This shows the true mentality of the fanatic. A belief and value system which is so powerful and entrenched that there can be no shifting it. There can be no negotiating with people with this mindset, the scenario is a very simple one, - it is us or them! That is the only way they see it! they are right, (in this case because God cannot be wrong) and everyone else is wrong. As far as they are concerned there is no negotiating to be done, we must be converted, subdued, or exterminated. That is their solution. I take the "We" to include all Muslims over the age of reason (with a few exceptions). By the time Muslim children reach the age of reason they are thoroughly indoctrinated with Mohammad/Allah worship and the Koran. (It may be true that the Muslim child could be taken away at an early age and placed under foster care but in the real world this is not going to happen.)
All Muslims are not killers but with few exceptions, they all support the killers. This makes them just as guilty and as serious an enemy as the killers.

First, the President must ask Congress to declare war. Second, Congress must do so, not simply pass a resolution supporting the President.
Such actions clear up the whole situation. In WW2 there were no tribunals for captured pilots or submarine crewmen because they were prisoners of war, and as such, covered by international treaties. They had committed no crimes, but had simply obeyed the laws of their countries.
However, to be covered by the rules of war, a soldier had to be in uniform, and to have military identity papers. A behind-the-lines saboteur, in plain clothes, or a soldier disguised in enemy uniform (as with certain German troops, disguised in American uniforms, during the Battle of the Bulge) was not covered by the treaties, and could be summarily shot. And many were.
Thus if we actually declared war against the Taleban or al-Qaeda, then any we captured would simply be prisoners of war -- assuming they had Tal. or al-Q papers -- and would be held until the conclusion of the war (which might be quite a while). Those without papers could simply be shot.
Allah doesn't like anyone.
