In Human Events this morning, an update on the stealth jihad:
“A Muslim must try his best to abide by the rulings of Sharia [Islamic law] whenever possible as much as he can. He should not allow himself to be liable to those western laws that contradict the clear-cut Islamic rulings.” The rulings of Sharia, mind you, include stoning for adultery, amputation of the hand for theft, and institutionalized discrimination against women and non-Muslims. But the speaker was not some fanatic Wahhabi in Saudi Arabia; it was the Phoenix-based imam Omar Shahin, president of the North American Imams Foundation. This is probably one reason why, as The Arizona Republic reported Monday, the FBI has stepped up scrutiny of Shahin and other Muslim leaders in Phoenix.Omar Shahin has been in the news before. He is the spokesman for a group of six imams who sued US Airways after being removed from a flight in 2006 when passengers and crewmembers reported that they were behaving suspiciously. The imams were handcuffed and later interrogated, then released with no charges, whereupon Shahin led a news conference to condemn prejudice against Muslims. All six imams later sued the airline, airport police and an FBI agent, claiming they had been singled out solely because they were Muslim. “We did nothing,” Shahin maintained in a report on Boston Herald.com -- and the Council on American Islamic Relations seized on the incident as evidence of American “Islamophobia.” “We are concerned that crew members, passengers and security personnel may have succumbed to fear and prejudice based on stereotyping of Muslims and Islam,” said CAIR’s executive director, Nihad Awad, in the same report.
The imams also initially sued the anonymous passengers who reported them, before House Republicans pushed through a measure protecting whistleblowers in such circumstances. As I discuss in my new book Stealth Jihad, if this initiative had been successful, the only winners would have been Islamic jihadists who wanted to hijack airplanes. Any ruling against the passengers would have essentially placed Muslims beyond the pale of security-related scrutiny, because someone who reported suspicious behavior by a Muslim in an airport or airplane would have faced a real risk of being sued for discrimination.Shahin’s questionable activities didn’t begin with this lawsuit, either. In the '80s, he was an imam at the Islamic Center of Tucson, which the Republic identified as “a hub for adherents to the radical Wahhabi school of Islam, some of whom later became important aides to Osama bin Laden in the al-Qaida terrorist group.” The report by Sean Holstege and Dennis Wagner also notes that Shahin raised funds for two Islamic charities that were ultimately shut down on accusations that they were funneling contributions to the jihad terrorist group Hamas.
Yet despite all this, “Shahin has served as a Muslim community liaison with the FBI and the Phoenix police,” according to the Republic. How did a man with a record like Shahin’s ever get into the good graces of the FBI? He was able to do so because many officials in positions of influence in the United States are standing by passively as the stealth jihad advances. They are ignorant of what is happening, and those who do know are making sure not to tell them. Willfully blind officials appear dedicated to “multiculturalism” and “diversity” no matter what the cost. They hinder the investigation of and resistance to the stealth jihad.
There is no gauging the extent of stealth jihadist infiltration into American intelligence and law enforcement agencies. But there is no question that the chief enabler of that infiltration has been political correctness among American officials. In this great war against the global jihad network, no one wants to appear anti-Arab or anti-Muslim -- and this has led more or less directly to some serious lapses in national security.
If America is to survive, it is eventually going to have to choose national security over political correctness -- and call upon Islamic leaders like Omar Shahin to stop teaching Muslims in the U.S. to disregard American laws when they conflict with Islamic norms. The spectacle of the FBI increasing scrutiny of a man whom they have worked with in the past is ludicrous beyond belief. How many more imams in America will teach Muslims that when Islamic law and U.S. law contradict each other, it is U.S. law that must give way, before those sworn to uphold and defend U.S. law wake up to what is happening?
This would be automatic prosecution and loss of IRS tax exemption if this were any religion/cult other than islam.
Where are America's Patriots?
Welcome to Shariamerica!

Our Fearless Leader has been more eloquent on occasion, but he's never been more true.
alaskan, It's my opinion that the U.S. should not grant tax exempt status to religions soley because they are religions. This loophole is why L. Ron invented COS. Make them open their books and prove they meet the same requirements as non-religious tax-exampt organizations. If the Red Cross can do it so can churches. This would not impinge on any churches right to exist; it would be consistent with the secular government the framers intended.
Word l hear is that if there is another attack on the US, it would give BO more power to take more real freedoms away from Americans. The net would not only cover islamists, but take away freedoms from ordinary Americans. l wonder if the KOS people and their ilk would protest such measures under a Democrat president. This would only happen after BO frees islamists from Gitmo and bring to the US and defended by US funded lawyers, and then free them in the US where they will be causing mischief with the immans expressing sharia for all.
18 USC 115. TREASON, SEDITION, AND SUBVERSIVE ACTIVITIES.
The law is on the books. We just need to summon the courage of our ancestors to enforce it. Until we do, we will continue to die and our children will continue to die in this epic global clash of mutually exclusive ideologies.
MAS,
For the sake of diversity, pluralism, and tolerance, these communities should observe "Muslims Against Sharia Day."
This Omar Shahin is another bent up, dented reject that needs to be shipped back to its manufacturer.
This really shouldn't be so difficult to remedy.
When will our sense of self-defense kick in?
This is the passage that struck me most acutely:
"The spectacle of the FBI increasing scrutiny of a man whom they have worked with in the past is ludicrous beyond belief."
This is related to the article following wherein Senators are asking DoJ to stop its outreach with agitators such as Shahin. I have read nothing to make me confident that the FBI no longer actually works with Shahin or his ilk. It is just as likely that while FBI A-Team monitors, the FBI-B Team shares Iftar dinners.
Speaking of Iftar dinners, I just realized that there were no reports on Bush having the CAIR gang over the White House this year. ???
a bit off topic but you can clearly see that Ruth King speaks for all of us quite well in this article in "Family Security Matters". You can also easily tell she reads Jihadwatch, and has seen the DC Watson list of terrorists, and their enblers in the US.

Arizonan Tells Phoenix Imam To Be Careful What He Asks For:
Our civil society and our regard for the law is what ensures your safety, don't screw it up.
On the other hand, here is a brave Phoenix area Muslim that deserves all the support we can give him, Dr. Zuhdi Jasser:

Richard from above: It's my opinion that the U.S. should not grant tax exempt status to religions soley because they are religions. This loophole is why L. Ron invented COS. Make them open their books and prove they meet the same requirements as non-religious tax-exampt organizations.
Because the government can't really dictate terms of a religion, there are a few things they want an applicant religion for tax exemption to show.
A board of directors, with at least five members but three is acceptable.
The religion should recruit.
Hold regular meetings/services.
Publish literature.
Beyond that there is not much more.
A religion, or religious organization, can operate almost as if the IRS did not exist.
They can invest money, buy property, open business, all with tax free money.
Their books are not open to general inspection. If a problem comes up, the IRS is restricted to the information in question and nothing more.
You do not have to ask anyones permission to start a religion, and you can give yourself any title you want, Priest, Father, Deacon, Reverend.
But if you want a tax free status so you can receive donations, you must jump through some hoops...
In my estimation Islam is not a religion, and should lose it's tax exempt status...
Italy has several requirements of groups in order for them to qualify as religions. They have to have a representative council of 7 people who condemn terrorism/jihad/genocide, they must actively support Israel as a matter of principle, and the establishment must conduct all services in Italian.
The courts haven't legislated what a religion is, but I would imagine that it would have to meet the dictionary definition, i.e., that it would have theology (a relationship between God and man) and base its teachings and practices in morality.
Islam fits none of the above. This is a case that must go to court because it is not a philosophical debate that Islam can win.

Since the US has 'freedom of religion', and the first amendment to the Constitution, it is very lax on who/what qualifies for Religion.
Religions do sometimes come under fire for too much mixing politics with religion.
A Religion or Church can get in big trouble and lose their tax status, by advocating voting for a particular candidate.
I wonder how many Imams in American tax exempt mosques were campaigning for Obama?
I just wrote Senators John McCain and Jon Kyl urging them to see that this creep is prosecuted under 18 USC 115. TREASON, SEDITION, AND SUBVERSIVE ACTIVITIES.
Most of these individuals and organizations could be charged under existing law. Keep after your electeds to see that it happens. I also thanked them for their attention to these threats.

Will Sheriff Joe have fun with these lawbreakers? I think so! haha
duh,
We might get around the religious aspect because they are so obviously political in nature. Once the duality of Islam is recognized and accepted (thank you Bill Warner), we can cauterize one arm of it, the political arm.
Where's DIRTY HARRY when you need him?
"Go ahead & make my Day".....
I think all Americans are for Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Religion & protection of minorities.
We need to be reminded that Islam does not define religion as Westerners do. They do not separate religion from secular/Political as we do. Islam is a totalitarian political doctrine & is not compatible with a democratic society.
Time for "Joe" public to understand this...no more religious freedom for Islam in any Western Society. The free ride needs to be over, especially for this Imam of Phoenix. Maybe a few years in Guantanamo?
In time this situation is going to come to a head, might as well be dealt with now so our children don't need to unravel the mess we got them in with this stealth rat infiltration?
Given that Political Correctness is such an obstacle to addressing the threat of Islam, we need to understand political correctness better. We tend to think of PC as a slightly absurd doctrine that leads to cringeing non-offensive descriptions of social groups. It is that but it is also far more. Try reading Anthony Browne's pamphlet published by Civitas in the UK called The Retreat of Reason: Political Correctness and the Corruption of Public Debate in Modern Britain for a very useful analysis of the origins of PC, its underlying philosophy and the hold it now has over public and private discourse.
One fundamental aspect of PC thinking that he points out is that it always associates the less powerful with good and the more powerful with bad. This is because PC is at bottom a Marxist doctrine. Hence America is always on the side of wrong in the PC universe because America is powerful. Palestinians are virtuous and can be handed endless excuses for their behaviour, whilst the relatively powerful Israel, backed by the all-powerful USA is necessarily wicked. We have a natural tendency to side with victims and PC always defines those perceived as less powerful as the victims. Issues of right and wrong are seen only in terms of power. Those who are seen as less powerful in a given struggle are deemed to be right.
Whilst it may initially have produced some benefits in changing perceptions of social groups who have traditionally been disadvantaged by prejudice, it has now achieved such a hold over people's thinking that we are very fearful of deviating from the PC script. Public figures will look for answers that don't contradict the PC formulas and become so habituated to PC responses that their minds short-circuit to the PC response.
Jihadwatch readers will be well aware of how muslims are able to portray themselves as hapless victims and as a relatively powerless group suffering from stigmatization and prejudice. They are thus able to play the PC card to its full advantage. PC logic says that since muslims are less powerful (perhaps even a victim group on a par with Jews in Hitler's Germany), they must be on the side of right. To criticise them or take measures against them would be to put ourselves on the side of evil. Until we break this stranglehold and realize that relative power is not the basis of right and wrong; that minorities are not always vulnerable and may even have very powerful allies; that any victimhood that muslims have is largely of their own making and that of their religion we will continue to falter in the defence of the most benign, fruitful, technically advanced, tolerant civilization that has so far existed on earth.
Got news...You have hundreds of other imams teaching the same thing all around the country and a lot of Muslim fathers telling their children that they should not care about the American law.
This is what I heard in one mosque on the eve of Thanksgiving YEARS AGO, " this is not an islamic celebration. don't let the Americans get you. don't celebrate"
Malta_1565, you should post in here more often. Totally. Nobody plays the victim card better than Muslims, and they do it so smugly while parasitizing everyone around them and doing as little work as possible, not to mention being hired to jobs and admitted to schools for which they are vastly unqualified, then, when they don't pull their weight, they play victim the card again.
It never ceases to astound me how Muslims have absolutely no shame in doing this. And Israel is not powerful. Israel is brilliant and incredibly adept at protecting itself, but the powerful thing is another illusion created by PC rhetoric. They're as powerful as Switzerland of Denmark or any other tiny democracy, if anything less so because they have so much money and so much of their young workforce tied up in national security, along with a parasite problem which is similar in scale. And as the years go by, the parasites get more and more resources that should be going to the old people who created those welfare states. And they all have way too many Muslims proportionally, to the extent that they're almost uninhabitable.
This is a pattern across the non-Islamic world.
US,Australia, and the UK:Islamic Leaders Calling for Sharia law
http://islaminaction08.blogspot.com/2008/11/usaustraliaand-ukislamic-leaders-call.html
Exposing Islam
this ever-increasing barrage of calls for sharia suggests to me that the Mohammedans within the non-Muslim lands are feeling stronger.
We *have* to hammer them back down.
We have to educate our non-Muslim religious and political leaders - and our journalists and lawyers - as to what, precisely, sharia is: all the multiple horrors and systematised injustices and revolting cruelties that it permits and prescribes, that it *approves* of.
Start with the fact that it permits forcible marriage to, and forcible marital relations with, prepubescent girls;
and that it justifies that revoltingly barbaric practice by reference to the 'perfect' example of Mohammed who as an old man married a six year old and bedded her when she turned nine; and that the Qur'an takes it for granted that a divorced female may, on occasion, not yet have gotten her periods; that is, that she has been wedded, and bedded, and divorced, before she even menstruates for the first time.
And note that all over the western world - most recently, a report from Australia that features in another thread right here at jihadwatch - Muslims within that western world, are practising marriage - including forced marriage, which amounts to marital rape, of underage girls, in conformity with sharia, and in total contempt of Western law.
