Iran test-fires new missile near Iraq

But never fear. Very soon now the President of the United States and the President of Iran will sit down, without preconditions, and hash this out, and clear everything up before Iraq turns fully into the Shi'ite client state that the Iranians covet. And a new era of peace will dawn upon the world. "Iran test-fires new missile near Iraq: state media," from Reuters, November 11 (thanks to Little Green Footballs 2):

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran has test-fired a new type of missile during war games near the Iraqi border, state television said Tuesday, after warning the United States it would respond to any violation of Iranian airspace.

The English-language Press TV said the Iranian-made missile, named as the Samen, was successfully tested Monday by the elite Revolutionary Guards in the western border city of Marivan.

They also tested artillery and rocket launchers, Press TV said on its website.

Iran's armed forces have staged frequent maneuvers in recent months, coinciding with speculation of possible U.S. or Israeli strikes against the Islamic Republic over its disputed nuclear ambitions....

Islamic dreams turning into reality.

In a move that further heightened tension, Iran in July test-fired nine highly advanced missiles, including one which reportedly could reach Israel and U.S. bases in the Middle East.
From the article

Hey, wait a minute...wasn't that test firing the subject of the photo that was determined to be photoshopped to show several extra missiles being fired?

If so it goes to show how MSM works, this article is after all by Reuters. Never mind that the story was debunked, give it some time, let people forget it was a partial hoax, and trot it out all over again (if only be brief reference).

But still, the bottom line is that Obama is not going to know how to handle the present or future situation.

it's early here...

The WWI like mass slaughter of Iran's youth in the war with Iraq 'won't go away'. In Teheran there is a big fountain with red colored water - a fountain of blood to remember them by. Karbala in Iraq is the most sacred of Shia sites. 70% plus of the people in Iraq or Shiite. Iraq as a puppet of Tehran would square that account.

Obama has openly stated that Afghanistan is his main concern which is double-talk for saying Iraq is a secondary concern. Which is saying Obama may get some startling concessions from Iran on the nuclear front if at the same time promoting Iraq and Iran's 'friendship'.

Obama has this huge 'goodwill' across the world. A powerful bargaining chip to use with Iran. Iran has nuclear terror an even more powerful bargaining chip.

The new administration will be talkers. They will pat themselves on the back while talking for years, and years, meanwhile...............

But never fear. Very soon now the President of the United States and the President of Iran will sit down, without preconditions, and hash this out...
.................

Ah, yes--but just last month, Iran was sufficiently emboldened by Obama's attitude that they decided they had some pre-conditions of their own:

"On Saturday, Vice President for Media Affairs Mehdi Kalhor said Tehran would accept ‘repentance’ on behalf of the US government toward the Iranian people.

“Negotiations would be rational if the US moves out of the Middle East and the US government gives up its widespread support for the Zionist regime,” he said."

So this terrorist state will deign to talk to us--as long as we grovel before them, leave Afghanistan to the Taliban, pull out of Iraq (leaving it to Iran), and completely abandon Israel. Hey, there's nothing like negotiating from a position of strength!

Very soon now the President of the United States and the President of Iran will sit down, without preconditions, and hash this out, and clear everything up before Iraq turns fully into the Shi'ite client state that the Iranians covet. And a new era of peace will dawn upon the world.

Precisely what GWB is thinking: I have about seventy more days to create my legacy and this is it. I'll get the jump on BHO and show the world just how friendly a GOP POTUS can be.

Meanwhile, we are still bringing "freedom" to those "ordinary moms and dads" in Iraq, which "freedom" -- and American-taxpayer-funded "prosperity" and "unity" -- continues apace, and will have all kinds of benefits in the war "against radical Islam" though no one can quite spell out what those benefits will be, say, in combatting the Money Weapon, campaigns of Da'wa, and demographic conquest in Western Europe and elsewhere in the West.

Meanwhile, the Israelis are told don't you dare try to attack Iran's nuclear project -- even though Ahmadinejad and many others in the government of the Islamic Republic of iran have stated that they devoutly wish to see Israel disappear, and will do everything they can to make their pious wish a reality -- because, you see, it would "interfere" with American efforts in Iraq.

And in the real world, the world that more than a million American servicemen have experienced for themseves, the hopeless "minds and hearts" project has claimed its latest victims. On a joint patrol with Iraqis, an American soldier, fed up with the behavior of one of them, apparently dressed him down, or perhaps even, out of the display of incompetence, or cowardice, or unnecessary violence (oh, the Iraqis repeatedly show all three on those actions they undertake with the Americans -- what they do when the Americans aren't around to hold them partly in check you can surely guess) included some physical act, a push or a slap.

And my goodness, we all know how in the Iraqi army, as in other Arab armies, the officers never ever get physical with their men, and so the Iraqi soldier in question was so chocked, so horrified at this, that he simply had to take out his American-supplied weapon and aim it at the American soldiers, and proceeded to kill, in cold blood, four -- or was it six? --- of them.

The "surge worked." Iraq is well on its way to becoming a Model, a Light Unto The Muslim Nations. Yes, it is, in fact. A study in how to get the Americans to rebuild your country, how to milk the Americans in every way -- for hundreds of billions of dollars, and for each side to manipulate them, to string them along, to get still more aid (as the oil revenues pile up), for some inthe government to decamp with billions, and others to be satisfied with mere millions, and to keep those Americans coming, and then, when they do leave, to figure out ways to get them to leave a lot of that expensive military equipment behind ("We need it to protect all of the gains" or "Leave it or we will no longer be your friends" or "Leave it or it will be very difficult for us to protect your convoys on the way out" or Your Favorite Iraqi Reason here).

There is no end to this, as long as the ignorance of what Islam does to the minds of men, what Islam inculcates, is understood. And it cannot be understood by substituting anecdotal evidence -- you know, Colin Powell playing tennis and accepting Jaquars from Prince Bandar thinks he knows all about Islam as a result, or this or that American officer who has a "good relationship" with some smooth, self-interested Iraqi officer, may think that he too "knows all he needs to know about Islam."

No. No they don't. You have to study Islam. Not only the texts, but what the great Western scholars -- not today's espositean apologists -- wrote about Islam after decades of study. You have to find out what the defectors from Islam, the articulate apostates, from every Muslim land -- Ibn Warraq, Wafa Sultan, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Magdi Allam -- can testify as to the reality of Islam, for these people are even more valuable than the defectors from the Soviet government who helped enlighten the West about the real nature of the Soviet regime, and its aims.

There is no substitute for such study. Any individual Muslim, a charmer, with his smile, and his eyes brimming with sincere offers of friendship (see those imams with whom those naive rabbies will be "twinning" during the "Twinning Week" -- 50 rabbis and 50 imams -- announced in the Saudi-funded ad that appeared in The Duranty Times yesterday, p. A15).

This isn't very hard. But it does require a lot less mental laziness. It does require an understanding that one cannot substitute pieties and hopes for recognizing a grim reality that will, yes alas it will, require a far cleverer, more all-encompassing, and much more unyielding and hard-headed strategy, than the soft-headed sentimental one, merely masquerading as "tough," that permits official Washington to be off the hook, not to have to think, not to have to recognize the full meaning, and menace, of Islam but to parrot, and to pretend to believe, pieties that are false, and being false, are dangerous.
'
So far only a few have broken openly with these pieties so welcome in offical Washington. But reality keeps breaking in, with each day's Jihad news, from around the world -- in places that have nothing to do with American foreign policy, nothing to do with Israel, nothing to do with supposed "insults" to Islam in a Danish newspaper or a Dutch film that of course deserve -- don't they? -- the death threats and murders that have resulted, and that too many have convinced themselves are not only explicable (that they certainly are) but also, being explicable, should have been foreseen and since they should have been foreseen, the behavior that triggers Muslim murdreousness, such as daring to exercise freedom of speech in the Western world, should be curtailed. It is the victims of Islam who are being blamed for the outrageous behavior of Muslims. In Western Europe, in Kashmir and India, in Malaysia and Indonesia, in the Sudan and Nigeria, and of course in Israel. Yes, if only those non-Muslims would yield, there would be no problem. And it's true, too. If only the non-Musilms would yield, and remove all obstacles to the spread, and then the dominance, of Islam, there would indeed be "no problem." And the world, the whole wide world, would look like -- oh, Saudi Arabia, or Sudan, or Pakistan, or Iran, or some special blend of all four.

Something to look forward to. Something to hasten.

"Ordinary muslim moms and dads" - This expression, stuttered by President Bush, is emblematic of absolutely stunning ignorance. It should go down in history with Neville Chamberlain's "peace in our time".

President Bush is an embarrassment for the ages.

The phrase was "ordinary moms and dads." Bush didn't use the word "Muslim" - possibly because even he recognized that if he did include the word "Muslim" in his description that would, even for those unwilling to openly say so, fatally vitiate the ordinary meaning of the word "ordinary" and that, George Bush, "taking a leadership role" as President, did not wish to do.

Even he, obscurely, in his confused inner mind, surely has some glimmer of the disturbing not-to-be-wished-away truth. And so do some others who rule in Washington, and so do a great many others who have returned from their own experiences, and observations, in Iraq, where they served and sacrificed, for a policy firmly based on the notion that the word "Muslim" can be left out.

It can't. It mustn't.

Hugh is on his soap-box again folks, convinced with nary a scintilla of doubt in the righteousness of his calculations, that there is NO chance, NADA, that by withdrawing from Iraq before the existing government has entirely consolidated control (Mosul is the last redoubt of the insurgency), the national security of the USA can be effected negatively in ANY way.

You see folks, Hugh's crystal ball is 20/20 without fail...but the legions who disagree, right down to the same Hirsi Ali he touts above as so incredibly "valuable" to the cause, who is so insightful about all-things Islam, she and all the rest just happen to be shrouded in ignorance on Iraq.

Hugh wrote:

"And the world, the whole wide world, would look like -- oh, Saudi Arabia, or Sudan, or Pakistan, or Iran, or some special blend of all four".

Hugh - you should have written 'Saudi Arabia, or Sudan, or Pakistan, or Iran, or Somalia, or Afghanistan, or some special blend of all six'.

Or teeming, festering, corrupt and potentially unstable Egypt.

Ditto Libya. And Lebanon.

Or tyrannical hub of terror Syria.

Have we left any Islamic paradise out? Take backward, radical-spawning Yemen -- Ppleeezz!

How about that scenic Red Sea resort, terrorist-arming Eritrea?

we can sure spread the wealth around, when we are reduced to subsistence-level, hardly-above-water Bangladesh. Islam in all its squalid Bengal splendour.

Hugh, here's another candidate for a post-anthropogenic-global-warming Apocalyse: the touristy Maldives.

Hugh, here's another candidate for a post-anthropogenic-global-warming Apocalypse: the touristy Maldives.

Aw, hell, why not just list the entire 57 countries of the OIC?

Hell, yes.
