UK jihadist Abu Qatada held over bail breach

Every advantage handed to him, and he blew it

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

"Muslim cleric Abu Qatada held over bail breach," by David Leppard in the Sunday Times, November 9 (thanks to Jeffrey Imm):

The terror suspect Abu Qatada — once described by a judge as Osama Bin Laden’s “right-hand man” in Europe — was arrested at his west London home yesterday.

According to supporters he was “forcibly arrested” at 7.30am and taken to Belmarsh prison. Sources said he was due before the Special Immigration Appeals Commission (SIAC) this week; he is believed either to have broken bail conditions or to have been planning to do so.

Qatada was released from Long Lartin prison in June after winning his fight against deportation to Jordan, where he was convicted in his absence of involvement in terror attacks. Since then he has been living under strict bail conditions, pending a hearing at the House of Lords. An eight-page list of the conditions, includes putting him under a 22-hour curfew. He is also tagged and forbidden from using mobile phones, computers or the internet.

The SIAC deals with appeals in cases where the home secretary uses his power to deport someone from the UK on national security grounds. It described Qatada in March 2004 as a “truly dangerous individual at the centre of Al-Qaeda’s activities in the UK”.

I'm sick of this man. Human Rights ought only to be for humans and not monsters.

I understand that our prisons are hotbeds for Al-Quaeda recruiters so these sort of people ought to be sent back home.

There have been 2 articles in the British press on the back of Obama getting the presidency of how there is a glass ceiling for non-whites over here. I noticed that both were non-whites with chips on their shoulders and working in Human rights and ethnic equality positions - how they haven't noticed all the 40+ year old non-whites in senior positions in all walks of life, I just don't know. If one makes excuses for people, then they will be filled.

I am so happy at this news.
He should not have been released in the first place and be able to walk the streets of the UK, albeit for only 2hrs a day.
Thats all people like this need to cause death and mayhem to the population they live among.

The longer the government appeases Islam with situation such as these the more angrier the British people will get.
They don't seem to realise it but the British Politicians are actually creating a very bad future for themselves. For them to punish the everyday working man, arrest Non Muslims for Freedom of Speech, prosecute OAP's and law abiding citizens for minuscule misdemeanours, use terrorist laws in order to catch them for such pathetic offences as putting their rubbish out a day early etc and yet not do anything to a man, not even British, who has preached for the death of British Citizens and the Islamisation of the UK is beyond contempt for the British public.

This man should either be hanging from a Noose in Jordan or under 24 hour solitary confinement in a top security prison, funded of course by Jordan. The longer people like him are allowed to stay in the UK, the worse Politicians punishments will be when the public turn not only on the Muslims but them also.

Meaningless. He'll be released.

There's a thing called the razor.

deport him immediately , whether he likes it or not..

What many Europhiles, including many Nu-Labour Politiicains don’t seem to realise is that someone like Abu Qatada can stay in Britain because it is impossible to deport him due to The Human Rights Act 1998, a piece of law which originated in Brussels.

The Human Rights Act 1998 is an Act of the Westminster Parliament which makes the European Convention on Human Rights part of the law of all parts of the UK.

The more self-Government Britain signs away to Brussels, the more powerless we are to enact simple, self-defense measures such as deporting this man.

Deport him? Rather bold step to expect of the Eloi, especially as there are probably a couple of Morlocks in important cushy seats in government that can scotch it any time.

Imagine you're cutting your grass with your power mower and imagine the "flipped" image of this humanoid ..as in beard first upright jumping out of the hole..the mound you've broken the blade off at least once-since repaired ..a mole hill..a vole hill...and then THIS hairy thing presents out of the same hole in your yard...are you going to reign back on the handle....honestly, what is your first impression of this formerly human-at-birth-now resembling a human but on further scrutiny ....a murderer, abetting murder..this object is no longer a member of the human race...a follower of the greatest fraud ever know to man...Mo

So am I missing something here? if Qatada was seen wandering around afghanistan by US special forces, an executive decision would almost certainly be given to take him out.

Yet because he is in Londonistan, he is at liberty to walk around unharmed and free?

What's the point in this war? Are we fighting them over there so we don't have to fight them over here?

Who the hell is making this stuff up?

So what if the entire Ummah Alqeda leadership suddenly decide to relocate to the west? Surely they would be safer adn free to carry on their jihad with the only threat being a few years in Belmarsh prison and a captive audience, (no pun intended)

During the Cold War all kinds of things happened to people, and not all such acts were done by the other, enemy side. There is a Russian general at the bottom of a lake, for example.

It is crazy not to remove, in one way or another, such dangerous people from our midst. By all means deport Qatada to Jordan. If the European "community" doesn't like it, then that's a good reason either to withdraw from that factitious "community" or to redraw its agreements.

Once Qatada, and others like him, are sent back, as Muslims, to Muslim states, what those Muslim states do is not our affair. Our affair is with what they do to non-Muslims, those who may still be living in such Muslim-dominated lands, and those who, outside such lands, are threateend.

And the whole Guantanamo business, which was the result of a sweep that resulted in all kinds of people, in an atmosphere of confusion and haste and panic, being either captured or turned in by those eager for a reward, and that means that along with the very guilty there have been some innocents. And no one quite knew what to do. But the fantastic expense, and the fantastic public-relations damage being done the cause, should make the American government think much more about the need to be surer of who is being picked up, by whom, and why, and when there are the obviously dangerous, they should not necessarily be taken into custody. There are other ways to handle a problem on this scale.

You got it in one!
Because our government promised the people a referendum on Europe(they lied) and signed the Treaty of Lisbon, they effectively signed away the British Government's choice on who they allow in and who they allow out. The EU(Brussels) controls the UK. Not only does it decide the above, it also decides how much food we can produce, how much fish we can catch and where we can catch it etc etc.
Allowing this man to stay in the UK, NOT EVEN LOCKED UP, is an afront to every serviceman and woman in this country. It is also a slap in the face to those families who have lost loved ones. It is disgraceful that the government be allowed to any Remembrance Sunday parade to lay wreaths, when on one minute they are fighting Islamic Terrorism out with the UK but openly allowing the Islamisation of it.

Nothing the British people can do. Hell, we never even got a decision on being in Europe and worse still, whether or not we wanted this buffoon of a Prime Minister to lead us or not.

It's all rather pathetic really. The government is guilty of the highest treason to the British People.

You know I hear this argument from bloggers around Europe after any islamic terror attack. "more people die from car accidents than terrorism". Because the Muslims jihadists, or whatever you call them, are launching terror attacks maybe 1 per every 3 or 4 years, people forget about the attacks, and so over time it appears that there is no war. But Muslims seem to be on another time frame, theirs is a war of slow attrition. Taking an mile of land every year, taking one European law per every 10 years and changing it into their favor, perverting ancient customs and traditions and making those traditions illegal within the homelands of the generous welcoming indigenous peoples.

Dam....can you imagine the money being spent on this turd, when a single HP would relieve the pressure in his head?

Where is 007, licensed to kill, at when you need him for NATIONAL SECURITY cases?

UK, time to fight back, & HARD. Being politically correct is not working.

I'll drink to that post of yours, Hugh.

Perfect.

And probably more people are murdered by someone they know than by terrorists. What would these people say if a member of their family was murdered by a stranger or a friend or a relative? Would they shrug it off, saying more people are killed in car accidents?

There is one huge difference between a death from a car accident and a death from terrorism: one is intentional and the other is not. Let them look up the word: ACCIDENT.

TERRORISM IS NO ACCIDENT!

Uh huh...And what is he doing with those beads?

Counting beads is a Hindu and Catholic thing to to. Japa with a mala, and the Rosary. It is not called for in the Quran and is un-Islamic...Bring this guy up on charges of apostasy and let the Iranians sort it out...

I can't count the beads in the photo, but if there are 108 of them, he is a Hindu in disguise...

I read in the DT that Qatada was attempting to leave the country when apprehended. If this is the case why on earth didn't they let him go and prevent him from coming back in as they did with that other animal Bakri.

Couldn't agree more Tommo, I'm livid at the thought that we could have dumped this bugger abroad, and a bunch of government 'crats forced him to stay here in the UK.

It is the antics of our mainstream political parties which will usher in the era of the British National Party. That outfit is beginning to take off in a big way. I have my misgivings about them, but the British working class have no-one else to vote for now.
