MANILA, Philippines - Accusing her of an inconsistent peace policy, the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) rebuffed President Gloria Arroyo's New Year greeting to the Islamic community.MILF deputy spokesman Khaled Musa said it is hard for Muslims to help the government achieve lasting peace if it cannot honor an agreement like the one on ancestral domain.
"How could there be peace when you don't honor agreement?" he said in an article posted on the MILF website.
Musa said wishing is the forte of "children and weak minds" but added that honoring an agreement is the exclusive domain of honorable men and women....
Not that the MILF has honored its agreements.
Last August, the MILF's "rogue" commanders led attacks in Mindanao after the Supreme Court blocked the signing of a memorandum of agreement on ancestral domain.The fighting prompted the stalling of peace talks as government shifted its policy from dealing with armed groups to conducting "peace consultations" in the countryside....
Earlier, Musa said Arroyo's Islamic New Year message asked Muslims to support government's resolve "in turning the fragile peace in Muslim Mindanao into a genuine ad [sic] lasting one."
"More than ever, our countrymen of whatever faith and culture should unite in our continuing search for peace and stability in Mindanao," the message said....
"Peace and stability in Mindanao" -- i.e., Sharia.
I love how Muslims lie. "Honor agreements"? If the other side hasn't signed it, it's not an agreement, it's a demand, and it's not "dishonorable" to refuse to obey it.
President Arroyo must be taking her lead from George Bush's "religion of peace" theme.

New Year's cards are not as meaningful to Islamists as bullets; send him bullets from the muzzle of a gun and he will understand you much better.
I recall that, just like telling you to beat your wife if you 'fear' that she *might* be rebellious, the Quran also instructs Muslims to break treaties if they merely suspect that the other party is going to break them...always the pre-emptive strike, on the basis of suspicion..suspicion that need not be based, indeed is not based at all, on anything real.
The lie told by the abuser to himself, the excuse trumped up in order to justify what he does to those whom he abuses: 'they *deserve* it'. 'She was going to disobey me!' 'They were going to break the agreement'.
And I am surprised that the sky did not turn black, and the earth split open in horror, at the magnitude of the hypocrisy and evil scapegoating/ projection involved in the MILF leader's indignant condemnation of the Catholic Filipino government for 'not honoring agreements'.

Yeah - and of course, we know that in the Islamic scriptures and jurisprudence and theology kafir are ipso facto NOT deserving of honour, they are in fact dishonourable, subhuman, pigs, dogs, and to be treated with contempt, so Muslims don't have to keep agreements made with kafir...
that, one presumes, is why this creature can say what he says with a straight face, given the number of agreements that, as Robert has pointed out, the MILF has made with the Catholic Filipinos and then promptly trashed, as per the eternal example of Mohammed in the Treaty of Hudaybiyya.

Zena you are right on. No Muslim will effectively adhere to an agreement, unless they need time to regroup. Then it is a waiting game for them. They will chose the time and place of breaking or ending the agreement(such as was the case in Israel and the Gaza mobsters).
