Ahmad Tibi: What's his nationality?
If one believes that the Israeli/Palestinian conflict is a struggle over land, such that once the just-right negotiated settlement is found, peace will dawn, and if one thinks that poverty causes terrorism and that democracy cures it, one will find this story profoundly shocking. For it directly contradicts those core assumptions and others that currently prevail in official Washington and in the mainstream media -- not that it will get anyone who holds those views to question them.
But consider: these Israeli Arab Knesset members are not suffering refugees. They have political access and power. They are not poor, they are not voiceless. Yet they still align with the forces of jihad against those of the state they live in and represent in government. Thus Lieberman is quite right: they're a fifth column. And when one understands the Islamic doctrine of jihad as taught by all its sects and schools, and the supra-national character of the Islamic umma, the casual treason of these MK's becomes crystal clear.
But few, very few, wish to understand those things.
"MKs trade volleys over Gaza op," by Gil Hoffman for the Jerusalem Post, December 29 (thanks to James):
Some 200 kilometers away from the Gaza Strip, the Knesset became a battleground on Monday between Jewish MKs, who unanimously supported the IDF operation there, and Arab MKs, who united against it.The Knesset endorsed the assault after Arab MKs failed to pass a proposal calling for an immediate cease-fire. Balad MKs boycotted the session while other Arab MKs took turns heckling Defense Minister Ehud Barak, Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni and opposition leader Binyamin Netanyahu.
United Arab List MK Taleb A-Sanaa was removed from the plenum when he responded to Barak's claim that 300 terrorists had been killed since the fighting began by shouting, "Tell the Knesset how many of them were women and children."
"The panicking in Sderot was unfortunate, but who said the reaction had to be rivers of blood in Gaza?" Ta'al MK Ahmed Tibi said in his speech from the Knesset podium. "I am against harming any citizen. But I admit that when Arabs - people of my nationality - are harmed, it hurts me more." Tibi accused the Jewish politicians who spoke before him of "counting bodies while they count mandates."
If Tibi is an "Arab" as opposed to being an "Israeli," what is he doing with a seat in Israel's parliamentary assembly? Did anyone stand up and say, "Wait a minute. Your nationality is Israeli"? Apparently not -- everyone takes this cognitive dissonance for granted.
Hadash MK Muhammad Barakei added that he was in his one and only homeland, while the Jewish MKs had other homelands to return to.
This is historical fantasy right out of Pallywood.
Israel Beiteinu leader Avigdor Lieberman called the Arab MKs traitors and a "fifth column for the Hamas."Netanyahu called on all citizens of Israel, Arab and Jewish, to "remain loyal to the state of Israel during this just war against our enemy."
"We stand united in this war," Netanyahu said. "Not every citizen must automatically support every move the government makes, but it is unacceptable for Israeli citizens to support our enemies."
Indeed it is, and why is it happening? That is the question no one dares answer.
Islam trumps all, even "Arabness." How many Israeli-Arab Christians (or Arab Christians anywhere for that matter) have become suicide bombers? Answer: none that I know of. How many Israeli-Arab Christians have manifested contempt for Israel the way many Israeli-Arab Muslims have? Again, none that I'm aware of. The only ones that might do so are those who go along with their majority Arab Muslim brethren so as to be left alone (a kind of dhimmification). Once again, the real problem is Islam, which breeds hate and intolerance unsurpassed by any other ideology ever formulated by man.
"Tell the Knesset how many of them were women and children."
As if they cared!
When did Arabs or Muslims ever care about women and children? They're playing with us!
These guys are breeding 'martyrs', they glorify suicide bombers and dance in the streets when they blow up Israeli women and children.
But with Israeli jihad experts like simple Shimon what are the chances of getting to reality?
The MSA/Us are "fifth columns for Hamas." CAIR is a "fifth column for Hamas." The Ikhwan is a "fifth column for Hamas," or was it the other way around? I keep forgetting whether or not the spawn had surpassed its parentage in terms of importance and pull this. Dozens of nations are "fifth columns for Hamas." Islam is, essentially, a "fifth column for Hamas."
Boot them out. Out of the Knesset. Out of Israel. The only 'nation' to which they give allegiance is the Ummah.
BTW - sheik - I visited your site and saw the story from the Netherlands - Geert Wilders' no-nonsense assessment of the situation in Gaza.
He gets the Orde Wingate prize for strategic thinking.

You said it, sheik!
They never seem to care when their fellow-Moslem terrorists blow up a market full of women or a girls' school.
"The panicking in Sderot was unfortunate, but who said the reaction had to be rivers of blood in Gaza?"
................
"The panicking in Sderot"? As if the city had experienced a natural disaster--a flood, maybe, or a wildfire--or perhaps a particularly nasty industrial accident? There is no antecedent--no *cause* of anything in Tibi's statement.
And, note: there is *no* condemnation of the almost daily shelling by Hamas and other Jihadi Gazans--it is merely "unfortunate"--rather like FEMA's slow and inept reaction to Hurricane Katrina. In fact, the response to FEMA's shortcomings was generally far more outraged than Tibi's reference to the deliberate shelling of his countrymen. There is no moral condemnation of the attacks.

"I am against harming any citizen. But I admit that when Arabs - people of my nationality - are harmed, it hurts me more."

Tibi here certainly is not using the term "nationality" as one would expect a member of the Israeli Knesset to. Rather--he is speaking tribally. If he is not an Israeli, why is he an elected member of that country's government?

Not only that--it also shows that Arabs in Israel consider themselves the true and rightful owners of "Palestine"--including that portion of Palestine that is currently known as "Israel". All the Jews can go back to--where? Germany and Poland, maybe? Where that leaves Jews who have lived in the land of Israel since before the coming of Islam is unclear--as is the fate of the descendants of all those Jews who were expelled from Muslim countries after the founding of Israel.
Why should they care? Anyone who isn't killed off can move to America. And any Jew too stubborn for that can live under dhimmitude in the new "Palestinian state".
Moslems owe allegiance to ISLAM and Mohammed before the state. All Moslems consider other moslems as their ummah and will lie to protect their brothers.
Recently an Indian moslem parliament leader said the Mumbai terror attacts were planned by Hindu organisations and not by Pakistan. He was let go free by the ruling congress party without any regrets, these traitors must be shot and kicked out.

His excellency, Bishop Tutu, and Dhimmi Carter have said that Israel is an "Apartheid" government. You would think that Israeli Arabs are an oppressed minority with no voting rights or political power. That's about as believable as "poverty causes terrorism".
I am astounded by the incredible ignorance of the comments. Israeli Arab Muslims identify themselves as Palestinians just as I identify myself as an American Jew- the Jew part connects me to Jews around the world.
Most Israeli Arabs despise Hamas, however this does not mean they can sit back and watch their innocent women and child cousins attacked so the Ehud Barak can win an election. They are appalled by the cynicsm of this operation- and more by the cheering Israelis who full well understand just how cynical Operation Cast Lead (who the hell names these awful incursions)
Israeli Arabs are much better off than their cousins in Arab countries but much much worse off than Israeli Jews. The comparison is so off- it would be like saying to African Americans- hey you have it better than your cousins in Africa."
