Honor killing in Pakistan: Girl clubbed to death by uncle

A manual of Islamic law certified by Al-Azhar as a reliable guide to Sunni orthodoxy says that "retaliation is obligatory against anyone who kills a human being purely intentionally and without right." However, "not subject to retaliation" is "a father or mother (or their fathers or mothers) for killing their offspring, or offspring's offspring." ('Umdat al-Salik o1.1-2).

In other words, someone who kills his child incurs no legal penalty under Islamic law.

"Girl clubbed to death by uncle," by Khadijah Shah of the Rays of Development Organisation, at STOP! Honour Killings, December 9 (thanks to Religion of Peace):

Bahawalpur, Pakistan: One young girl was clubbed to death by her uncle for her alleged illicit relations with a man in TM Pannah Police jurisdiction here on Thursday. Accused Fida Hussain, uncle of Shehnaz Bibi, found her niece sitting with her alleged paramour Amir Khan. He took her to her house and later clubbed her to death.

Police have registered a murder case against Fida Hussain on the complain of the girl's father Nazir Ahmad.

"her alleged illicit relations with a man" - Yes, Gloria, Oprah, Rosie, Barbara, et al, mere suspicion is enough to get you killed in an Islamic Republic. What's that? Can't hear you.

I would just like to point out that if clubs are outlawed, only outlaws (and inlaws) will have clubs.

"not subject to retaliation" is "a father or mother (or their fathers or mothers) for killing their offspring, or offspring's offspring." ('Umdat al-Salik o1.1-2).

So you can kill your children, or your grandchildren, without fear of retribution, but not your great-grandchildren. How many lived long enough, in seventh or eighth century Arabia, to become great-grandparents? Perhaps it's time to take into account modern lifespans and add great-grandchildren to the list of licit victims.

She was probably betrothed to the uncle. That's how they do it in Pakistan. Niece-uncle marriages are the most common kind. Clubbing. He couldn't just strangle her. He was such a psychopath that it had to brawn-out, painful, and bloody. That's unimaginably horrible.

"That's unimaginably horrible.
