A wise ruling: the National Socialist Party (that's the Nazis, kids) had social programs also. "Court Upholds $156 Million Judgment Against Hamas Supporters," from IPT News, December 3:
An appellate court has upheld a $156 million judgment against two organizations found to have provided financial support to Hamas and sent the claim against a third back to district court for a new trial. The Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals issued a ruling Wednesday that eliminated the distinction between supporting the violent and social wings of a terrorist group."If you give money to an organization that you know to be engaged in terrorism, the fact that you earmark it for the organization's nonterrorist activities does not get you off the liability hook," Judge Richard Posner wrote for the majority.
The ruling favors Joyce and Stanley Boim, whose son David was shot and killed by Hamas terrorists in 1996. It upholds the damages against the Quranic Literacy Institute, a Chicago-area non profit that was accused of laundering money for Hamas and the American Muslim Society, which the judges found "did know and in giving money to the (Holy Land) Foundation was deliberately funneling money to Hamas."
The court described the American Muslim Society as "an alter ego" of the Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP). The IAP served as a Hamas propaganda arm in the U.S. Three IAP officials – Nihad Awad, Omar Ahmad and Rafeeq Jaber – founded the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) in 1994....
Read it all.

OMG - A judge with common sense! Right here in America! If we only had more of them.............
Peace in the Middle East is best achieved by cutting off the support for the terrorists.
Great work :)
Encouraging, but I will continue to be skeptical. Especially with what one judge had to say.
In a dissenting opinion, Judge Ilana Diamond Rovner criticized the majority's view that plaintiffs do not have to prove money given by a defendant to a terrorist group or its affiliate makes them liable for any subsequent action by the group. She called the majority opinion "remarkable" for eliminating the need for proof the money "was given with the intent to further Hamas's terrorist agenda."(IPT News)
What she fails to acknowledge is that the groups are one in the same. Therefore is no such thing as a "humanitarian" arm of any terrorist organization. Let's go hypothetical. Even if the money doesn't get sent directly to the murderous arm, by giving money to the "humanitarian" group, the group is able to shift other sources of money to buy weapons rather than have to support its propaganda efforts. There is no separation. You support the "humanitarian efforts", you are directly supporting the murderous efforts, end of story. Rovner is obviously a lefty and cannot see beyond her own nose. This is what causes me to maintain my skepticism in light of such a wonderful ruling.
A promising decision.
Turn off the money spigot and it leaves the jihadis, seething and powerless, abusing only their domestic animals, in a miserable backwater hole in the third world.
Reminds me of how people used to give to the Black Panther Party's program to provide free breakfast to ghetto children.
Kevin, can you believe that? An elected official came out, publicly, in favor of a designated terror network and its financiers. Ridiculous. As if the HLF ever did anything 'humanitarian.' That would make a dent in all the UN and Israeli jizya they're getting. It all goes to killing Jews and financing the Ikhwan and everyone knows it, cooked books or no.
This could be really good news. Think of the ramifications this could have once the whole Ikhwan is designated as a terror network. Every zakat-paying Muslim could get in serious trouble. Yeah, it's wishful thinking, but this is a huge step in the right direction.
