Dozens of youths have rioted in the southern Swedish city of Malmo for a second consecutive night, setting cars on fire and clashing with police.
"We've had a very difficult evening," a police spokeswoman told the AFP news agency late on Thursday.
"There have been fires burning since this afternoon... extensive damage to public property, and... stone-throwing and bomb threats against police."
She said the trouble was linked to the closure of an Islamic centre.
The owner of the building, in an immigrant neighbourhood, had decided not to renew the centre's lease. The centre, which included a mosque, had to move out.
But some youths squatted in the premises, until they were evicted by police earlier this week.
Once police left the premises, the youths returned, setting fires in the area. They then clashed with police.
"The origin of the riots is the occupation of the building. But that's not really the reason now, now other troublemakers have just joined in, taking advantage of the situation," police spokeswoman Ewa-Gun Westford told AFP.

So now you have to rent to them in perpetuity, too? Did this Swedish landlord's property become "Dar-al-Islam" as soon as they signed the lease?
Once a mosque is consecrated it becomes incumbent on all Muslims worldwide, the entire ummah, to lay down their lives making sure that mosque stays Islamic land. But don't let that affect your reasoning on permits for mosques or anything. They can't really mean all that stuff they say in the Quran, ahadith, and in the mosques, can they?
It's pretty convoluted, like so many things in Islam. But you start with the waqf and move through sharia law and eventually get to the point every mosque is Muslim land and therefore worth defending with jihad. Any non-Muslim doing something to close a mosque, however innocent and in line with the law of the place in question (like Sweden) is viewed as "oppressing" Muslims and thould therefore be killed or crucified and whatnot. I could start linking the Quran and ahadith, but it should be obvious by now that mosques are as much courthouses, townhalls, HQs, and bunkers, as they are like churches.
"Youth riots"? Gee, to read the European media, you'd think the whole continent has a "youth" problem. I tell you, "youth" these days, no respect for their elders. . .
Must be those video games and all that rock and/or roll - 'cause the media certainly aren't giving us anything else that might hint at the motivation or identity of these "youth."

Ah, youth! Where does it read that they have to be friendly to non-muslims, even if they own the buildings? I might conede that to blow up the building is better than to renew the lease since it is to blame for the riots. Not the "poor" oppressed Muslims. YEAH, RIGHT!!(a little sarcasm there, if you cannot recognize it people). Meaning no disrespect to anyone of the fine readers of Jihad Watch or staff just to the occasional Muslim or sympathizer who reads it.

Islamineurope is run by Esther, who is a very dhimmified Jew. She's brilliant, though. You can get a ton of news at her site. I swear she must speak 15 different languages, but she censors everyone but joe-six-pack, so being realistic about jihad or Islam is intolerable to her, but unbridled sexism and dawa rants are a-ok. She subscribes to all kinds of crazy ideas. She's very realistic and informed about Israel but she believes that the Andalusian Muslims were kinder than Christians were and are, which is halfway understandable given the way Jew are treated in Europe. She also believes in a lot of the "Islam has given so much to our society" crap, but thinks that everything Christian was stolen from Judaism, which is just not true. She's a mass of contradictions. She translates entire articles and comes across stuff you would never find on any English site.

Bingo it's because the police chiefs are people that themselves are not police other than in name (mainly they are lawyers), these have never been police so they don't understand the work, so they order defensive police action instead of swooping all of them people up and put them in jail, but these police chiefs are afraid to make things worse (as if it wasn't bad enough already).
And many of the leftist thugs are children to the top of society, their way of "rebelling" against their parents. I mean they don't beat their own children plus muhammadans are a protected class of "citizenry".
Now this is how it is in Sweden, can't really speak for the other nations but I suspect it's a similar situation there.
At 19:30 today (Saturday 20th) they started throwing stones again.
And at 21:15 a garbage disposal station was set on fire.
So they're still at it.
Now it's calm because the older muslims went out and calmed all down, by this scoring points with the dhimmis not realizing that it was these older muslims that was the instigators to the entire riot.
Like they did in the Paris riots.
