Remember Aqsa Parvez, victim of an honor killing in Canada?
Assault on Free Speech Update -- but sleep on, folks. We all know it can't happen here, and that the real problem is that someone might have put on her coat in a way that made someone else think she was making the Hitler salute. There ain't no possible way that "hate speech" codes could be enacted in the United States, what with the First Amendment, right? Right?
Just remember how narrowly the Second Amendment survived a serious Supreme Court challenge not very long ago.
"BREAKING: the next Human Rights complaint against a Canadian magazine?," from the heroic Kathy Shaidle at Five Feet of Fury, November 11:
So it begins:They lost against the Western Standard. They lost against Maclean's. Now they're going after Toronto Life:
A group called the Urban Alliance on Race Relations has created a Facebook page, urging people to phone [Toronto Life editor Sarah] Fulford and express their concerns about Mary Rogan’s cover feature on Aqsa Parvez, the 16-year-old who was murdered last year. After Parvez was strangled, her father Muhammad Parvez phoned 911 and told the dispatcher that he had killed his daughter. Muhammad and his son Waqas will be tried sometime next year. The Facebook group, which currently has 127 members, offers five “talking points”, which callers are encouraged to bring up in phone conversations or messages to Fulford.
Heres's one of their "talking points":
The question, "Has multiculturalism gone too far?" suggests that Muslims and immigrants are threats to Canadian society, rather than contributing members to Canadian society. The idea that "our" tolerance or respect for cultural diversity has let "them" continue their oppressive and dangerous behaviours is not only based on racist and Islamophobic stereotyping of diverse Muslim and immigrant communities, but also ignores the ongoing racism that exists in Canada despite our public commitment to multiculturalism.Actually, belligerents like this group are the reason Muslims are "perceived as a threat to Canadian society." It's hard to see what Muslims do "contribute" to Canadian society when their most visible representatives are bullies and parasites like Mohammed Al-Sharpton. [...]
Anyway, here we go again. This group is, typically, more upset about Islam being "insulted" and "misrepresented" by the violence perpetrated by its own members (and by a mere infidel's decision to publish an article about it) than by the actual death of a young girl....
Of course, you could always send a message to Sarah Fulford encouraging her to publish whatever she wants at Toronto Life -- because this is Canada, not Saudi Arabia. For now.Editor in Chief, Sarah Fulford

In reviewing all 5 points put out by this group.
All 5 reflect, or better yet deflect away from a clear effort to demonstrate to the dhimmiworld that defining Aqsa Parvez's murder as an honour killing is only a way to demonize Muslims who somehow are defined as a race. There is an effort to only focus on crimes against women in general rather than address the specific problem that is found in Islamic communities. Another words, they are trying to to have us ignore the source of what brought on the murder of 16 year old Aqsa Parvez.
However law enforcement always works to investigate the source of a crime and is not about to ignore or be forced to deflect their investigations of what may have precipitated this murder.
The only human rights crime here is the one committed by the murderers.
They have denied this young girl her life while they are still allowed to continue living.
From the "Suggested Talking Points" for Muslims:
'The question, "Has multiculturalism gone too far?" suggests that Muslims and immigrants are threats to Canadian society..."
Errata Sheet:
For "[t]he question, "Has multiculturalism gone too far?" suggests that Muslims and immigrants are threats to Canadian society"
Read "t]he question, "Has multiculturalism gone too far?" suggests that Muslim immigrants are threats to Canadian society"
It is not a case of "immigrants" but of "Muslim immigrants" and because of what they bring, undeclared, in their mental baggage, a Total Belief-System, an alien creed(but Canada can handle alien creeds, because Hindus and Buddhists and devotees of Confucius do not threaten Canadian political and legal institutions) but Islam is an alien and a hostile creed, based squarely on the division of humanity between Muslims and non-Muslims, Believers and Infidels. It is that division of humanity, so central to Islam, and the inculcation, in Qur'an, Hadith, and Sira, of the notion that there must be a state of permanent war (if not always open warfare) between Muslims and Infidels, until such time as all barriers to the spread, and then the dominance, of Islam all over the world have been removed, that makes Islam such a threat not to the West, but to all of the Rest.
The sly hendiadys of turning "Muslim immigrants" into "Muslims and immigrants" and attempting to spread the suspicion, and hence the answering righteous indignation, should fool no one. It certainly will not fool those non-Muslim immigrants to Canada -- Copts, Maronites, Assyrians, Hindus, Buddhists, Christians from Muslim lands -- who have had their own experience of Islam, and can bear witness in the West to what Islam is all about.
No, it won't work. And in Canada, as in Western Europe, the same statement can be made, with the same assurance that it cannot be gainsaid.
To wit:
"The large-scale presence of Muslims in the countries of the Bilad al-kufr, the Lands of the Infidels, has led to a situation, for both the indigenous non-Muslims and for other, but non-Muslim, immigrants, that is more unpleasant, expensive, and physically dangerous than it would be without such a large-scale presence."
Dare to deny that? Dare to disagree? Look at the United Kingdom. Look at France, Belgium, the Netherlands. Look at Denmark, Norway, Sweden. Look at Italy and look at Spain.
Go ahead. Try to deny it.
Aqsa’s murder must be looked at through the larger context of violence against women in Canada. The problem is not limited to any one community or religious faith.
So what?
When I see terms like "larger context" my antenna go up, bobbing and probing, feeling for the bullshit that almost certainly follows.
The article associates Muslim religiousity with a tendency towards violence.
Given that the Koran and Sunnah call for misogny and violence against women, couldn't there be maybe, just maybe, an association?
Whoops, forgot about that Fictive Reality that insists Islam is equivalent to other religions, the real ones.
"Aqsa’s murder must be looked at through the larger context of violence against women in Canada. The problem is not limited to any one community or religious faith."
-- from the Muslim propagandists and defenders of the faith above
The deep determination to prevent any close look at Islam, to prevent any understanding of, for example, the misogyny that is a permanent part of Islam, and for which sura and ayat can be endlessly quoted, and so can all kinds of "authentic" Hadith from Bukhari and Muslim, and always and everywhere to play the game of Tu-Quoque, the game that in this case consists in insisting that "everyone does it" so let's be sure to "put things in their proper context," the context of that "everyone does it."
"Aqsa’s murder must be looked at through the larger context of violence against women in Canada. The problem is not limited to any one community or religious faith."
No, the "problem is not limited" to "any one community or religious faith." But it is overwhelmingly a problem to be found among Muslims, who are taught, by the way, that a father can do what he wants in punishing his children, and is not to be punished, under the Sharia, for it. He is their complete master. The violence, and the assurance that one is doing what is not only right but will not be punished in a just -- i.e., Muslim -- society, and the complete indifference to the fact that one no longer lives in a society ruled by the primitive and unacceptable norms of Muslim societies, all this is unique to Islam. It is inideed "limited to one community or religious faith."
Tu-Quoque has its limits as a defensive device. As: here.
Oh come on, Hugh. Lots of Canadian Baptists and Catholics strangle their 16-year-old daughters to death for not a wearing a disgusting Dark-Age Nazi slave rag. Stories about Christians, Jews, atheists, and Buddhists doing that kind of stuff come out of Toronto a couple of times a week. Honor killing has nothing to do with Islam.
In the National Post, By Sarah Jafri
I was sent an email asking me to write you and express my ideas pertaining to your article in regards to Aqsa Parvez. The email wanted me to express to you that there were a lot of 'misrepresentations' about Muslim families within that article. However, I can't do this without feeling like I'm misrepresenting the truth.
In my experience of having been born and brought up in a Muslim Indo-Pak family, I can say that everything I read was generally true. Unfortunately, the Muslim Indo-Pak community, which is primarily made up of immigrants, who refuse to integrate in Canadian society and adopt a liberal and open outlook in life, justify acts of violence against women and domestic violence as their 'given male right' through the use of religion.
Kinda blows a hole in their argument.
There ain't no possible way that "hate speech" codes could be enacted in the United States, what with the First Amendment, right? Right?
Just remember how narrowly the Second Amendment survived a serious Supreme Court challenge not very long ago.
Let us ever remember that all of the rights cited in both these amendments to the US Constitution are not granted by that estimable document, but merely confirmed. As Thomas Jefferson noted in the American Declaration of Independence, we have been endowed by our Creator with those rights, which, accordingly, are unalienable. Temporal governments may attempt to abrogate them, with varying degrees of success, but cannot do so legitimately in the eyes of the Almighty.
"But where says some is the King of America? I'll tell you Friend, he reigns above, and doth not make havoc of mankind like the Royal Brute of Britain..."
-- Thomas Paine, Common Sense, 1776
Good on Sarah Jafri for telling it like it is!
My own two cents re violence in Islam vs violence in other faiths.
I have read the whole of the Qur'an, and have closely followed Mr Spencer's Qur'an blog. I have also read the whole of the Bible, every last word of it.
The Qur'an contains an explicit instruction to men to beat - or in one translation 'scourge' the wife, or wives, on suspicion of her harbouring possible rebellion. Note that, if one reads the verse and pays attention, one sees that it is not a case of the wife actually having *done* anything - the beating is, so to speak, a pre-emptive strike. The oh-so-sensitive Muslim male need only *suspect* or *fear* that his wife is plotting to rebel. And everything we know about abusers tells us that they are hyper-sensitive, always looking for excuses to let rip.
Now, as for the Bible: there is not one text in it anywhere, even in the harshest and most archaic portions of the Hebrew scriptures, that commands a man to physically hit or hurt his wife; nor is there, indeed, any reported incident, within the text, of a man so doing.
The historical portions of scripture do record historic acts of violence against women: most notably, in Judges, the appalling story of the Benjaminite's concubine, and of Jephthah's sacrifice of his daughter; these are neither concealed nor celebrated, they are unblinkingly recorded as things that happened, but no Jewish or Christian theologian has ever treated them as anything other than dreadful examples of human wickedness and folly, examples of what is to be avoided, rather than of what is to be emulated.
The two rapes recorded in the Hebrew scriptures - of Dinah Jacob's daughter, and of Tamar David's daughter - are followed not by 'honor' murders of the rape victim, but by savage justice meted out upon the rapist. In both cases the brother or brothers of the victim take it completely for granted that their sister is innocent.
Nevertheless: there are no cases of wife-beating recorded in any part of the Scriptural histories. Sarah beats Hagar, one woman beating another; but *Abraham* does not beat either Sarah *or* Hagar. Isaac and Jacob have stormy marriages with intelligent, strong women - but Isaac doesn't beat Rebecca, and Jacob's motto with Leah and Rachel seems to be 'whatever you say, dears'.
The New Testament gives a positive command to men to 'love' their wives. Indeed, there are a number of stories I have read, concerning Muslim couples converting to Christianity, in which the man converts first, and his wife notices (and then, in her turn, converts) because he starts to treat her so much more kindly and lovingly!
At this point it might be appropriate for someone to provide a link to the film 'Submission', and to refer new visitors to Ayaan Hirsi Ali's collection of essays on Islamic treatment of women, 'The Caged Virgin'.
Here, too, is Nonie Darwish's description, from a speech given in 2007,
http://frontpagemag.com/articles/Read.aspx?GUID=17069DA6-6C04-4E06-81C7-010C9F29AD55
on what it is like to live under what she calls 'family sharia'.
First:
"After my father’s death, my mother had to face life alone with five children in a culture that gave respect only to families headed by a man.
"In the 50’s few women drove cars and she was criticized and called names for buying a car to take us to school.
"Arab women are expected to sacrifice their family by giving up their husbands and sons to martyrdom, but are given little respect to live their life with freedom and dignity.
"I lived for 30 years in oppressive dictatorships and police states.
"I witnessed honor killing of girls (our maid), oppression of women and female genital mutilation. "
Then, a little later on, Nonie explains: s
"Oppression of women and support of terror are two facets of the same fundamentalist mentality.
" Islamic law – Sharia – that terrorists are fighting to impose upon the world, would create a global state of gender apartheid"....
"I have lived under Family Sharia for 30 years of my life.
"This is practiced in all Muslim countries; it allows only men the right to an easy divorce, having up to 4 wives, allows wife beating, half the inheritance of a man to a woman and her testimony in court is only half valid.
"She is respected only when she shields her body, face and even her identity.
"As many as seventy-five percent of women in Pakistani prison are behind bars for the crime of having been raped.
"Sharia codified into permanent Law a 7th century Arabian Peninsula tribal culture for every Muslim in any culture forever.
"Under Sharia, the Muslim Khalifa or Amir, meaning leader, is exempt from being punished under Sharia.
"Islamic Sharia law is a dictator’s dream handed to him by Allah.
{and one might note that every Muslim male becomes, in his own family, a petty dictator with total power of life and death over his wife, daughters, etc....dda}
"Polygamy has a devastating effect on family dynamics, husband/wife relationship and women relationships.
"Many Moslem men only have one wife, but the damage to wife/husband relationship has already been done in the Muslim marriage contract itself; where a man does not pledge loyalty to his wife and the wife cannot expect his loyalty.
"The marriage contract has 3 more spaces to be filled out by other women if the man wishes.
"That is why a good Muslim woman must accept her destiny under Sharia Law for one simple reason, challenging Allah’s Law is like challenging Allah himself."
Aqsa Parvez' father was her judge, jury and executioner because under Islam that is what he could be.
Has multi-culturalism gone too far?
That's a good question.
Let's ask Aisha, Mohammed's child bride
Let's ask Mrs. Hirsi Ali.
Let's ask Anima and Sarah.
Let's ask Gene Simmons, of Jewish descent, by the way.
Let's ask Sir Paul McCartney.
Let's ask all the nameless, faceless victims of Islamofacsism whose blood "cries from the earth for vengenance".
Let's ask Aqsa Parvez.
I hope I've answered that question in terms liberals and these 7th century Neandethals can understand.

Errata Sheet:
For "examine it’s commitment"
Read "examine its commitment"
But what about the rest? What about the piling-up of fashionable cliches, the incense-burning to every Idol of the Age, the illogicality, the indifference to what makes Canada Canada, the vicious hostility to the very idea that the ways of the advanced West, achieved over centuries are not to be defended, but that -- the banality of banalities -- We're All The Same, We Can't Be "Judgmental," and so on and so forth, right down to the expected, and disgusting charges -- made against Canada, generous, Thidwick-the-Big-Hearted Moose idiotically generous, Canada -- having something to do with, bien entendu, "people of color."
For that kind of thing a mere Errata Sheet will not do. For it requires examining every single cliche in that cliche-ridden mind.
And how infuriating it all is that the intelligent, here and elsewhere, have to spend valuable time pointing out the idiocies, holding up for inspection and mockery every kind of ignorance and miscomprehension. It's not right. It is unjust. It is contra naturam.
But there it is.
Well it looks like Urban Alliance on Race Relations is tossing blame everywhere except where it belongs. It's like: 'see other elements of the population murder people too', but none of their examples were based on any religion or custom as being the cause. of course it always comes back to "what are you some kind of Islamophobe?" as Robert says.
Sorry about the mulitiple posts.
Ms. Cho seems a lot more intent on covering up for Islam than helping the women she supposedly is so concerned about. She does a lot more accusing than defending.
I don't remember reading any "anti-immigration, Islamophobic and racist rhetoric" but, hey, if the rhetoric fits...Note to Ms. Cho, Muslims are not a race. And as Hirsi Ali says, Islamaphobia is a myth. But please, keep spreading it on thick. To paraphrase another poster on that thread, it will not earn you any respect.
I have grown up since WW2 and have seen all kinds of immigrants come to Australia. Sometimes we have complained about them: the English "whinge", Italians and Greeks speak bad English. More recently, the Chinese are obsessed with money. And so on. But NOTHING compares to this kind of thing - honour killing - which these "anti-racists" are trying to tell us are mere "family violence" as if such a thing is par for the course anyway. And where is the humility, the shame, of the Muslims? If it were truly us non-Muslims doing such things there would be huge public Angst-sessions and "What have we come to?" All the Muslims do is defend themselves and say it has nothing to do with their religion! And of course, launch an attack on free speech.
Even more astounded than I am by all this is my mother, aged 90. She is too old to do it all again - fight for freedom, as she and her contemporaries did in WW2 - but she tells everyone who will listen what must be done.
She believed, when she was young, that our governments had the sense to keep the West separate from the East, thereby protecting us from the "cruelty", as she called it, of the East. Most of my generation would no doubt call her a "bigot" but she has always been a gentle, dignified person who cared about the future for her children, grandchildren and all who follow.
I wonder what kind of upbringing these "anti-racists" had?
Get a load of this pro-Muslim, anti-Israeli ideology, and please notice the condescending hatred on this smug bitch's face. ?(Thanks to Pamela Geller at Atlas Shrugs.)

Tell us again, oh whiners extraordinaire, how we marginalize and promote violence against Muslims
The talking points go 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 2, 3.
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=33924629052
The second third talking point suggests supporters to submit to the "Aqsa Zine #1," which is described here, emphasis mine:
Where does one even begin?
I must admit, I got this link from rotten.com.
Since the perp's first name is Muhamed, it's cogent here.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1083808/Caught-CCTV-The-murderer-carrying-victims-head-bag-London-bus.html
"Where does one even begin?"
I suggest moving the site and subscribers of Aqsa Zine to Saudi Arabia, or Egypt, or Iran, and see how they do.
Remember: hate the sin, not the sinner. The sin in this case is that someone from a strange land does not wish to conform to the very minimalist needs of a western society.
The West believes in Live and Let Live. This requires thought. We do not believe in the theory of cultural automatons. Thus, it is not practical to seal the border off from these people.
However, we can still prosecute them every single time they commit a killing. It doesn't matter whether it was done for "honor," "religion," or "tradition." They will pay the price.
And if a high percentage of the people from that country find themselves unable to cope with Western morals, then I suppose it makes perfect sense to discriminate.
Visiting or immigrating to a country is an honor, not a right.
Does anyone know what happened to the taqiyya post Ray made two days ago?
Isabellathecrusader...That woman betrays everything that is human...No racism or hate in her family, she has it all...
We recognize her murder as physical form of patriarchal violence, and the response to her murder from public institutions as Islamophobic, racist, and patriarchal. This zine is also inspired by Muslim young women and trans people who experience and resist violence. We work within an anti-racist, anti-Islamophobic, anti-imperialist, pro-choice, queer and trans positive framework. Our aim is to organize and document grassroots movements of Muslim young women and trans people working to end violence in all its forms."
-- quoted in a posting above from the "zine" titled "Aqsa"
When you are a True Believer in Islam, then whatever else happens, you cannot bring yourself to grasp the nature of Islam. You will not, no matter what, figure out what it is in Islam, what passages in the Qur'an, what stories in the Hadith, what details in the life of Muhammad, uswa hasana, al-insan al-kamil, that would lead Mohammad Parvez, and thousands of others like him every year, to kill their daughters, or what leads not thousands, but tens of millions of Muslim men to routinely beat up their wives, and what creates, even without a particular Qur'anic passage or Hadith in mind, the attitudes of Muslims, the atmospherics of Islam, that every intelligent apostate from Islam -- such people as Wafa Sultan and Ayaan Hirsi Ali and Nonie Darwish -- have testified comes naturally out of that belief-system.
Notice how all the modish phrases of assorted fashionable, causes in the Western world (but not possible in the world of Islam) are dutifully and mindlessly parroted: "We work within an anti-racist, anti-Islamophobic, anti-imperialist, pro-choice, queer and trans positive framework." This business of adopting the "queer and trans" movement, and at the same time defending, and thus promoting Islam, the blackest reactionary force, not least in sexual matters, in the world today, may amuse or may, as "kamala" states above, simply leave one not quite knowing where to begin.

Hugh,
When you are an absolute rejecter of God you hold in your heart a poison that touches everything you say or do.
Once true faith and the worship of One God only is mentioned, I imagine your face twists up in hatred and you jamb your fingers into your ears…but I suspect when an idol is placed in between, suddenly it becomes the sweetest thing you have ever heard. Am I wrong?
I feel, for you, as long as there is no responsibility or accountability or any creed at all to cling to then that is the “faith” you seek to disseminate.
Unwittingly, your smoke and mirrors leads only to smoke and fire...but cultural intoxication and cultural arrogance prevents you from seeing it.
And a “gagillion” of you beat your wives daily and a “gagillion” more murder their wives…but what does it mean? It has always been that way since the dawn of time, knuckle dragging men have always done this with no need for justification other than ignorance and brute forc. Verse was revealed to control it, and only the ignorant think the law is the source...wisdom dictates one not blame the medicine for the disease, but the patient for not taking the medicine.
It seems that somehow confusion is the only thing that attracts you...and, yet when truth is mentioned your reaction seems to be hatred. Odd?
Those with true faith know exactly where to begin and what path to stay on in order to get where one ultimately desires to go…yet you, on the other hand, as long as your song and dance puts nickels in the jar you’ll keep at it…pretending all the while that this is your “noble mission” to stamp out what you perceive as an “enemy”…but how devout, one wonders, will you be when your product no longer sells?
Some day I hope people really see you, and other prolific islamophobes like you, as you really are, just bigots spreading hatred and selling copy under the guise of something good.
So, how dedicated would you be if it all had to be given free?
One does wonder...

I'm actually one of the nicest, funniest, sweetest persons I know. Please believe me.
And for you I have just one question in turn, borrowed from a Borscht Belt routine: When did you stop beating your wife?
What a bunch of semi spiritual psycho babble that was Abdullah...Do you talk like that in real life?
Abdullah's had his Spiritual Search. He's found Islam. Islam found him. And Islam 'splains it all to him. Life, you see, is very complicated.
And Islam not only tells the abdullah-mikails of this world everything to think, everythink to do, but also means never having to say you're sorry. Allah Knows Best.
And besides, it's too late. In Islam, for all but the best and brightest and bravest, it's not LIFO or FIFO or any other Generally Accepted Accounting Principle. No, it's OINO, "Once In, Never Out."
Otherwise expressed:
"'I can't get out,' said the starling."
Just think of that. Sterne and Austen and Nabokov, together again at last, right here at Jihad Watch.
"Assault on Free Speech Update -- but sleep on, folks. We all know it can't happen here,"
Its already happened here. What do people think a hate crime law is? It's nothing short of punishing people for what they think. Period.
Abdullah, your writing shows all the signs of trans positivism, also know as TPS -- Trans Positive Syndrome. You should seek medical help at once. It can often be cured if caughtin the early stages.
"how dedicated would you be if it all had to be given free?"
-- an inquiry overlooked before
Believe me, there are all sorts of operators, entrepreneurs and empire-builders of every stripe, in this as in other areas. I'm not one of them. Anyone wishing to take up a collection -- alms for the poor (google "Eleemosynary Position #1 at this site) -- can email those checks made out to me right here and I'll cash 'em. Without any embarrassment or diffidence whatsoever. Avec grand plaisir. I'll even send thanks by e-mail.
Hugh Firzgerald,
From your expressed revulsion at the "contra naturam" of the apologia in the article...apologia for ritual murder, which is really what an honor killing is all about, to the hammer-on-nail poignancy of that one question you asked of Mikhail Abdullah,...
...this thread is you at your very best.
Abdullah Mikhail,
Sincere thanks for giving me a laugh tonight.
Seriously.
Dear Abdullah:
There are more than a few different views of God, and more than a few different views of how to live a decent life among other people without believing in God.
The majority of these views agree on a set of basic principles: You don't steal from anyone, you don't murder anyone, you don't violently assault your wife or daughters or your neighbor's wife or daughters, you don't hurt children, you don't lie to anyone, you forgive, you learn, you love.
Most of the world is coming to a concurrence on these principles. They allow us to live together and enjoy each other's presence with a minimal amount of violence.
The example of Mohammed and the holy texts of Islam violate every single one of these common principles. You've got the choice here. Why not check out what other people think? How can it hurt you?

Or, instead of the azhan, this:

Abdullah Mikail,
The bible says that the children of darkness love the darkness. It doesn't have to be that way. If you, and the rest of the Muslim world, would open your hearts to God and ask sincerly for his truths, he won't foresake you. He will be glad to answere your prayer, and his truth will set you free from the spiritual bondage you now live in.
Try it and see How quickly God will hurry to help you. It is not God's will that any man should perish.
Honor killings only happen within Muslim families. Any detective should want to know why this is.
"Hugh,
When you are an absolute rejecter of God you hold in your heart a poison that touches everything you say or do."
But, Abdullah, what does this gratuitous personal attack of Hugh have to do with the topic?
"of Hugh..."
Should read on Hugh, but you get the idea.
Kemala . . .here is something to dedicate to the intentionally ignorant moral equivalence advocates like Michelle Cho
Aired on Al-Arabiya TV (Dubai/Saudi Arabia) -
Michelle Cho and all who remain intentionally ignorant of the disgusting and pathetic mysogynistic creed of Islam are welcome to submit and become willing victims of this evil cult. But Michelle Cho and her ilk have absolutely no right to demand anyone else should involuntarily submit to such foolish and suicidal ignorance under the misguided notion of moral relativist taqiyya/tuqoque multiculti feel good bull crap.
Abdullah, what's with all the references to "God" in your post? Shouldn't you be writing "Allah", or does that sound too harsh?
And yes, your post was quite a mish-mash of thoughts. Were you drinking when you wrote it?
And Hugh, your 'In Islam, for all but the best and brightest and bravest, it's not LIFO or FIFO or any other Generally Accepted Accounting Principle. No, it's OINO, "Once In, Never Out." has gone straight into my Laughing at Islam file.
When Islam becomes dominant (look at Saudi Arabia for a pure version of this):
-Freedoms are curtailed or non existent (no freedom of religion, unless Islam, no freedom of thought or speech or protest)
-Women are oppressed, (made to wear burkas, not allowed out of the house without a man, not allowed to drive or vote and basically treated like property--and that is the Muslim women! Non Muslim women are treated even worse!)
-Education is inadequate or non-existent (only for boys, only to teach jihad and Jew hatred, and whitewash the bloody history of Islam)
-Apostates, adulterers and homosexuals are killed
-Committing "blasphemy" can get you killed
-Creativity is stifled (innovation is haram, and thinking outside the box is impossible if you can't even see the box)
My question, how can Islam claim to be anything like peace and light when these are the results?
It seems that Islam only brings ignorance, violence, repression, oppression and horror.
Lan Astaslem!
I note that Sarah Fulford is the daughter of veteran Canadian commentator Robert Fulford, who has spoken out about Islam in Canada. It's good to see a family tradition emerging.
OINO is also a call of recognition among Joycean scholars who hail each other on the street that way. Why, just go from Davey Byrnes's pub to 7 Eccles Street, or make it over to the Martello Tower, on any June 16th, and you'll hear, from every street-corner, someone calling someone else with an "Oino, Oino, Oino."
It is apparently is a shortened form of "oinopa ponton" -- the Homeric "wine-dark sea." Gosh, what will those Joyceans think of next?
The term "honor-killing" itself is far too lofty a name for this vile practice. Call it what it is: pride murder.
"When you are a True Believer in Islam..."
More importantly, when you are a True Believer in Political Correctness. If it weren't for these latter True Believers, the former wouldn't be a problem at all. So which is the bigger problem?
"To wit:
"The large-scale presence of Muslims in the countries of the Bilad al-kufr, the Lands of the Infidels, has led to a situation, for both the indigenous non-Muslims and for other, but non-Muslim, immigrants, that is more unpleasant, expensive, and physically dangerous than it would be without such a large-scale presence."
Dare to deny that? Dare to disagree? Look at the United Kingdom. Look at France, Belgium, the Netherlands. Look at Denmark, Norway, Sweden. Look at Italy and look at Spain.
Go ahead. Try to deny it.

so true....bwahahahahahaha...
What a sick, sad shame. Authors like Bridgette Gabriel have beeen pointing out that multi-culteralism with respect to some Arabic cultures simply doesn't work..in fact, that when emboldened by larger numbers and a support network.. that the number of riots, attacks and problems can be almost mathematically predetermined!
What does this say about the nature of these cultures? I'm not sorry, but I personally feel we have a right as a country to expect, not *ask* people living here as citizens to stand up for their adopted country. With every 'honor killing' bombing, stoning of the rape victim, Taqiya, shooting beheading or kidnapping...portions of the Arab world further and faster proves itself unfit to exist in the 21st century, and with every one of these that occurs without a huge outcry from the OTHER muslims, further blurs the lines and sows confusion about exactly whom to trust in our country.
