council or parish priest stands up to defy proposals to build a mosque or Islamic school or broadcast the adhan - same deal, send them a letter.
I know what it's like to be on the receiving end of encouragement - after I had a little letter published in our diocesan paper, a letter that mentioned Bat Yeor's books on dhimmitude, a priest in a different parish took the trouble to find out my contact details from the paper and rang me up to thank me for raising the subject; he's fully clued up about Islam, so we now stay in touch and swap ideas.
It's good to send off a blistering letter of complaint when someone does something stupid and dangerous...but it's even better to write bracing, informative letters of encouragement to the people who are starting to resist the Third Jihad. Sometimes they don't yet 'get' how incredibly important their actions are.
