"Moderate" Turkey oppresses Christian churches

Nothing new here. "Turkey: Regulations hobble Protestant churches, from Compass Direct News, December 15:

ISTANBUL, December 15 (Compass Direct News) – In the city of Samsun on the north coast of Turkey, the beleaguered congregation of the Agape Church Association struggles against local Islamic hostility toward its presence. In the last three years Agape church members have endured false allegations and verbal abuse from Muslim and nationalist locals. Their pastor has received death threats, and their building has been vandalized, all in an attempt to stop the 30 or so Christians from meeting.
Nothing new for the Islamic world.
Local authorities have also had their part in opposition to the church, threatening it with legal action based on spurious charges. The church was threatened with a lawsuit because members had hung verses of Scripture and a cross on the walls. The Provincial Directorate of Associations inspected the building and told them to remove the offending articles because their rented rooms looked too much like a church.

It was this sort of harassment that led the Alliance of Protestant Churches of Turkey (TEK) to write a report on the unfounded obstacles and challenges facing Christian congregations wishing to construct or reclassify church buildings. “The process of becoming a place of worship, although legally possible, is in practice almost impossible,” said a member of the TEK’s legal committee.”

Would that these brave followers of Christ and His apostles would remember that their forebears often got into the faces of those intolerant rulers and defied them. Reading the book of the Acts of the Apostles is surely the template of how a believer should respond in the face of death and persecution. Surely we, in the West can remember that as well and get into the virtual faces of their persecutors.

and that country is going to join the E.U soon ...
depressing

The pro-Sharia crusaders in canada kept claiming that it was unfair to judge Sharia just because no Country has made it work according to
the intentions of the Quran.

Great...so for the last 1400 years Islam has produced a car that hasn't worked in any nation on earth it was exported to from Mecca and Medina , but non-Muslims are asked to trust that the car will finally run as expected by the engineers once it's imported to the USA .

Who the heck would want a car that hasn't worked right for 1400 years and yet the dealer claims things will be different in the USA since the car was never properly used .
The problem is that Muhammad had disdain for all non-believers who didn't fall for his tripe about how Allah chose him to rescue all of us from ourselves.

It's true that "real Sharia" isn't practiced anywhere. "Real Sharia" has institutionalized dhimmitude and slavery.

Remember, Turkey will still not admit that the Armenian jihad occurred............. denial is not just a river in Egypt.
