Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, mastermind behind the 9/11 attacks, has suddenly pled guilty along with four co-defendants. In court Monday, Army Colonel Stephen Henley, military judge at Guantanamo, read a letter from the five jihadists saying that “the accused in this case had decided that they wished to withdraw all [defense] motions... and wished to enter pleas in what was termed as confessions in this case.”In a blow to those who still think George W. Bush and Dick Cheney planned the 9/11 attacks, Mohammed stated in 2007: “I was responsible for the 9/11 operation, from A to Z. I was the operational director for Sheikh Usama bin Laden for the organizing, planning, follow-up and execution of the 9/11 operation.” Monday’s letter said that Mohammed and his co-defendants had come to their decision to plead guilty “without being under any kind of pressure, threat, intimidations or promise from any party.”
The finality of that statement, however, didn’t mollify the executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union, Anthony Romero. “It is absurd,” he said Monday, “to accept a guilty plea from people who were tortured and waterboarded.” (Mohammed was the most famous recipient of the waterboarding technique.) He called into question the legitimacy of the whole proceeding, saying: “The question for us is whether we want to lend a patina of legitimacy to this legal farce.” If Henley accepts the guilty pleas, however, there might not be much room left for the ACLU to maneuver: Romero told the Washington Post that acceptance of the pleas would make it extremely difficult for the Obama administration to move the case to federal court.“I understand we are in a big drama,” Mohammed said Monday, but with the guilty pleas it could be drawing to a close. This “big drama” has encompassed so many of the highlights of the political landscape of the new century -- not only 9/11 itself, but also the controversies over Guantanamo, waterboarding, and even the American presence in Iraq: on Monday also Muhammad dismissed his military lawyer, who had served for six months in Iraq. Mohammed explained that he could not accept the services of someone who had been involved in “killing our brothers and sisters in Iraq.”
Meanwhile, one less noted but no less important aspect of the case was the ideological foundation of the 9/11 attacks. The defendants made that abundantly clear in their Monday statement: “Our success,” they declared, “is the greatest praise of the Lord.”
The idea that God would praise the mass murderers of 9/11 was disputed this week by Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan, himself a Muslim, who declared in the wake of the Mumbai jihad terror attacks that “there’s nothing Islamic about terrorism. I am a Muslim, I read the Koran, but nowhere in the holy text does it say you can get ‘jannat’ (paradise) from ‘jihad.’”
Perhaps not; but while it doesn’t use the word “jihad” in this precise context, the Koran does guarantee Paradise to those who “kill and are killed” for Allah (9:111). Those whom Khalid Sheikh Mohammed sent to destroy the Twin Towers and the Pentagon on 9/11 hoped to lay claim to that promise, just as Mohammed and his fellow defendants also hope now to gain the status of Islamic martyrs by being executed by the forces of the Great Satan.
The disagreement between Khan’s assertion and Mohammed’s actions is absolute. Yet while the politically correct media (both liberal and conservative) accepts unquestioningly the dogma that Islam is a religion of peace and Khan is correct that “there’s nothing Islamic about terrorism,” those who share the ideology of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and his fellow 9/11 plotters continue to gain recruits around the Islamic world for their jihad.The continued insistence of Mohammed and his fellow defendants on the Islamic correctness of their actions ought to be a wake-up call to Western authorities that they need to formulate a way to deal with the Islamic political and theological concepts that provide the foundation for modern-day Islamic terrorism, or there will certainly be more terror attacks.
And even as Mohammed moves closer to the martyrdom he craves, no one in Washington seems to be making that a high priority.

The defendents are doing everything to ensure that the ultimate penalty is meted-out to them; they should be condemned to death, yes; but our new President should commute those sentences to life without parole, under maximum security. Or better still, the President should order their corpses cremated and interred in an unknown place; otherwise, the bodies of these criminal lunatics will be sent abroad for heroes' burial in Muslim hallowed groud by their surviving relatives, to become shrine and rallying-point for World Jihad.

London, Dec.10 (ANI): British Muslim hate preacher Anjem Choudary has branded Christmas "evil".
The 41-year-old Muslim fanatic shocked Christians and even those of his own faith by slamming the festival as "the pathway to hellfire".
Having recently praised the Mumbai terror massacre, he urged all Muslims to reject the traditional yuletide fun.
In an Internet sermon on an Islamic website, the Daily Star quoted Choudary as saying: "In the world today many Muslims, especially those residing in western countries, are exposed to the evil celebration Christmas. Many take part in the festival celebrations by having Christmas turkey dinners. Decorating the house, purchasing Christmas trees or having Christmas turkey meals are completely prohibited by Allah."
"Many still practise this corrupt celebration as a remembrance of the birth of Jesus. How can a Muslim possibly approve or participate in such a practice that bases itself on the notion Allah has an offspring? The very concept of Christmas contradicts and conflicts with the foundation of Islam," he added.
"Every Muslim has a responsibility to protect his family from the misguidance of Christmas, because its observance will lead to hellfire. Protect your Paradise from being taken away - protect yourself and your family from Christmas," he said
The Choudary rant came as a majority of Daily Star readers said Muslims are not doing enough to tackle hate preachers. (ANI)

I would also add that even if all Muslims are as peaceful as Khan is, there is no guarantee that their descendents won't re-discover the true orthodox violent path of Islam. This happened when the Mongols overran Baghdad, the capital of Abbasid Caliphate. The Muslims became peaceful. However, the following generations re-discovered the truth about Islam and went on an orgy of violence, culminating in Timur Lang’s campaign of massacres and the pyramids of heads of the slaughtered. This was not the only time the peaceful Muslims suddenly re-discovered their violent true path.
For this reason, everyone has an obligation to tell their governments to educate the public about the dangers of Islam, in the same way as they have done on Nazism and Communism. However, at times, the sections of media bought KGB stories from Pravda as gospel truth. Aiming for total ban of Islam or their books would not work, but, public education about Islam would restrict Islam to a minority fringe.

Someone named "David" is stalking and defaming you in each of your articles. It makes the comments unreadable and detracts from your articles. I reported a typical comment by this Internet troll to HE. If they don't ban him I'd suggest you take it up with them. His standard post is cut-'n'-paste defamation, and it escalates from there as he personally attacks every other poster.

Shortly before their executions they should be wrapped in fresh pig carcasses. I would love to see the faces of these spiritually infantile murderers as they become aware of such a fate. The British used this tactic to great effect in colonial India/Pakistan. The USA also used it during the phillipine uprising. A cheap,easy and effective deterrent,but because we're so enlightened, we'll just keep paying with the blood of our sons.
Perhaps Choudry is afraid that moslems will hear that God's message on the birth of Christ was "Peace on Earth, good will to all men!" since any semi-intelligent person can see that the God who said that is not the god of the koran.

Sydney, Dec.10 (ANI): A group founded by a Muslim extremist plans to build a huge complex in Sydney to teach young people Islam.
In what it says is a world first, the Global Islamic Youth Center is trying to raise over six million dollars to build a giant "prayer, learning and sporting" facility in the Sydney suburb of Liverpool.
It has already raised 700,000 dollars towards a million dollar land purchase.
The organization, according to the Daily Telegraph, expects local Muslims to almost double to 20,000 in the next decade and notes that a third of the population is under 19. It also says it wants to attract youth from across Sydney.
Sheik Feiz Mohammad and others founded the GYIC in 2000 to "cater for the physical, social, educational and religious needs, especially for the youth and the children, in accordance with the teachings of the Quran".
Sheik Feiz remains the most prominent spiritual leader of the center, which features a direct email link to him on its home page so students can "seek Islamic knowledge" from him.
The Sheik was exposed two years ago for having called on children to sacrifice themselves to Allah, describing Jews as "pigs" and calling non-believers "filth".
A spokesman for the centre confirmed that the Sheik remained "a figurehead" and that his books and DVDs, which include repeated calls for "jihad martyrdom", would be available at the new facility, which is still at the concept stage.
The Liverpool Council said it was not aware of any development application for the centre, even though its blueprints have been released in a prospectus, accompanied by a virtual tour of the building. (ANI)

London, Dec 10 (ANI): British Muslim kids are being beaten and abused regularly by teachers at some madrassas during Islamic evening classes despite ban on corporal punishments in schools.
Almost 1,600 madrassas operate in Britain, teaching Arabic and the Koran on weekday evenings to about 200,000 children aged from four to their mid-teens, The Times reported.
Students have been slapped, punched and had their ears twisted, according to an unpublished report by an imam based on interviews with victims in the north of England.
One was "picked up by one leg and spun around" while another said a madrassa teacher was "kicking in my head - like a football", says the report which was compiled by Irfan Chishti, a former government adviser on Islamic affairs.
While there is no hard evidence to indicate how many are involved in the physical abuse of children, The Times reported a disturbing pattern in one town - Rochdale - through interviews with mainstream school teachers, Muslim parents and the children themselves.
One woman said that her niece Hiba (7) was slapped across the face so hard by her madrassa teacher that her ear was cut. It later became inflamed and she had to have emergency medical treatment.
When the teacher refused to apologise, Hiba's aunt, Jamila, insisted that her niece should be moved to another madrassa. "I have absolutely no respect for religious teachers who behave like this," she said.
Another girl described how, at the age of 12, her madrassa teacher hit her whenever she mispronounced a word or forgot a verse of the Koran.
When Imam Chishti, a religious education teacher who also runs the Light of Islam Academy in Rochdale, decided to carry out his own investigation into the problem he was shocked by how even the victims had grown to accept the abuse.
Corporal punishment was banned in state schools in 1986 and in all schools in 1998. Under current law teachers acting in loco parentis may use only "reasonable punishment" such as a smack, providing it does not cause any marks or bruising.
But the abuse discovered goes far beyond what could be termed "reasonable force." (ANI)

Find the hard evidence on what has been found on the curricula in Muslim schools in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UK, the USA...and Australia. There's a bunch of hair-raising stories. Tawfiq Hamid's account of what he learned in Islamic classes at the school he attended in Egypt, and the effect of what he learned from the Hadith about not befriending non-Muslims, is pretty scarey, too.
Pick about four of the most telling stories.
Add a few choice quotes from the Qur'an; perhaps a printout of 'Islam 101' from this site.
And pass the lot on to the Liverpool Council..and to the Daily Telegraph.
Also - have you read Ayaan Hirsi Ali's 'Infidel'? She was nearly killed by her Islamic teacher in the Quranic school that her mother sent her to, in Nairobi. He whacked her head against the wall and cracked her skull. If her clan hadn't rallied round and taken her to Nairobi Hospital, she'd have died.
Surely this is welcome. The defendants appear to have decided to plead guilty, for they are now eager to appear as unafraid-of-death muhajideen and go out in a blaze of glory, Paradise-wards. One hopes that in court they will quote copiously from Qur'an and sunnah, offering to the world the considerable textual authority for their actions. They should be heeded: as Muslims they participated directly in Jihad through violent means, and they now intend to accept death as the entry to Paradise. Their account of why they did what they did won't surprise Muslims, nor many visitors to this site, but the unintended audience – of non-Muslims who still find it difficult to grasp, or accept, what Islam inculcates – is the most important one. This kind of behavior, prompted by the vainglory of the accused, can help smash down the Gates of Silence, the Abwab el-Wujum, and get the message, not the one for fellow Muslims but the one that needs to be picked up by the receivers possessed by non-Muslims, across.
