The Byzantine icon above is the work of the 16th-century iconographer Theophanes the Cretan. There are many things that are un-Islamic about it:
1. It is an image of human beings, which violates the traditional Islamic prohibition of images;
2. It depicts Jesus not as a Muslim prophet but as the incarnate Son of God (his halo reads ο ων, the One Who Is, a title of divinity derived from the name of God that God gives to Moses in Exodus 3:14), in violation of the oft-repeated Qur'anic injunction that Allah has no Son (4:171; 9:30; 25:2; 39:4; 72:3; etc. etc.);
3. In line with #2, it depicts what Muslims would consider to be idolatry, as the holy child's mother kneels and adores him;
4. In the beam or spear coming from heaven down to the child in the cradle, it depicts the activity of the Divine in the world, assuming the doctrine of the Trinity, which is rejected somewhat imprecisely in Qur'an 4:171 and 5:116;
5. The cradle resembles a casket, foreshadowing the redemptive death of Christ, which is denied in Qur'an 4:157.
Now, whether you are a Christian or not, whether or not you believe all or any of these things, the question that is before us this Christmas is whether or not people should be allowed to believe these things if they think they are true. Nowhere in the Islamic world today do people who believe these things enjoy full equality of rights with Muslims. In Pakistan, Egypt and elsewhere Christians are frequently victimized because, as I have tried to show above, some of their core beliefs are considered blasphemous in authoritative Islam.
And that assumption of blasphemy, since Islam is a political program as well as a set of religious beliefs, does not allow for live-and-let live tolerance of those with whom one disagrees. The blasphemers and those who insult Islam must be subjugated under the rule of the Muslims. We see this agenda being articulated every day; we see Christians and others victimized by it every day; and we see the world largely yawning and indifferent as all this goes on.
This Christmas, remember that the Islamic supremacist program has you on its list. You may not be a Christian. You may not be a Jew. You may not be a Hindu. But the jihad is universal. You are on the list. So this Christmas, may all of us whose conversion, subjugation, or death is envisioned by the adherents of Sharia stand together. Let us stand together as Jews, Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, atheists, secularists, what have you, and stand up against those who would kill us or subject us to institutionalized discrimination because they find our beliefs offensive.
For be assured: if we do not stand together, they will prevail. And if they do, and all the rich expressions of the human spirit, from Theophanes the Cretan to the fashioners of the Buddhas of Bamiyan, from Aristotle to Oriana, will be trampled into the mud, destroyed, exploded, ruined, effaced. We will all be the poorer. Our children will be the poorer.

It's been awhile since i have commented here as i have been busy.I owe much to JW for aiding in opening my eyes to all that i see clearly today,for be assured there are still plenty to gather those needed to stand together and much more firmer against the crime against humanity.

I used to think that the only cause which could really unite humanity against it would be a typical sci-fi movie style alien invasion, and naturally I thought it would never happen. But this supremacism is so violently and perennially opposed to every other group on the planet that we should be united under our will to resist it.
Many times I have heard that religion has nothing to do with how these people act. It takes me all of five minutes to show them a whole slew of materials demonstrating otherwise. Political correctness is the reason why we are not united, and I worry that unless people start waking up to what these people are willing to do to achieve their aims, we'll be discounting their motivations in their own words when our appeasement will no longer protect us.
We need a global coalition of individuals from every corner of the globe to stand against this. A foundation, a movement, whatever works, to shout loud and clear that 'you have victimized everyone else, including yourselves, and we will tolerate no more.'

I’ve never been big on poetry but Longfellow’s Christmas poem, copied below, has always been close to my heart. For me it encompasses the essence of Christ, that we mere mortals are not alone in our veil of tears. That there is a power that wishes peace on earth, good will to men. Not just to some men but to all men.
And then there is Islam. Even before I found Jihad Watch, and came to an understanding of the theological underpinnings of Islam, I was repulsed by the hatred of the others that seemed so pervasive in Islam. I asked myself how the god of their prophet Mohammad could bring the blessings of peace to all men when he promised paradise to the faithful who killed unbelievers?
For Mohammad mocks the song of peace on earth, good will to men.
From Mohammad there will be no peace on earth or heaven for unbelievers.
For Mohammad hate is strong. As hate is strong in all men, fueled by envy, lust and greed. In these darkening days it requires a powerful faith to sing the song of peace on earth, good will to men.

The real God does not discriminate...
As we congratulate the JW staff for their excellent and very important work, and as we wish each other Merry Christmases and Happy New Years, I wonder can we afford even one day off?
Is this problem going to solve itself in the final reel? Are we really going to have it wrapped up just in time for the commercial break?
The problem is deep and difficult. Our natural allies are AWOL, or even consorting with the enemy, giving them aid and comfort. The noose is slowly but relentlessly tightening.
A sense of unreality pervades. Can we really be locked in an existential struggle, a life-or-death situation, with followers of a 6th Century madman, here at the slow dawn of the 21st? These people were just a pesky annoyance 10-15 years ago, and a quaint, hopeless, bemusing set of misguided children, worthy only of our condescension, 30-40 years ago, completely irrelevant. Shocking.
Yes, we need time to relax, have fun, enjoy the fruits of our convergence of ideologies, which have produced the most fabulous standard of living in all of history, but we also need to delve deeper, to rack our brains, to tirelessly innovate, to desperately SOMEHOW get our point across, to figure out, JUST HOW can we survive the onslaught? This is not trivia, folks, it is DEAD SERIOUS.
Bit of a downer for a Christmas message, I realize, but we are far from out of the woods -- I wish it weren't so. We have to double down or else, in 2009, and every year after that, til when? Til we win. Failure is most decidedly not an option.

My family and I were discussing this topic last night. I don't object to Islam teaching what I consider to be lies about Jesus: I support their freedom of religion.
I do object to anyone who wants to force me to follow Islam and deny my own religion.
My heart goes out to persecuted Christians in Muslim countries. May we do everything in our power not to suffer the same fate and to stand up for our persecuted brothers and sisters as well.

My husband's brother has a *wonderful* Filipina wife (whom he married in an all-stops-out Filipino Catholic wedding, in the Philippines) and I've met many fantastic Filipino people here in Australia. Lots of Aussies and Filipinos are marrying each other...forging an informal alliance at the grassroots level. I just wish the Aussie government would quit our dead-end 'aid' and 'training' relationships with Muslim Malaysia and Muslim Indonesia and redirect its assistance to a much more deserving target, namely the Philippines.
Your country - like India, like Thailand, like Israel - is right on the front line facing the Third Jihad; only just now I was reading about more despicable MILF attacks on innocent non-Muslim Filipino villagers in the south.
In the year to come, by the grace of YHWH the liberator, may Filipino forces be granted decisive victory against the Jihad.

There is such an organization: ACT! for America.
Brigitte Gabriel, author of "Because They Hate" and "They Must Be Stopped", founded it a little over a year ago, and it already has over 50,000 members and 230 chapters nationwide. It is also spreading to other countries with international chapters being formed.
She outlines our strategies and tactics in chapter 12 of her recently published book mentioned above, "They Must Be Stopped". The war we are fighting is against the "stealth jihad" that Mr. Spencer wrote about in his eponymous book.
