Slavery openly practiced through the spoils of "war" in Islam? Not much of a stretch coming from the minions who relish in their voluntary slavery to Allah.
And then there's Abdullah, who has the audacity to claim that "Islam eliminated slavery." Hence, my belief that Islam is Mirror world, where words mean the opposite.

I'm glad to see any attention brought to this issue, but how is this "news"? A former slave, Mende Nazer, wrote a widely-read book on her experiences as a slave in Sudan (and in Europe while living with her Sudanese owners) that was first published, I believe, in 1998. Others like Francis Bok have since published similar accounts, and Nazer and others have been interviewed on NPR, etc.
Maybe the only news here is that the BBC finally deigned to acknowledge this tragedy?

The mass rape of Darfurese woman by Arab marauders can be interpreted as a form of ethnic conquest. The thousands (if not tens of thousands) of babies now being born as a result of those rapes have Arab lineage.

But it is Islamic policy and the government must not pass laws that contradict the Qur'an.

No one should be surprised by this if you have read the quran. The creed of enslavement and brutalization of people subjegated by muslims has not been replealed since mohammed. It is part of the religion of "peace". As long as conquered people are on the chain gang and in fear of their lives the muslims see only peace - for them. That is the vision they have for all the kuffar. Convert, or pay the Jizya, or be a slave, or be dead. That is the "peace" of Islam.
I think it is true, what the government says, that rebels take slaves in that they force children to be soldiers - they did it in the south, where the tribes have always raided each others' women. But of course the government is being disingenuous, because the child soldier thing has been a desperate reaction to relentless attack, and the Arab soldiers are stealing black women and selling them. I thought Muslims could not enslave other Muslims, or kill other Muslims, so the conversion these Darfurians didn't do much for them in the end. In this case racism trumps religion, and I hope the southern people are very careful about giving in to the Arabs for the sake of "peace".

Within the Ummah, it appears, Arab Muslims have an unquestioned divine right to kill, rape, enslave and destroy black non-Arab fellow Muslims.
What is being done to the black Muslims in Darfur clearly reveals that Islam is the Arab Imperial Religion: just as Nazism was cooked up to rationalise/ mystify the right of 'Aryans' to enslave/ conquer/ exterminate non-Aryans, so Islam exists to rationalise/mystify the 'right' of the so-called 'noblest' or 'best of peoples'

In Trifkovic's 'Sword of the Prophet' he cites an Islamic text which explicitly exalts the Arabs over all others:

skewers the Arab supremacism of Islam. In chapter 6 he focuses on the verse about the 'best of peoples', and then in ch 7 he mentions the same tradition that Trifkovic referred to, describing its source as 'hadith no. 5751, Mishkat, Vol 3.'
It is one of the weirder ironies of American life that we have a whole movement of people promoting the idea that mohammedanism, or some variant of it, is the proper "black" religion, in contrast to "white" Christianity.
The idea has become common that mohammedanism is somehow more black-friendly than Christianity -- to the point where arabic sounding names are stylish and cool in a number of black neighborhoods around the country.
Yet the mohammedan parts of the world are the only place left where you can still buy a black slave.
Go figure!

Truth, plain and simple. That IS what Islam has evolved to become.
For the benefit of anyone but newly arrived to this comments floor, the other point to which attention must be drawn, is the fact that sharia - the immutable sacred 'law' of Islam - permits slavery and enslavement.
Muhammad had slaves, and enslaved people; EVERYTHING that Mohammed ever did, is - in the eyes of a pious Muslim - right, and worthy of imitation, for all time; so if one takes slaves, one is merely piously following the example of the 'prophet'.
If one compares the 'Cairo Declaration of Human Rights in Islam' (which repeatedly states that every provision within it must give way to the provisions and prescriptions of sharia) with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, one must note that although the Cairo declaration pays lip service to the prohibition of slavery (in article 11a), it also repeatedly states that everything in the declaration is subject to sharia; sharia trumps all.
Indeed, toward the end, in Article 24, the Cairo Declaration states flatly:
"All the rights and freedoms stipulated in this Declaration are subject to the Islamic Shari’ah."
So although 11a *sounds* good on the face of it - "Human beings are born free, and no one has the right to enslave, humiliate, oppress or exploit them, and there can be no subjugation but to God {i.e. allah - dda} the Most-High", we must remember that it is abrogated, so to speak, by article 24 - for sharia permits slavery and the taking of slaves.

I honestly can't feel sorry for Darfuri Muslims. If you have so little self-respect that you support an ideology that tells you that you go to hell until you are made white, that heaven is a Jim Crow/brothel paradise, that you are a "raisinhead" and Allah's dumbest creature, and that "Arabs" are the best of people, then the jihadis are really just doing what you asked for.
No mention of the Christian and animist Southern Sudanese. No need to worry about them. They're not child-molesting terrorists who pray for their own extinction 5 times a day. They're decent human beings who respect life, their own children, women, and who abide by the Golden Rule, so their lives don't matter.
Of course there's no mention of "Islamic sanctions."

I couldn't agree with you more on your summary of what islam is truly all about for black people. Too bad black "reverts" in America can't see things straight when it comes to their sick little cult (I guess they'd rather complain about having their human rights violated if they're asked to remove their turbans or headscarves for a security check.)
And the same goes for self-hating A-rab lovers like Jesse Jackson and Jeremiah Wright, who dare to call Israel a racist country, when we know that Israel is the only country in the Middle East where blacks are regarded as human beings.
I came across this article about how ridiculous it is for blacks to be Muslim and the incredible racism in Islam. This was the money reference:

I hate how people try to push Islam on black people as "the proper black religion." Judaism and Christianity enshrined equality for all. Abolition of slavery is foundational to both faiths. Those are the "proper" religions for black people. And look at successful black people in this world. They're all Christian with the exception of a few Jews. How does mental, if not physical, enslavement somehow appeal to people who get suckered into this? You wanna talk about "the man" keeping you down? Try having 120 million of your bros enslaved, all the women made to be sex slaves/Arab breeding factories, and then 75% of the men killed in transit?
And not only is Israel the only country in the Middle East in which blacks are even regarded as people, but it's the only one that has any black people in it. Oh, and they imported them because they wanted to come, not because they were forced to.
American Blacks have never lived under real oppression. Race hustlers use the history of slavery and JIM CROW in America to get rich. Booker T. Washington said the same about Black race hustlers in 1910. It is so sad that Islam, which provided the Black African slaves for Europeans, get a pass for the deaths and slavery of over 300 million in the Eastern Slave Trade. Arabs are tan today from the rape of millions of little girls and women as they are still doing today and not a word from the Black Caucaus, the NAACP, NOI, or any prominent Black Anything/Nothing. A prominent Black minister has a book coming out, "IS ISLAM REALLY A BLACK MAN'S RELIGION?" I KNOW HE WILL GET A HOSTILE REACTION FROM THE HOLY BLACK WARRIORS OF Muhammad aka Allah. Like most Christians who dont read the Bible, most Muslims dont read the Quran. Black colleges have become the victims of the hoax, and under the disguise of multiculturalism, Swahili is now an African language, when in reality it is a mixture of Arabic and Bantu used mostly in trade.
I see Jeremiah Wright and Jesse Jackson have not moved to the wonderful land of Islam. Wright lives with the "rich white men" he hates in a gated community. Jesse is a millionaire. Although he started out with good intentions, he became sorted. Al Sharpton too, but he did speak out about the Arabs calling Obama a "house negro". He was the only one! No word from the Black Caucaus.
Rap music is owned by Muslims influences, yet Islam hates music. The fact that Islam says no to music and Africans have sang and dance since time began, should be enough to show naive blacks that ISLAM IS NOT YOUR RELIGION, AS AFRICANS HAD A MOON GOD NAMED NOD BEFORE MUHAMMAD WAS BORN.
Quran says that Allah is the greatest liar (Sura 3:54) why would GOD have to lie or scheme? Based on the verse alone, it tells one that Allah is none other than Satan the Devil and he was the Jinn who spoke to Muhammad and followed him around as he said.

Tilly - are you Black yourself? If so: do you know about St Josephina Bakhita, born in Darfur in the 1860s? She should be thoroughly publicised and venerated among black Catholics in places like New Orleans.
Her story is a window onto the horrors that the Muslim Arab slave raiders inflicted upon Africa. Her memoirs tell of the kidnap and enslavement of a little black African girl; her forcible 'conversion' to Islam; the horrible, totally dehumanising treatment she suffered under Arab and Turkish Muslim slave-masters; and her deliverance from hell on earth, when an Italian diplomat bought her to be nursemaid to his children and eventually took her home to Italy, where she was freed from slavery, and where she converted to Christianity and ended her days as a much-beloved Sister in a convent, dying in 1947. She was only recently declared to be a Saint.
Someone should do an all-singing all-dancing epic black rap/ rock/ gospel/jazz folk opera about the life story of St Josephina Bakhita, and use it to rip the lid off the horrors that the Arab Muslim slave takers inflicted on Africa for 1200 years, and that they are *still* inflicting, in Sudan and elsewhere.
(Just as I wish I knew how to shove the story of Sol Hachuel of Morocco under the nose of Stephen Sondheim with a challenge: turn THIS into a chamber opera and give us a searing portrait, in three acts, of the full horror of what it was like to live as a Jewish dhimmi under Islam).
