Pakistan: Christians find Bible burned, note warning they'll "burn in the fire of hell" and must convert to Islam if they want to "live in peace"

No effigy burnings, no raging "Christianist" mobs. Compare the reactions we have seen when someone even alleges that a non-believer damaged or showed disrespect toward the Qur'an.

"Islamic threats in church: bible burned, appeal to conversion," by Qaiser Felix for Asia News, December 19:

Faisalabad (AsiaNews) - Desecration at the church of St. Paul in the village ‘Chak 77-RB’, ‘Lohekay’, about 30 kilometers from Faisalabad: on December 17, suspects burned a bible and other sacred texts, leaving a letter threatening Christians that they will "burn in the fire of hell" if they do not convert to Islam.
Pervez Masih tells AsiaNews that on that day, he and others were whitewashing and decorating the little church for Christmas. They stopped at noon for lunch, leaving the church open. When they returned, they found the bible and other sacred texts reduced to ashes, and a handwritten letter telling them to convert to Islam if they wanted to "live in peace" and avoid hell. In Pakistan, there is significant controversy over the law on blasphemy, condemning even to death those who offend the sacred book of Islam, the Qur'an. But nothing is done against blasphemous acts toward the books of other religions.
Fr. Yagoob Yousaf arrived in the village that same evening, having been told about the sacrilege. He celebrated Mass in the church, and in the homily, he condemned the sacrilege and the threats, and told the faithful to remain calm and peaceful and not to be afraid, because the police have promised the highest vigilance. He said that Christ preached love and peace, and the government would see to guaranteeing security for the Christians for the Holy Nativity. In recent years, at Christmas, there have been attacks against Catholic and Protestant churches. Often the Christmas celebrations have taken place under police protection.
He observes that "this is a high holy season for all Christians and they are preparing themselves for Christmas but such type of incidents are creating fear and is a move to disturb Christians in the season of Advent."
Most of the people in the village are Muslim, and there are between 50 and 70 Christian families. The church is used by Catholics and Protestants, without conflict. When they became aware of the sacrilege, many Muslims went to the church together with the Christians. Now the police are investigating the "suspects" for the crime of blasphemy.

Pakistan: Christians find Bible burned, note warning they'll "burn in the fire of hell" and must convert to Islam if they want to "live in peace"

Hmm,

Third Rock from Sol, Milky Way Galaxy: Homo sapiens tire of Islamo-fascist violence, reiterate that they want to live in peace, but begin repeating the warning given by Harry Truman during the last major fascist uprising that: 'If they do not accept our terms, they may expect a rain of ruin from the air the likes of which has never been seen on this earth' and must establish a stable, tolerant civilization with religious freedom, if they want to live.

A burned Bible with a note warning of "burning in the fire of hell."

While I don't see the connection between a burned Bible and the "fire of hell" (a place whose existence I don't believe in anyway), I could show muslims exactly what islam turns their lives into by placing an occasional byproduct of a walk with my dog on a copy of Mein Qurampf.

Or would they try to argue that their lives aren't just pure ....?

Where's Rage Boy! Oh, yeah, he only rages if you draw a cartoon of Mohammed.

tanstaafl

He only rages when he is paid for it. There's no such thing as a free rage.

You don't need to believe in Allah, all you need is submission to the rule of his followers.

Islam thus is not a faith.

Dear Proud Kafir:
There may be a thing or two you need to know.
The judeo-Christian heritage teaches that hell and judgment are the province of gods and the supernatural. That one tries to live according to the rules of whichever gods and after death you find out if you get the door with the harps or the door with the lake of boiling blood.
Muslims do not see it that way. They believe they are the instrument of the will of their god. When they threaten hell fire, they mean to do it to them, themselves. This is one of the fundamental misunderstandings by westerners about Islam. It is not a similar faith in any meaningful way to Christianity or Judaism or any other western faith. Its essentially a mafia system for conquest with religious justification. Really. So it doesn't matter whether you believe in hell or not. They plan to create it for non Muslims and it will be tangible and done upon the living. The fact that this takes place in Pakistan shows how far the state has slipped away from government control as well. Serious on many levels.
