More than two thousand Islamists, mainly students, took to the streets of Pakistan's capital Islamabad on Wednesday (December 3) to protest against Indian accusations over the attacks on Mumbai last week, Indian investigators have said the Mumbai attackers had months of commando training in Pakistan by the Lashkar-e-Taiba group, blamed for a 2001 attack on India's parliament. Pakistan has condemned the Mumbai assault, denies any involvement by state agencies and has offered to work with India in its investigations into the attacks. Pakistan rejects what it calls "unsubstantiated allegations" of complicity.Chanting "We are alive, by the grace of Allah," the protesters marched towards the Parliament House but were stopped by security personnel behind barbed wire barriers. "In the wake of the self-inflicted terrorism in Mumbai, India wants to become another America, and plans to attack Pakistan," Raees Gul, a leader of Jamaat-e-Islami's students wing told the crowd, which prayed for Pakistan and burned flags of India, the US and Israel. India has said most, if not all, the 10 militants who rampaged through its financial capital killing 171 people were from Pakistan, including the one survivor. India has long said Pakistan is unable or unwilling to act against anti-India militant groups there....

He was willing that the terrorist kill over 200 in Mumbai, some of them tortured, and he was willing that nine(?) out of ten(?) terrorists were killed.
Allah was also willing for the more than 12,000 murders as counted on terrorism death meter.

An attack on Pakistan would unite the Pakistan country, non muslims living in Pakistan would unite with the worst of the NW frontier fundie in the protection of their nation. A war could cause Pakistan into Civil war, all those nukes going missing and ending up in London or NYC.
A war with Pakistan would be the end of democracy in the west. A nuke goes off in the west then it's immediate military dictatorship in every western nation to safe guard the respective country.

Certainly a nuclear exchange between India and Pakistan would be disastrous for the world, but perhaps it need not come to that. India has an advanced hi-tech industry, in some areas at the cutting edge of innovation, whereas Pakistan's hi-tech is mainly dependent on theft and imitation, as must be true of any Muslim-ruled nation. We may assume that the Indian authorities have developed plans to deal with the threat of a nuclear exchange with Pakistan and to ensure that it becomes a one-way lesson to Pakistan, maybe by the use of EMP weaponry.

Sadly, Michael Calvert is not alone in his thinking. Most of the editorials I have read recently carry some version of this message. The idea that Jihadists might be emboldened if everyone is too scared to stand up to them is never considered.
That is like sayong, The USA should have never used it on Japan. If not, how much longer would WWII in the Pacific than have lasted, how many more Americans would have been killed and others in Indonesia. All the Dutch and English there in concentration camps.
How can Islam be stopped?

I was simply pointing out the fact that a major war between india and pakistan will not help us one single iota.
India and pakistan need to work together to overthrow hte muslim extremists. i know its hard to imagine but just think what a major war would do to that region. It would unite every fundi hindu and muslim from banglaore to Nepal to the NW frontier. You dont care because you dont live there or are even in the armed forces.

Interestingly enough the way that the Muslims started that war reminds me very much of the procedure that the Pakistani jihadis have followed in the attack on Mumbai.
An act of war - a ghazi or razzia, a jihad raid - was committed by a proxy, thus allowing for plausible deniability on the part of the state or states sponsoring/ hosting the proxy; that way, the state thus attacked, if it responds in force, can be made to look like the aggressor, whilst the Muslims get to howl 'poor little us! o woe!

History makes it clear that any sort of 'agreement' between a Muslim and a non-Muslim entity is, to be quite, quite frank, written on toilet paper in disappearing ink. And the Muslim will always endeavour to make sure that the non-Muslim gets royally screwed, by the terms of the agreement itself, or by the Muslim's strategic breaking of that agreement as opportunity arises.
Were India to try to 'work together' with Pakistan on a wild goose chase after mysteriously-elusive jihadists, all that would happen is that India would be inveigled into wasting precious time, men and money, just as the USA has already done.

The place is a swamp. The whole of Pakistan is saturated with the jihad ideology: less obvious in some parts, more obvious in others, but the entire population, deeply suffused with Islam, Islam, Islam, is the sea in which the jihadists swim, and from which they arise.
The only genuinely good people to have come out of Pakistan are those who - per miraculum - have apostasised from Islam and rejoined Golden-Rule-observing humanity.
