By setting aside prayer rooms for those Muslims -- most of which are Somali -- who are still here and have not migrated back to Somalia for the jihad. "Mall of America Moves to Accommodate Minnesota Muslims," by Mohamed Hassan for Mshale, December 13:
BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – On the day Muslims around the world began to celebrate Eid al-Adha, Fatuma Mohamed was at the Mall of America (MOA), far away from where she would normally say her prayers.Greater or Lesser Jihad? But she and other Muslims needed to take time from the activities of the mall and find a quiet area to pray as Muslims do during the festival that commemorates Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his only son for God.
“I said my prayer right at that corner,” Mohamed said, pointing to the spot.
Another Muslim, Amran Ali, did the same.
“I had to say my prayer at a corner,” Ali said. “I was stared at, but no one bothered me.”
Every year, as Muslims in America are compelled to engage in business, work and shopping during the holidays, many find themselves away from mosques and other places where they can hold prayers without interruption. They are forced to seek privacy in corners and alleyways, places that often subject them to unwanted attention. Some Muslims also worry that their repetitive calls of “Allah akbar!” (God is great!) during prayers could be misconstrued as calls for Jihad.
“Of course, out curiosity people will stare at you but don’t say anything,” said Shuuriye Ali. “I wish they would ask. I would love to educate them about my peaceful religion.”Those ever-rowdy (Muslim) youth. This year Muslim leaders from the Twin Cities area were able to persuade MOA, the largest enclosed mall in the United States, to set aside a room for prayers.
“I learned quite a bit from my last meeting with the community,” said Douglas Reynolds, MOA’s security director.
But Mohamed and other Muslims did not know there was a prayer room, even though MOA and Muslim volunteers had intended to have eight posters in three languages, (English, Somali and Arabic) to be displayed at all entrances to the mall.
“I didn’t notice any signs,” Mohamed said.
Reynolds said many might have missed the signs because MOA and the Muslim leaders did not advise the community about the prayer room before this week’s observance of Eid al-Adha. The signs also went up too late in the day, Reynolds said.
“It would have been nice to get the message out to the community earlier,” Reynolds said. “The signs were also not available until 4:30 p.m.”
He promised that MOA would “do a better job next time.”
Regardless of the glitch, many Muslims appeared excited that the MOA reserved prayer space for them and promised to continue doing so in the future.
“It is about time,” Jamad Barrow said. “I’m happy to hear that the mall is trying to accommodate and appeal to the Muslim community.”
Sheikh Neelain Muhammad, an imam at the St.Paul-based Da’wa Islamic Center, and five other volunteers from the center were among the many volunteers who were at the mall to make sure that day went on without incidents, especially from teenagers.
Reynolds, the MOA security director, said that community volunteers were very helpful.“At one point, Sheikh Neelain Muhammad and his team were spotted talking to the youth and telling them to behave … and so, they did.”
The presence of culturally competent volunteers at the mall avoided the law enforcement solution that often leads to the arrest of Muslim youths.
“No one youth that was acting out that didn’t change after we talked with him or her,” Sheikh Muhammad said.
Mahmood Kanyare, one of the community volunteers, said the volunteers reminded the youth about good manners in Islam.
“They were all responsive to our messages and behaved well as a result,” Kanyare said.
The day ended with a positive note for both MOA and the Muslim community. No one was arrested and only few were asked to leave.
Reynolds, the director of security, said he hoped to continue building MOA’s relationship with the Muslim community.
Malls are religious places now. I wonder if all other religions will have a place at the MOA for a time to worship or is it always going to be Islam. Well as I say Islam is having a field day. Kill infidels, have foot baths, have places of worship at MOA and no accountability for the crimes committed against humanity. NO! Mohammedans are surely having a all the freedom to worship their mass murdering religion while non Muslims in Islamic are slaughter at a wholesale rate.
Oh well: how would the Mall react to a group of Catholics asking for a chapel within which to hold a Novena, or recite the Angelus?
How would the mall react to a procession of Hare Krishnas drumming, marching and chanting?
What if Hindus or Buddhists or Taoists asked to be allowed to set up a suitable shrine or shrines?
What if some rabbis and priests and parsons fronted up and asked that the mall appoint permanent official Jewish and Christian chaplains/ community volunteers whose task it would be to cruise the mall talking to teenagers?
Or for that matter: Christmas approaches.
Perhaps Minnesota area jihadwatchers should get together a scratch choir, practise a selection of traditional carols, and then ask 'Mall of the America' if the carollers might be permitted to go up and down the mall performing Christmas carols.
I might be wrong - perhaps local churches in Bloomington Minnesota do that kind of thing in Mall of America already - does anyone know? Worth checking.
"Some Muslims also worry that their repetitive calls of “Allah akbar!” (God is great!) during prayers could be misconstrued as calls for Jihad."
I work in SDaudi Arabia. When Muslims miss prayertime or are by themselves, they try to find a quiet place and they pray quietly - no calls of “Allah akbar!”
“It would have been nice to get the message out to the community earlier,” Reynolds said. “The signs were also not available until 4:30 p.m.”
He promised that MOA would “do a better job next time.”
“It is about time”
..........................
Hop to it, dhimmies! And next time, be quicker about it, or the "youth" will really have something to "get rowdy" about!
The Mall of America provides Muslims prayer space out of the way of normal people and yet the Muslims prefer to pray inside the mall in any location they deem proper at anytime they deem proper...on purpose to disrupt the shoppers and Non Muslims..
This disrespect and lack of cooperation will only get worse...
And on next week's schedule (just in time for Christmas) MOA has granted Baptists permission to use the fountains by Nordstrom's to immerse converts. An MOA spokesman justified the practice. "We wouldn't want to let a trivial matter like the practice of one's religious faith interrupt shopping, after all."
"The day ended with a positive note for both MOA and the Muslim community. No one was arrested and only few were asked to leave."
You've got to be kidding. It's a "positive" day at the mall when no Muslim youths are arrested and "only a few" are asked to leave? This telling statement, meant to sound comforting and encouraging, says so much about how Muslim teenagers interact with infidel society, and about our accommodation of their criminal behavior.
Apparently we should be grateful they aren't setting fire to cars and shops like in Europe.
Also telling is that it took "the presence of culturally competent volunteers" to even partially rein in these youth, who apparently would be rampaging otherwise, because they don't consider themselves bound by infidel laws or societal codes of behavior.
It's not MOA that should be "building a relationship with the Muslim community" - it's the Muslim community that should be showing its willingness to assimilate and to abide by the same laws as everyone else.
I know, I know - I'm not holding my breath.
If you go to Pentagon City in Arlington, VA you will see many muslims. I bet this mall will be next to have a prayer room for members of the "religion of peace". Who knows what's next... Maybe a food court that only serves halal, shopping hours to accomodate muslims, burka boutiques... I wouldn't be at all surprised if any of these come to pass.
I'm with Dumbles: let's see M/SP Christians head for MOA and push for equal rights and access.
They won't.
Gosh, can we get one at our mall here in CO?
And maybe a prayer rug shop, too?
Since when does Islam consider Ishmael the only son of "Ibrahim"? I thought the muslims just said basically that Isaac was snubbed in Ishmael's favor.
Is this reporter engaging in some pseudo-scolarship, or do the muslims deny Isaac existed?
Here is their contact link. I sent a note letting them know I'll not visit there nor any other mall they may operate.

Am I the only one who's eyes crossed reading this? They are talking about a prayer room then apropos nothing they are talking about rowdy Muslim teenagers who are being thrown out and not arrested so its an improvement. I don't live in Minnesota - maybe this makes sense in Minnesotastan - its all news to me!
Oh, and guess who owns the controlling interest in MOA...

Sounds to me like there was a little blackmail going on---either you give us a prayer room or we unleash our primitive spawn on your shoppers. The mall certainly wants all the shoppers it can get, so muslims score another one. What about the requisite footbaths, or are they using the lavatory sinks? Footbaths will be next to save money on janitorial services and assuage public revulsion at the sight, sound, and unsanitary conditions created by muslims washing their feet in lavatories.
I wonder how much money muslims spend at the MOA, or if they only go there to annoy and offend Christmas shoppers and demand religious accommodations to insult non-muslims. This entire fiasco sounds like a contrived campaign for muslims to get attention at Christmastime just to prove how much clout they have.
"The presence of culturally competent volunteers at the mall avoided the law enforcement solution that often leads to the arrest of Muslim youths."
Funny how it's only the Moslem youth who make the disturbances, and need "culturally competent volunteers" to clam then. Can you imagine reading the same thing about Oriental-American youth?
"I had to say my prayer at a corner,” Ali said. “I was stared at, but no one bothered me."
No, you didn't have to say your prayer at a corner. You could have stayed home until after the time of prayer, or you could have gone to your car to pray. If your times of prayer were so all-important to you, you could have stayed in your homeland somewhere in Islamistan.
"Some Muslims also worry that their repetitive calls of “Allah akbar!” (God is great!) during prayers could be misconstrued as calls for Jihad."
If I were in a shopping mall, and some galoot in a burkha or turban was shouting "Allah akbar", I'd construe it as an imminent suicide-bombing, and be diving for cover behind the stoutest barrier I could find.
What would be MoA's reaction to a group of evangelical Christians holding an impromptu prayer meeting in a "corner", complete with cries of "Amen", "Hallelujah!", and "Praise the Lord!"?
My suggestion about arranging for a team of roving Christmas carollers was inspired by my husband's experience at *our* mega-mall (one of the biggest in Australia) just last week - he encountered a group of singers from one of the local Baptist churches, who were strolling the mall singing Christmas carols and handing out leaflets with the schedule of Christmas services, to anyone who asked.
I can share a nice story from a friend in Wollongong. A steelworks or large factory of some sort was demolished, and a large shopping mall built on part of the site. The priest who had been chaplain at the steelworks moseyed along to the management of the new installation and proposed that he be 'chaplain in residence' to ...the mall, just like he used to be at the steelworks.
And they let him! He wandered around introducing himself to the various tenants and the security personnel, and just generally made himself unobtrusively available; he now gently cruises the mall, everybody knows and likes him and if they feel like they want to talk about something, they know he's there as a listening ear.
Perhaps a rabbi and a priest or minister in the vicinity of MOA might like to try what this Aussie priest did...nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Final suggestion: I know that there are groups that do 'mall walking' for indoor all-weather exercise. Perhaps, again, local Christians might google up 'Prayer Walking' and get together a group to do a regular 'Prayer Walk' in and around this MOA. Wearing crosses, of course, so as to obviously defy the Rules for Dhimmis.
Does this mean closeted gay men can demand a designated bathroom for loitering in the MOA?
I wonder how long before they insist on us re-naming St. Paul...
Another example of Sharia creep. The stealth jihad continues drip by drip. Perhaps the silver lining in this cloud is that it will elicit disgust even more so towards the religion that demands that everyone notices it.
This is so disdusting and l am sick of this PC attitude with companies that bow down to those barbarians. Any one religious enough can pray anywhere and not need to be a spectacle about it.
Only a matter of time before muslims are offended Christmas decorations in MOA.
I think Dumbles has something there. Why don't more clerics get out of their churches and start mixing with the public, handing out leaflets and generally making themselves known and available. Its called marketing your product to put it crudely. With the decline in church worshippers and faced with intense Muslim proselytising what options do they have?

I'm glad you posted this. I'll be doing the same.
It's truly shocking. Only 7 years since the Barbarians incinerated over 3,000 of our fine citizens, they get prayer rooms to worship their Murder "God." It's just incredible - I just can't believe it - the world's become as topsy-turvy as Alice's rabbit hole...Someone wake me from this nightmare which grows more horrific every day...
Solution...Small, portable, personal mosques.
Fold able to 1 square foot. Can be set up in one minute almost anywhere. Erected size 3'x4'x'4'. Put your rug on the floor and start praying. Carried in a back pack for those emergency situations when you need a mosque in a hurry. Inflatable models would cost a little more...
One of the nice things about enclosed malls like MoA has always been that they were private property, and so their security could keep out the various pests that one finds on public streets: derelicts wrapped in newspapers sleeping on grates, winos asking for spare change, three-card monte tricksters, and religious hustlers ranging from Hare Krishnas to guys handing out copies of Watchtower. If the malls are going to start providing for Moslem prayer sessions, I'll take my business elsewhere. I'd rather they let in the winos and derelicts than the preying Moslems.
I've got a solution...a one way ticket to Somalia...you only need one...
This absurd desire in the thoughtless faithful to cheerfully celebrate the willingness of a man to slit his own son’s throat in primitive sacrifice as ordered by a testing god is the iconic heart of darkness of the so-called “Abrahamic religions”.
I suspect there is a psychosis here and I find it amazing that this horrifying nonsense is still celebrated outside the expected insanities of the Muslim world, and even given accommodations in shopping malls.
Thanks for posting that link, Undaunted. I just gave them a piece of my mind.
I think the Simons will get this mall back. They have more money than God. I went to school with them. They live in Indianapolis, although they obviously have real estate all over the place.
Here's what I wrote. Feel free to copy it. The SIman can use statements lik eours to get their mall back by showing tha the Iranians had behave irresonsibly by jacking with American secular culture and by generally making ordinary people feel unsafe.
Dear MOA,
I have just read about your accoodations of Muslims in your mall. I am disgusted to the very core of my being. How dare you pander their sicko-pervert worldview. If they need to "pray" to their genocidal, sexist, racist, supremacist, insecure, pre-Arabian moon-God of death they should have to leave decent, outbred human beings with souls in order to do so. How dare you buy into their insane belief that their non-Muslim-mass-murdering/raping/enslaving/plundering/extorting/torturing death-god requires them to point their behinds in the air, contract billions of strain of mosque foot fungus on their inbred hands and faces, and verbally commit treasonous sedition five times a day.
I will never return to MOA or any outlet of yours, nor will anybody I know, not only for your whoring away of America to an intolerable ideology that obligates its cult members to rape, enslave, mass murder, extort, and torture us, and which requires that all women and girls live their entire lives as sex slaves - first to their brothers and father who have "divine" sanction to rape them from the day they are born (K 2.223), then to whichever 50-year-old cousin they pimp them away to under threat of death for a pack of gum at age 5 - and which sanctions incest, pedophilia, female genital mutilation, the mutilaton of corpses, polygamy, violence against women, childen, and unbelievers, and which requires its cult members to donate 2.5% of their income to terrorism (which makes 100% of them terrorists), but also because nobody will ever be remotely safe there. If I hear "Allah-hu Akbar!," no matter where I may be, I run like the wind because I don't want to die, and that's what reasonale, decent, thinking, moral, ethical, civilized, evolved, outbred, sane people do when they hear that throat-slashing call or any other disgusting goat-strangling/cat-vomiting, cultishly chanted Arabic evil being spewed from the inbred mouths of terrorists.
You signed your death warrant when you built a sleeper cell. Reap what you sow, you modern-day Goebbels.
I just don't understand how an American mall can set aside a space for a religion which commands the conversion or murder of anyone who doesn't share their particular primitive belief. In a region with so many Muslims, why are so few people informed about the reality of Islam?
The main lesson was that you need "Respected Muslim Elders" to control Muslim youths. Only Muslims can control Muslims. Only Muslims can rule Muslims. Only Muslims can rule.
The Iranian brothers involved in ownership of the mall are Iranian Jews not Muslims.
What Islam is Not.

Thanks for clearing that up, BL@KBIRD. Can you post your source?
Maybe they could even introduce Somalis to the concepts of footbasins, which don't exist there.
nice. a prayer room at the mall. guess i'll go in and say the rosery..hope there are others in there to pray at the same time. think i'll face west while i pray. nice..a prayer room at the mall for all who wish to pray. don't try to keep me out at any time!
Here's a thought , why not start a Know-Islam campaign and have non-Muslims visit the Mosques as Hooper and CAIR always rants on about to build Tolerance.
BUT....the infidels go to the Mosques wearing what appears to be a suicide vest but is really a Fishing style multi-pocket unit , so if Muslims are so Tolerant and open they wouldn't dare assume that infidels are violent and prone to slaughtering civilians for Jesus's cause to spread peace.
Since a Thief is usually the first one to accuse others of stealing , Muslims would be fools to jump to the defense and "Allege" that the visitors are potential Christian-terrorists .
Remember....CAIR and Hooper keep assuming there will be "Backlash" against Muslims for each Terrorism attack in the West.
BUT THAT "BACKLASH" HOOPER RANTS ABOUT NEVER COMES.
In fact , we have seen Bogus Vandalism claims by some Muslims who demand the FBI treat it as "Islamophobia" and a hate-crime.
Ask yourself this....Isn't it odd that right before a Housing-Market collapse in an area of Florida we see a Muslims home Fire-Bombed for an Insurance claim but the owner never fixed the home.
Smells like a Insurance Fraud scam via Arson and get the Media involed to label it "Islamophobia".
I, too, wrote a letter to MOA, so thanks to whomever provided the link.
Ironically, though, when you read the NY Times article--the Iranians who are taking over are actually Orthodox Jews, so I would expect them to be completely opposed to advancing Muslim might anywhere.
I sent an email to MOA as well. Not that it will change anything, but it made me feel a bit better.

It's down in the body of the article.
Well, I know a consortium of churches in our area has a booth at the mall for the month of December. They man the booth all the hours the mall is open. They pass out tracts and make politically incorrect comments like "Merry Christmas."
I've never seen anyone in recognizable Muslim garb at that mall, however. (There are some Muslims in the area, but they tend to live closer to the military base. All the mosques are in that area. Comforting thought, huh?)
Thanks BL@KBIRD... I missed it.
This is rather simple...
Boycott Mall of America and any other place that allows Muslims to have prayer rooms outside of a Mosque.
My husband works at that Mall a couple days of week, and I worked there for several years at the same Barnes & Noble there.
The influx of Somali began with the arrival of the "train to nowhere", the lightrail, that allowed residents of downtown and outlying Minneapolis (the reaaallly great parts of town) to get to the Mall for the price of a bus ticket in luxurious warmth, terminating under the MOA.
We couldn't believe this would be the preferred terminus for this line.
Enter every homeless person and gang member who wasn't at his job that day! Hmph. All of sudden we had to have a Bloomington police auxiliary station in the mall itself, because the private security couldn't handle it any more (no reflection on them). You must be sixteen years old to enter the mall on Fridays and Saturdays without an adult after 6pm.
Because of the access to fashionable items, there are also many "Aqsa"(RIP)-types, Muslim girls teetering on the edge of Westernization, who will wear beautiful jeans and clothes until they're plucked away (we will never know) and sent to the ME for marriage and servitude. Many of the cleaning staff are niqab-wearing women.
(for alert) The Mall of America did NOT put up its Christmas tree this year. They put in an eco-friendly "green-living house" instead to show folks how they can live more "green". This and Islam are the newly-recognized religions, apparently.
Two comments from the propagandist writing this article. "compelled to engage in...shopping"? Bwaaa haaa haa (but can't really excuse those semi-observant MINO's, can you?) Also, notice the interview was conducted with the Mall's security director, not its Marketing director, PR department talking head, nor its Customer Relations people. (They have all of these). The fact that the signs "didn't arrive until 4:30" was probably the fault of the "community", rather than the mall. Exactly how would the "community" have been notified? Fireworks?
Next time I am there I will be visiting this prayer room, unless it was just set aside for the Eids. I will visit then, also.
I sent the following comments to MOA management as well as triplefive, the owners mentioned in the article linked.
I read with some dismay an interview with your security director discussing the setting aside of a "prayer room" for Muslim adherents on the Eid on the 8th of December. A Christmas tree can no longer be put up; in its place, a shrine to environmentalist concerns is displayed. Retailers are walking on eggshells as to whether to allow their staffs to say "Merry Christmas" but the MOA finds no problem with adding a prayer room for Islam? I am just baffled by the inconsistencies. No one would bother anyone of any stripe praying in the Mall. We've seen it all, and if it's not illegal or disruptive, it's ok. Who would complain? "We'll do a better job next time." (regarding posting of signs). Have any of your management ever heard the term "dhimmitude"? It's not street lingo. It's the insidious creeping suppression of infidels for the benefit of Muslim concerns.
Please do not allow this group to pressure you for religious accommodation when it is completely unnecessary. They can pray wherever they want. If they want to pray together, they can rent a room, as many other faiths do to band together on high holy days. Why would you give it to them for free?
I understand the community relations aspects of using empty space that's being heated anyway for overnight groups, etc. But a specific religious group being given a space for a specifically religious observence, for the benefit of keeping roving gangs of Muslim gangs who do not respect infidel law from causing trouble, is dhimmitude, not public relations. It is telling that this effort is coordinated through security, and not through PR.
You cannot appease this group. Other requests will follow. You have already (I am sure) been asked about footbaths, cleaning staff uncomfortable working in alcohol-serving areas, etc. You should be aware this is a coordinated effort.
Please put in an interfaith observance space for all, as proposed by local Muslim organizers, or do nothing. Please, by all means, celebrate the Eids in the common spaces with murals or music or whatever the ummah feels helpful to educate mallgoers about this holiday and its meaning. Please, put up menorahs and Christmas trees, and let everyone see how holidays are a part of our mutual Western culture. But giving prayer space in a private room for one faith is not in our nor your best interests. Given your owners' faith leanings, I find it hard to believe that they would agree with giving space to adherents whose holy book proclaims that a woman's word is worth half of a man's, and compares these very owners to "apes and pigs".
Integration, not separation is our American melting pot. Please help them and help us all in the meantime, learn that lesson.
Kind regards,
Melisa Hubbard

Here is the response MOA PR sent back:
This is in response to your concerns regarding the private, secluded area we allowed people to use for prayer, meditation and reflection on Dec. 5, 2008. Our business purpose was simply to provide better customer service by making available an area for guests to use that would not be disruptive to other guests or interfere with mall operations in any way. The space was not being used during this time period (4-10PM) and is located in a remote area of the park. We apologize if you were offended.
