"In South Africa, because of apartheid, all different communities were set up and it worked well."
Not unlike the ways in which the dhimma laws "work well" for keeping the infidels in their supposed place. "Muslims plan $10m enclave," by Kim MacDonald for The West, December 13 (thanks to all who sent this in):
The Islamic community plans to build a Muslim-only housing development and recreation centre as part of a $10 million complex in Rivervale.
Islamic Council of WA spokesman Rahim Ghauri said the group had an architect-designed concept plan for a six-storey housing development, an underground carpark and a hall for weddings, conferences and religious and recreational activities.
Mr Ghauri rejected claims the housing would further isolate sectors of the Muslim community from mainstream society, claiming the venue would be used to teach Islamic youth how to become good Australian citizens.
And the council’s religious adviser, Abdul Jalil Ahmad, said it was useful for different religious or ethnic groups to have separate residential enclaves so their customs and exotic cooking smells did not offend neighbours.
“It’s ideal for any ethnic group because you can deal with each other in an easier way,” Mr Ahmad said.
“In South Africa, because of apartheid, all different communities were set up and it worked well. It kept people separate. We can be together in terms of our contribution to the wider community.”
Mr Jalil, who once tried to set up a sharia court in WA to settle disputes in the Muslim community through an incorporated body, plans to live in the 20-unit complex on the community’s 1280sqm Malvern Street block.
Mr Rahim said it would provide affordable housing for Muslims and be first-stop accommodation for Islamic students and newcomers to help integrate them into society.
The group wants donations from “generous Muslims” locally and all over the world for the complex and so far had $100,000. He declined to reveal who was approached but said all donations would be declared to the Government.
The council hoped to buy neighbouring vacant land from Landcorp to extend the development, possibly with offices, another carpark and sporting facilities.
Mr Rahim said WA’s Muslim community was one of the only religious groups which did not have its own recreation centre. It would offer to rent the hall to non-Muslims.
He said the inclusion of units was necessary to pass local planning laws but the council would include the Muslim-only housing block even if it was forced to move to another area.
Ethnic Communities Council president Ramdas Sankaran supported the development of a Muslim recreation hall but said a separate housing complex for any religious or ethnic group was a “deplorable” idea because it undermined social cohesion and promoted segregation.
He said there was an argument for separate aged-care facilities based on race or religion, but building a general housing complex for families set a dangerous precedent which he believed would not have support in the Muslim or broader communities.
“Self exclusion is just as bad as being excluded by other parties in Australia. It’s not in the interests of any group,” Mr Sankaran said.
Belmont mayor Glenys Godfrey had informal talks with the group but a council spokesman said it could not comment until it saw the plans.
My God, if the positive reference to Apartheid in South Africa doesn't alert the Australians that something is terribly wrong with this picture, then nothing will.
In short: Separated and unequal
- It seems to be the recipe for apartheid, Islamic supremacy and the death of multiculturalism.
“In South Africa, because of apartheid, all different communities were set up and it worked well. It kept people separate. We can be together in terms of our contribution to the wider community.”
It worked very well, but if you were black, Indian or coloured, it did not work so well.
This just goes to show how Muslim's think.
Given a chance, they would enslave the blacks in South Africa without a moments hesitation, and it would be a much sorrier situation than under the "apartheid regime"
“In South Africa, because of apartheid, all different communities were set up and it worked well. It kept people separate. We can be together in terms of our contribution to the wider community.”
This is astonishing that he actually gets away with saying this. Now, in the name of multiculturalism, segregation and apartheid is a good thing.
Burqa is Liberation
Polygamy is Equality
Lapidation is Mercy
Apartheid is Tolerance
War is Peace
Freedom is Slavery
Ignorance is Strength
I am Australian. I don't want to live in South Africa.
Note that there is, very carefully, no mention of a mosque?
But I'll bet they plan to build a monstrous big one anyway.
Perhaps the mosque is concealed beneath this sentence: "a hall for weddings, conferences and religious and recreational activities."
And I do wonder what sort of conferences they have in mind.
Hizb-ut-Tahrir?
A few other sentences that stood out.
This:"Mr Jalil, who once tried to set up a sharia court in WA to settle disputes in the Muslim community through an incorporated body, plans to live in the 20-unit complex".
Got that? - 'who once tried to set up a sharia court in WA'.
And this: "Mr Rahim said it would provide affordable housing for Muslims and be first-stop accommodation for Islamic students and newcomers to help integrate them into society".
First stop accommodation for Islamic students and newcomers...convenient, secure flop-house for visiting jihadists?
On the other hand, there's one tiny glimmer of light in the report. Look at the name of the person who said 'a separate housing complex for any religious or ethnic group was a “deplorable” idea because it undermined social cohesion and promoted segregation' and challenged the idea of 'self-exclusion'.
A good Indian name, a good Indian HINDU name by the looks of it: "Ramdas Sankaran".
Keep making noise, Mr Sankaran. Make LOTS of noise. And be sure to tell all the other non-Muslims on that Ethnic Community Council, what the Muslim enclaves are like back home in India, how they establish themselves, and grow, and spread, and bully and drive out their neighbours.
Seems to me that we Aussie jihadwatchers need to send some letters of appreciation to Mr Sankaran re. his opposition to the establishment of a closed camp/ fortress of Mohammedans on Australian soil.
Non-Muslim West Australians of every colour and background should be fighting this oh-so-innocent proposal tooth and nail.
Now, an Amish community or Benedictine monastery would be one kind of thing.
A closed community of Muslims is quite another. I'll bet the idea is to be able to plot and train for Jihad without any nosy neighbours getting suspicious.
In light of my remark above about Muslim enclaves in India, how they establish themselves and what they then do, here
http://www.jihadwatch.org/archives/017169.php#c414583
is a very arresting posting from the jihadwatch archives, by a non-Muslim Indian, one 'Arjun Sevak', which described that ugly process as he himself had observed it and suffered from it:
It was posted in the comments field of an article from 29 June 2007,
http://www.jihadwatch.org/archives/017169.php
entitled ‘Majid Khadduri and George W Bush’.
Here's Arjun's story.
"I grew up in a middle class neighbourhood. It was a beautiful place with 2 parks for the kids and trees lining the roads. The housing society of the area had made around 150 homes there around 50 years back. We bought that house when I was a kid.
" Just across the road, the government gave a bit of land for a mosque. The area surrounding the mosque was open and everything seemed to be all right.
"Then the mosque speakers went up. The mullah of the mosque used to give the azan 5 times a day but it was not very loud and did not reach our homes.
"Slowly, muslims started encroaching on the empty area around the mosque. They started with small shacks and gradually built up.
"About 3 years ago, some saudi sheikh gave some money to this mosque and they put up a minaret over a hundred feet high.
" Now the entire area around the mosque is a complex maze of alleys. That area is now a muslim ghetto.
"The mosque has high decibel speakers that violate all the noise pollution norms but no infidel dares to complain.
"The azans are so loud that they reach every home of our society.
"And [from] time to time, a "scholar from mecca" visits the mosque and gives sermons at the top of his voice.
"I moved to another location because my mother has a heart condition and the azan and the screaming, hysterical sermons was bad for her blood pressure. It woke everyone up at 5 a.m. everyday and the sermons lasted entire days.
" I loved that house and I clung to it for some time, hoping that maybe I could move back again.
"Then I realized that that area is turning islamic and I sold my house. Now people tell me that I was wise to do so, since property prices are coming down in the area.
"Since we moved a year back, more than 10 families quit the area.
"Now we are very far away from that place and I still feel bad about my home, but I know that I did the right thing by moving.
" The trees around my housing society are slowly disappearing since the muslims gangs come at night and cut them up for firewood.
"The dogs of that area are dying because the muslims run their cabs over them.
"One cannot leave anything in the garden since things just disappear at night. They even steal light bulbs from the porches.
"Point of this long post is, we don't force them to live in ghettos, they themselves create their own slums.
"They don't like living in housing societies and the mosque is the centre of their existence.
"They create their ghettos around mosques so that they can answer the azan 5 times a day.
"And this is how they take over us, bit by bit, house by house, area by area."

Any West Australians or Perth residents here present: send Arjun Sevak's cri de coeur to 'Belmont mayor Glenys Godfrey'. It's a classic account of Muslim incrementalism: takeover bit by bit. The proposed West Australian Muslim beachhead is a bit more in your face, and starts at the top end of the market, but I have absolutely no doubt that the end result, if it is permitted, will be as dismal as that which Arjun describes, for Islam is...Islam.
Now looking more closely of the photo of the jihad barber I can understand why he changed occupation.
No one in their right mind would let this man near their neck with a sharp barber knife. So as the standard explanation goes: Poverty drove him to become a jihadi fighter.
Sorry - my comment should have been placed in the JW section about the Jihad Barber.
Just watch the people who were hysterical about South African Apartheid and who foam at the mouth over the Israeli defense walls, cave on this and purr like house cats.
This is no more or less than a strategy for the survival of a primitive cult within a modern society.
Keep the members isolated. 'Protect' them from outside influence. Don't let them see the superior life of those outside the cult.
That the leaders feel the need to advance this strategy is rather a poor reflection on their own belief system.
A closed community of Muslims is quite another. I'll bet the idea is to be able to plot and train for Jihad without any nosy neighbours getting suspicious.
That's the worst-case scenario. More likely (not that I would rule that out) it's because their social practices are so unacceptable. Remember Ayaan Hirsi Ali's account of nighttime in Riyadh, with all the women screaming as they got beaten by their slave-owners. Think of how loudly little girls must scream as they get genitally mutilated. Think of how loudly girls scream as their families murder them. Think how loudly little kids scream as their father, brothers, and imams rape them. Think of how loudly grown women scream as their husbands, uncles, and fathers-in-law rape them. Think of how dismayed ordinary Aussies would be at the sight of a sheep getting slaughtered in a front yard, or a polygamous family, or a 7-year-old who is "married" to a 40-year-old relative. That's what he wants to hide. He doesn't want non-Muslims who can testify to what they hear or see their neighbors doing. In short, he wants the cruel banlieues in Australia. Infidel should have learned from the French by now.
You would think that while their population is still small they would at least try to act like they plan to assimilate, but that's never how it goes. That's why MSAs/MSUs have specific instructions as to how to continually push for segregation. In Australia they have separate bathrooms at universities.
There are several reasons for having a closed community.
It's easier to apply pressure on members when there are no outsiders.
It's easier to maintain surveillance on members when everyone around them, and everyone they interact with, are fellow Muslims.
Conversely, it's easier to maintain security against police surveillance when there are only loyal Muslims able to observe events.
It's harder to leave Islam when you don't have much contact with non-Muslims. Consider the plight of a Muslim woman in such a community. She shops at local Muslim stores, her neighbors are Muslim, and if she attempts to leave the borders of the community it will be noted.
Its marginally better than in the UK in that they do not actually drive the kuffurs out first. But the end result is the same an islamic statelet closed to kuffurs - and their laws.
They are starting to take over my area and I know I will have to eventually leave my beloved house and garden, because there is a mosque not far away. They go around offering more than the market price of houses, and I have heard are threatening at auctions.
There is a drought here (Australia). A Muslim woman was at my house and I commented on the amount of water she was using to wash a cup or something. "But water is free for me!" she laughed. She has government housing FOREVER and does not have to pay for water as the rest of us do, and as it is not her country (although she has been here for many years) she sees no reason to worry about water. My kids were really annoyed too.
Yes, a bad drought but they still keep coming; it is their "human right" to keep coming with their dodgy "refugee" stories and neverending welfare requirements.
"Yes, a bad drought but they still keep coming; it is their "human right" to keep coming with their dodgy "refugee" stories and neverending welfare requirements. "
typical mohammedan mentality, they think the world owes them everything. they are such despicable people.
PG - your story about Muslim aggression when they set out to 'take over' an area - offering high prices, but also making threats - reminds me of a piece that was published in the Sydney Morning Herald by Australian journalist/ commentator Paul Sheehan, some time ago, and linked here.
http://www.smh.com.au/news/paul-sheehan/ideals-become-casualties-of-war/2006/08/13/1155407666922.html
(It also chimes with stories that some UK contributors here have shared - stories about aggressive Mohammedans moving into an area and deliberately harassing elderly homeowners in order to force them to sell up and leave).
Here's the most striking section of Paul Sheehan's SMH piece, from August 14 2006. I have added running comments in brackets thus {- }
SYDNEY MORNING HERALD: August 14 2006.
'A minority causes collateral damage to the way we live,
writes Paul Sheehan.
'(1) One of the edges of the global clash between Muslims and the rest is a bottle shop in a small and ratty shopping mall in western Sydney.
'The owner of the bottle shop is suffering low-level but steady harassment from his neighbours, who want him gone.
'He's a Christian who has been told repeatedly: "This is a Muslim area," and he is selling alcohol, which is proscribed by Islam.
{Note: the Muslims have ‘colonised’ the area and are enforcing Shariah - dda}
'The one-hour parking zone outside the bottle shop is always occupied because local Muslims leave their cars there all day.
'The owner has written to the local council to complain, and nothing has been done.
'He does not want to be identified because he fears retribution.
' His reaction is sensible.
('2) A friend of mine, Jenny D, used to live in Lakemba.
'She began receiving insults from people in the street, usually Muslim women wearing headscarves {NB - the same *women* who would doubtless howl with outrage if an Australian woman commented upon their ugly hijab..dda} and sometimes Muslim men.
'If she wore a short skirt, she could expect abuse or comment.
'She left Lakemba.
{This is Jihad: driving out non-Muslims by bullying and threats - abominable behaviour, totally uncivil. This has got to be challenged, exposed, and hammered into the ground, somehow - dda}.
'Soon after, I [Mr Sheehan] moved to America, stayed away for 10 years, and thought nothing more of her story.
'But after I came back to Sydney I found Jenny's experience had been part of a larger pattern.
'(3) One particularly strong witness to this pattern was Judith, who managed an agency helping {Australian} war widows,
'because she encountered "dozens" of cases where people were harassed by Muslim neighbours who wanted them gone.
'' "It was common," she told me. "A lot of these ladies couldn't take it and moved out.
'It happened in Campsie, Belmore, Lakemba, Bankstown, Punchbowl ...'
"It was everything ... throwing rubbish over the fence, screaming abuse, blocking the driveway, knocking fences down.
" One guy would throw coffee grains on the windows and bottles on the roof late at night ...
" I confronted some of them, and the men would call me a lot of names, mostly in Arabic."..{This is DESPICABLE ...This is Jihad, suburban style - dda}." END EXCERPT.
Now: the report on the proposed Muslim enclave/ colony/ fortress, was written by Kim Macdonald and published by 'The West', a Perth newspaper.
I suggest that West Australian jihadwatchers (and some of us other Aussies here ) should communicate with Ms Macdonald and her editor, enclosing copy (suitably referenced ) of Mr Sheehan's article, and referring them also to Tim Priest's classic Quadrant article from 2004, on 'the rise of middle eastern crime in Australia' (which is, in fact, all about the beginnings of jihad in Australia, after the Muslim population had attained critical mass):
http://www.australian-news.com.au/Tim_Priest.htm
QUADRANT Volume XLVIII Number 1 - January-February 2004
"The Rise of Middle Eastern [note: more properly, Muslim – S.] Crime in Australia
Tim Priest".
Tim Priest notes that the Muslim crime gangs were in a class of their own, in terms of the extreme violence they routinely employed, the fact that they consistently targeted non-Muslims (though he doesn't see the significance of that) whereas East Asian gangs primarily afflicted their own populations, and the fact that their population of origin (other Muslims) consistently refused to assist law enforcement in tackling them, whereas other communities (such as the Chinese Vietnamese immigrants) were quite eager to cooperate.
BTW Lebanese Muslim organised criminals' latest exploits involve the exploding of ATMs in NSW, Victoria and Queensland, in order to remove the cash. Massive associated property damage, of course. A Lebanese Muslim man and his kafir-origin wife (a convert to Islam?) were just arrested for carrying out two such bank robberies in Queensland...they were already out on bail for association with 'car rebirthing', and the police suspect they were not acting alone but as part of an organisation.
The Sheehan and Priest articles I have linked here, should also be sent to Mr Ramdas Sankaran, with a suitable covering letter.
West Australia should NOT be letting any more Muslims in, nor making any accommodations for them, at all, at all, at all. The overall Muslim record is ugly, everywhere they go. The more Mohammedans there are in any given area, the more likely it is that Jihad of various kinds will be engaged in, against the surrounding kafir neighbours. The plain evidence of history is that Muslims in any significant number simply cannot and will not coexist as peaceful equals with *anybody*; the jihad imperative, to attack, bully, harass, rob, dominate, and ultimately drive out or even kill the non-Muslim 'Other' is just too strong.
Dda: It gets worse and the years roll by. STILL if I bring up the topic with other people they DON'T CARE. They just find me irritating, or even if they half-agree think that somehow, in the end, the Muslims will prosper and calm down and live like the rest of us. The only ones who are beginning to wake up are those who PERSONALLY know English people - it seems reading the news is not enough. It is so disheartening; I have seen this coming for nearly twenty years and I am so angry with Australian people and their materialism and PC thinking.
I was reading today about WW1 in an article in the paper and the stupid writer talked about the "futility of war". It occurred to me, with horror, that the generations born after WW2 HAVE made the wars our parents fought in "futile", because they have not guarded the freedom they were given on a plate, but have squandered it with disdain for the idea of fighting for anything. "Pacifism" has proved to be a selfish, lethal "cause", with a terrible legacy for our children, who may or may not fight for the freedom our mob have seen fit to give up.
PG
you must be dealing with different people from me!
Please don't lose hope. There is at least one person in the Senate who is 'on side'. I won't name him here, but believe me, he knows what's what.
*Whenever* a journalist (e.g. Stephen Crittenden - he has read Spencer and I'm convinced he's taken him seriously), politician, newspaper editor, religious leader (e.g. Cardinal George Pell), or any other person publicly shows evidence of being aware of the danger of jihad and sharia and willing to resist it...make sure you write and tell them so, and heap praise and encouragement upon them.
Start compiling a list of *anyone* who shows signs of fight. Encourage them! Think of the Mayor of Camden. I emailed him and explained exactly why his council's refusal to allow the building of an Islamic school could be construed as neither racist nor bigoted/ intolerant.
Find out who the Resident Action Groups are, in Bass Hill/ Bankstown, and in Camden, and have a go at educating them. After all, they're already opposing the Muslim developments. Find out what their reasons are, and send them a polite, informative letter providing them with *more* reasons, starting with all the evidence of the ghastly antisemitic and anti-Infidel hate-teachings that have been found in the curricula of Muslim schools just about everywhere.
Quadrant has published some interesting stuff - such as Tim Priest's article in 2004. Check them out and if they've followed up with other things of similar quality, write and congratulate them.
The 'Australian' has run some good articles: watch for the bylines, write to the editor and commend the journalists by name.
The Sydney Writers' Festival had Ayaan Hirsi Ali as guest speaker, last year and she spoke to packed houses.
Rev Dr Mark Durie is priest in a parish church in Melbourne. He wrote a couple of articles for Mr Spencer's 'Myth of Islamic Tolerance'. You can be sure he's quietly spreading the word in his parish and in other circles (he has academic connections). And he's not the only one.
Patrick Sookhdeo laid things on the line pretty clearly for a huge mass of assembled Sydney Anglicans at their big beanfeast up at Katoomba last year - so I heard from one who had been there and heard him speak. And if the Sydney Anglicans wake up, that's the single biggest, richest, noisiest Anglican diocese in the country.
Daniel Shayesteh has been doing the rounds of the pentecostal/ charismatic/ churches of Christ network in Australia and NZ.
I think the alarm is slowly, steadily, spreading, just perhaps not in the kinds of places you're looking.
Remember: the biggest temptation, for people like us, is despair.
But think. Ten years ago, who could have predicted that Oriana Fallaci would write her Trilogy? Who could have predicted that Geert Wilders would step up to the plate? Who could have predicted the apostasy of Wafa Sultan or Magdi Cristiano Allam? And twenty-plus years ago, a young Muslim converted to Christianity on a secular 1960s UK university campus, and became Patrick Sookhdeo, priest...and indefatigable whistleblower about Jihad in the UK. There will, I am convinced, by the grace of YHWH, be other surprises.
Our job, as ordinary citizens, is to keep on keeping on...to borrow a Tolkienesque image, we must just go on blowing the Horn Call of Buckland, 'Awake! Fear! Fire! Foes! Awake!'
Ooops - slight error in the above - forty-plus years ago, not twenty-plus years ago.
Nonetheless, this plan should be held to the same public ridicule in Australia as was Sheikh Hilali of the 'uncovered meat' fame.
Infidel Pride - good point.
Now - click on the link to the original news story, find out how to contact 'The West' newspaper, and make that point in a letter to the editor.
Mention of apartheid provides a good opportunity to raise the subject of the dhimma and dhimmitude. Dhimmitude = religion-based apartheid. Explain that dhimmis - non-Muslims in Muslim lands - lived, and according to Muslim sharia law are supposed to live, in a condition of religiously-mandated institutionalised degradation, humiliation and physical insecurity, far worse than the lot of, inter alia, southern blacks under Jim Crow, Australian Aborigines in the bad old days 'under the [Aborigines' "Protection"] Act', or South African non-whites under apartheid.
One can of course, also, point out the real meaning of the much-ballyhooed 'protection' of non-Muslims by Muslims...that it was exactly the same as the extremely expensive 'protection' provided by the likes of Don Corleone, that is, that the Muslims ran what we would call a 'protection racket', extorting jizya by the threat of violence if their non-Muslim victims did not pay up.
Refer people to Bat Yeor's 'The Dhimmi' and 'Islam and Dhimmitude', and to Mr Spencer's 'The Myth of Islamic Tolerance' and quote surah 9:29 of the Quran.
Dda, Sorry, I was so annoyed about that enclave story, but really I have not lost heart. And thankyou so much for telling me about Mark Durie some time ago. I read what he wrote and rang him up, and he put me onto a very good group of people I have now met up with, and it was great to meet a bunch of sane, dedicated souls...but I know I cannot neglect the front line, as it were, and I have to be patient and remember that things take time, and that;
There are two kinds of people: comfort-seekers and truth-seekers. I fall into one of these camps, and it is a mixed blessing sometimes!
