German police carry out raids searching for jihadist collaborators

The suspects are still at large. Eurabia Alert. "German raids on suspected terror cell supporters," from the Associated Press, November 22:

BERLIN – Officials say German police carried out raids in three states searching for suspected supporters of a terror cell whose plans to attack U.S. targets in Germany were foiled last year.
Federal prosecutors' spokesman Frank Wallenta says police made no arrests during Thursday's raids on the residences of several people suspected of acquiring detonators for three alleged terror plotters.
The suspected plotters are now on trial. They are alleged to have operated as a German cell of the radical Islamic Jihad Union.
Wallenta declined to say Saturday where the raids had been carried out. Germany's Bild daily says they were in Baden-Wuerttemberg, Rhineland-Palatinate and Lower Saxony.

This is a confusing article. No one was arrested, but their on trial?

Sometimes I wonder if these are real raids at all!
We in Britain have many such raids on "militants" and no one gets arrested, or if held in custody, are freed without any charges.

I think these so called raids are just publicity stunts to hoodwink the citizens into thinking that the government is doing everything in its power to protect them, whereas the real power lies in the hands of muslims.

yes,
it does seem confusing. Even though they lack a lot of power thanks to certain types there, at least the police keep them off balance with raids like this.

Hermit...That thought crossed my mind as well.

What's the point of these raids if no arrests are made?

What's with this type pad? I sign in and try to post and it tells me I'm not signed in...Six tries...

Test...you bugger, test...

duh_swami, I too get this "not signed in" messages. I think it may be something to do with signing in through a proxy.

Probably related to the arrests earlier this year.

sheik yer'mami...

I guess these raids were follow up search warrants or something. I don't know German law or how police operate.

That's a great picture of Condi and Nasrallah...

Reminds me of a contestants in a down home dance contest...

For what it's worth, if you're having trouble signing in, you're not alone. I'm hoping this comment goes through this time, or next time, or the one after that...

Huzzah!

Apparently if you keep trying, you'll eventually get logged in.

Anyway, we're aware of the problem, and though it's on Typepad's end of the deal, hopefully it'll be resolved soon.

Foolster-- I've added a link to previous coverage to help distinguish which suspects are which.

You arrest a Moslem activist and you get a problem: how to quietly let the terrorist off without pissing off the slumbering Dhimmi population. Takes finesse and careful cooperation with the local media, which is always abundant.
