U.K.: Counterterror advisor to Metropolitan Police is on Interpol wanted list

He advocated the overthrow of the Tunisian government in favor of an Islamic state. The report below mentions that British security services did not regard him as a threat when Tunisia requested his extradition in 1997. Surely, they'll want to revisit that assessment.

In the meantime, are they studying what he tells them in the way criminologists interview convicts in an effort to prevent future crimes, or in a more trusting frame of mind?

"Terrorism adviser to Met is on wanted list," by Richard Kerbaj and Dominic Kennedy for the Times Online, December 15 (thanks to all who sent this in):

A man wanted by Interpol for his links to an alleged terrorist organisation has been advising Scotland Yard on countering Muslim extremism, a Times investigation has discovered.
Mohamed Ali Harrath has been the subject of the Interpol red notice since 1992 because of his alleged activities in Tunisia, where he co-founded the Tunisian Islamic Front (FIT).
Tunisia has accused Mr Harrath, the chief executive officer of the Islam Channel in Britain and an adviser to the Scotland Yard Muslim Contact Unit, of seeking help from Osama bin Laden. It says that the FIT wants to establish “an Islamic state by means of armed revolutionary violence”.
Mr Harrath has been convicted in absentia of numerous criminal and terrorism-related offences by Tunisian courts and sentenced to 56 years in prison. Tunisia is an ally of the West in the fight against terrorism but is regarded by critics as a police or one-party state. Its secular Government regards those who advocate an Islamic state as a threat to its stability.
The Times has also learnt that, in evidence before Britain’s Special Immigration Appeals Commission in 2003, an MI5 witness accused the FIT of terrorism activities in France. Mr Harrath denies this, saying his movement was wrongly blamed by the French courts for founding a guerrilla network that held banned military weapons.
No one has ever produced evidence linking Mr Harrath to any terrorist activity. Despite this, he is still the subject of an Interpol red notice — its highest level of alert – as a terrorist suspect and countries are urged to arrest and extradite him. His lawyers have sought to remove the notice but in the meantime this extraordinary state of affairs remains unresolved.
Mr Harrath admitted setting up the FIT but said that it was a “nonviolent political party founded in 1986 to oppose the one-party state in Tunisia”. He stated unequivocally: “We are not extremists and we are not terrorists and we [sic] never been involved in any such activities”. However, he added that “revolution is not [necessarily] a dirty word” and “there is nothing wrong or criminal in trying to establish an Islamic state”.
Despite Mr Harrath being wanted by Interpol, Scotland Yard has appointed him as adviser to its Muslim Contact Unit on preventing extremism and terrorism. Mr Harrath told The Times that he was “regularly consulted in an advisory capacity by the Muslim Contact Unit of the British police for guidance on best practice in relation to counter-terrorism issues and combating extremism”.
The unit’s former head, Robert Lambert, wrote in a letter of support to Mr Harrath that he had made a “key contribution to our efforts to defeat adverse influence of al-Qaeda in the UK”.
The British Government refused a request by the Tunisian Government in 1997 to have him extradited. According to his lawyers, “the UK security services informed Mr Harrath that the UK did not regard him as a threat and that there was no basis for the Tunisian extradition request, which the Tunisian authorities had wholly failed to substantiate”.
His political views and wish to overthrow Tunisia’s Government have, however, raised alarm in British circles. One government minister said: “That is not acceptable. We have a problem with that because Tunisia is our ally. Tunisia today, UK tomorrow.”

There was Mr. Islam advising Mr.England in the Pentagon. There are the representatives of CAIR, possibly the most sinister of all the many sinister Muslim groups in this country, who are asked to give presentations to local police and even to the F.B.I., on how best to treat and outreach and so on the "Muslim community." And now somewhat who is wanted, by the largely secular regime of Ben Ali, who has followed in the footsteps of Habib Bourguiba and his Destour Party, for connections to, and support for, Islam-based terrorists, turns out to have been retained as an adviser to the Metropolitan Police in London, all the while remaining on Interpol's list.

There's a whole lot of this going around. Anyone care to explain just why?

Having this totally alien population with no allegiance to Britain or western values involves a lot of complications. Will somebody please remind me of the advantages of having a hostile foreign culture occupy large parts of your nation?

"Mr Harrath told The Times that he was “regularly consulted in an advisory capacity by the Muslim Contact Unit of the British police for guidance on best practice in relation to counter-terrorism issues and combating extremism”.

If Mr. Harrath was really aiding the British police in combating terrorism, he would be dead by now. He's playing the British for fools, and they are willing tp be to play the fools.

This kind of stuff is utterly unbelievable! And one of the reasons Jihad Watch is such a valuable site. Thank you so much for letting us know this stuff - if it wasn't so suicidally tragic it would be hysterically funny.

As Hugh said, there's lots of this going around. WHY?

I'm sure he's been full of advice for the British coppers. How much of it has been good advice is another question.

Anyone care to explain just why? - asks Mr Hugh Fitzgerald.

In addition to folly, and obstinacy, and greed, there may also be fear.

It occurs to me to wonder how many people, in key positions, all over the media, civil service, judiciary, and executive of the non-Muslim world, may have been either directly threatened, or subtly or unsubtly blackmailed. The mafia used to do that in Italy, to police, to judges, to lawyers, to politicians. What's to stop the Ummah, the Muslim Mob, from doing the same? From having done the same?

keystone cops at it again!

Anyone care to explain just why? - asks Mr Hugh Fitzgerald.

The phenomenon is too widespread and systemic to be attributable to individual cases of blackmail. But dumbledoresarmy is right about fear being an underlying root-cause.

It's not an individual fear, but a mass fear, one so terrifying in its implications that denial is not only deemed preferable, it is embraced enthusiastically to erase doubt...and finds all manner of expression.

JW/DWer's:

Typad works best when the "remember me" box is checked.

Please read the following article regarding the inventor of the neutron bomb. It is intended for all serious readers and those who wish to know where we stand at this moment with Islamic Nuclear Powers, etc.

And here is the link to the movie mentioned before called "Khartoum". Please watch this free movie all the way through as it is a fine example of how westerners should verbally fence with muslims and never give in.

Watch as Charlton Heston drains the spirit out of Sir Lawrence Olivier (Muslim terrorist of the 1800's in Sudan who thinks he is "the Madhi").

Heston intuitively knows how to crush the muslim lies and spirit, both in combat and in the negotiating tent. A must watch for all serious JW/DWer's at the insistance of another JW'er.

Robert, this article should be accompanied by an appropriate illustration.

It was a great honor and pleasure to have finally met you, at yesterday's Facing Jihad conference.

The advantages are quite straight forward Culturist. The socialist left are using this in pour of anti British immigrants as well as the continued destruction of Britishness in schools to totally destroy the Nation State, Nationalism and a love for one's country.
The left believes that once they've managed to do the above then peace, and harmony can be achieved and we'll all be able to live happily ever after in one big love bubble.
They still however haven't yet realised that by having a 'hostile foreign culture' living alongside them, ultimately spells doom for them and the country. They are totally unaware that if you allow another culture space to grow it will fight for supremacy. They are also oblivious in realising that having destroyed all Nationality and subsequent defence within their country, they will be powerless to defeat this new hostile culture and have a choice to make of leaving the UK, therefore having to adapt to be part of another culture, or stay in the UK and become part of this new culture.

The left wing are like the idiots who climb high trees, sit on their bows and then start sawing away at them, leading to their demise.

Regarding the main post, is anyone surprised by this?
We have known in the UK for a long time that our government associates with known Islamic Organisation all over the UK that are merely smokescreens for Islamist Terror groups. These associations are either registered as charities and/or receiving government and/or National Lottery handouts to promote their agendas.
We all know how 'Red' Ken Livingstone was quite the host to Yussef al-Qaradawi, which caused outrage amongst his rainbow coalition that got him into power.
This man is no doubt one of many that our government and security services deal with. They do not realise that a Muslim's loyalty is to Islam before anything else.

Britain could now be regarded as a state sponsoring terrorists - very much like pakistan, a bankrupt country who uses every dime it extorts from the US and Britain to train and send jihaids over the border to India.

No More Ham, Ed the webline of the film you have does not work outside the US. :(

Completely agree Hermit.
As a Brit living in London I couldn't agree more and I've already written about exactly what you've said.
If the UK is harbouring terrorists, educating these terrorists, allowing these terrorists to grow and spread their Islamic terror through mosques, universities and schools, not forgetting classing these terrorists as 'British Citizens' then I would fully welcome Air strikes by the USA on the UK, as it seems our government is ignoring these very facts.
Islam is growing in the UK at a rapid rate. Our government knowingly deals with terrorist organisations who hide behind names such as the Muslim Council of Britain. We have seen how the government/security services was also more intent on seeing the prosecution of CH4 documentary makers on the dangers of Islam and not bringing the Muslim Clerics to justice.

The UK really is now becoming no different to states in the World that openly allows the training of Islamist Jihadi groups. Hizb ut Tahrir is not banned, Anjem Choudary is allowed to preach his hatred in the UK, IN COMMUNITY CENTRES no doubt!

I welcome outside intervention on taking back the UK as our government seems intent on its Islamisation.

This whole story could have been made up by Monty Python. Talk about stupid people! Not all British are stupid but most of the pencil pushers are.

You know, there is one simple way of stopping this madness and that is to say NO to all appeasements regarding islam and muslims.

Instead of Obamas one liner "Yes, we can!", The rest of the Western World should have one like this for islam and muslims... "No, we won't"

It is really easy to do this, the hard thing for most people is to ignore the politically correct idiots labelling them as racists, xenophobes, islamophobes, nazists. Once through that, we will suppress this threat quite easily. We will probably see a large scale exodus of muslims going home.

Whsen is the Western world going to realize that no Muslim can be trusted. They are all of the umma of dar al Islam and we are the infidels of dar al harb. Thse two societies are oil and water, never to be mixed. Trust not the advise of any Muslim. Their sole objective is our downfall and subjugation. Amen.

That line - NO, WE WON'T - reminded me of two things.

It reminded me of two scenes in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire: one, in which the fake Mad-Eye Moody puts the Imperius curse on Harry, who resists it; and the other, in which Voldemort puts it on Harry, and he throws it off.

It also reminded me of a passage in Ayaan Hirsi Ali's 'Infidel', when she describes her attempts to become a pious Muslim girl, under the instruction of a Muslim Brotherhood revivalist, Sister Aziz.

We can allow both episodes, Rowlings' fictional and Ayaan's factual, to give us insight into what it takes to resist Islam's demand to 'Submit!!!'

I'll quote the relevant passages from Rowlings, and put the Ayaan account in a separate posting. Compare, contrast, and learn.

Here is Harry Potter encountering the Imperius curse for the first time:

"Potter', Moody growled. 'You next.'

'Harry moved forward into the middle of the classroom, into the space that Moody had cleared of desks. Moody raised his wand, pointed it at Harry, and said, 'Imperio'.

'It was the most wonderful feeling. Harry felt a floating sensation as every thought and worry in his head was wiped gently away, leaving nothing but a vague, untraceable happiness. He stood there feeling immensely relaxed, only dimly aware of everyone watching him.

'And then he heard Mad-Eye Moody's voice, echoing in some distant chamber of his empty brain. * Jump onto the desk...jump onto the desk*.
'Harry bent his knees obediently, preparing to spring.
'*Jump onto the desk'*.
'Why, though?
Another voice had awoken in the back of his brain. Stupid thing to do, really, said the voice.
*Jump onto the desk*...
No, I don't think I will, thanks, said the other voice, a little more firmly...no, I don't really want to...
*Jump! NOW!*
The next thing Harry felt was considerable pain. He had both jumped and tried to prevent himself from jumping - the result was that he'd smashed headlong into the desk, knocking it over, and, by the feeling in his legs, fractured both his kneecaps.

'Now, that's more like it, growled Moody's voice, and suddenly Harry felt the empty, echoing feeling in his head disappear. He remembered exactly what was happening, and the pain in his knees seemed to double.

'Look at that, you lot...Potter fought! He fought it, and he damn near beat it! We'll try that again, Potter, and the rest of you, pay attention - watch his eyes, that's where you see it - very good, Potter, very good indeed! They'll {they, being the Death Eaters - dda} have trouble controlling *you*!"...

and Moody "insisted on putting Harry through his paces four times in a row, until Harry could throw the curse off entirely."

Then, during the confrontation with Voldemort at the end of Goblet of Fire, Harry meets the Imperius curse again, and resists it:

'I asked you whether you want me to do that again?' said Voldemort softly. ''Answer me! IMPERIO!'
'and Harry felt, for the third time in his life, the sensation that his mind had been wiped of all thought....ah, it was bliss, not think, it was as though he was floating, dreaming - *just answer 'no'...say 'no'...just answer 'no'...
I will not, said a stronger voice, in the back of his head, I won't answer.
*Just answer, No...*
I won't do it, I won't say it...
*Just answer 'no'*...
"I WON'T!"
'And these words burst from Harry's mouth; they echoed through the graveyard and the dream state was lifted as suddenly as though cold water had been thrown over him..back rushed the aches that the Cruciatus curse had left all over his body...back rushed the realisation of where he was, and what he was facing...". END QUOTE.

I have often thought that Rowlings' description of the 'bliss' of the cessation of thought that is associated with being placed under the 'Imperius' curse, might actually be the 'peace' that Muslim apologists like to rhapsodise about. The 'peace' of submission, of stopping thinking, questioning, resisting; and doing whatever you're told... no matter how terrible it is.

And in that state, those who have submitted - whether Muslim or dhimmi - will do ANYTHING.

Just as Rowlings' character explains about the Imperius curse:

'Total control', said Moody quietly..."I could make it [a spider, placed under the Imperius curse] jump out of the window, drown itself, throw itself down one of your throats...

(Sounds a bit like the story from the Hadith where one of Mohammed's followers shocked a kinsman by saying that if Mohammed ordered him [the follower] to kill him [the kinsman] he would have done so.)

'Years back, there were a lot of witches and wizards being controlled by the Imperius curse...

'Some job for the Ministry, trying to sort out who was being forced to act, and who was acting of their own free will.

'The Imperius curse can be fought, and I'll be teaching you how, but it takes real strength of character, and not everyone's got it. Better avoid being hit with it if you can: CONSTANT VIGILANCE!' he barked, and everyone jumped." END QUOTE.

Rowlings' Moody in this context is essentially telling us the same thing as the well-known dictum, 'the price of liberty is eternal vigilance'.

Never was that statement more true than today.

Now for Ayaan's story:

"I was beginning to rebel internally against women's traditional subservience. In those days I was still wearing a hidjab. I thought a lot about God, how to be good in His eyes, and about the beauty of obedience and submission.

'I tried to still my mind so that it would become a simple vessel for the will of Allah and the words of the Quran.

{NB - doesn't this sound like an attempt to act as if you've been hit with the 'Imperius' curse? - to become a blank slate, programmed with the Quranic commands, passive, unquestioning, doing whatever you're told no matter how bizarre it is? - dda}

'But my mind seemed bent on being distracted from the Straight Path.

'Something inside me always resisted the moral values behind Sister Aziza's lectures; a small spark of independence.

'Perhaps it was a reaction to the stark gap between the behavior demanded by the Holy Writings and the realities of actual daily life,..Even as a child I could never comprehend the downright unfairness of the rules, especially for women. How could a just God - a God so just that almost every page of the Quran praises his fairness - desire that women be treated so unfairly?...'

{when I read this, I was reminded of Harry Potter - "Another voice had awoken in the back of his brain. 'Stupid thing to do, really', said the voice" - dda}.

'Inwardly, I resisted the teachings, and secretly I transgressed them. Like many of the other girls in my class, I continued to read sensual romance novels and trashy thrillers, even though I knew that doing so was resisting Islam in the most basic way...

'A Muslim woman must not feel wild, or free, or any of the other emotions and longings I felt when I read those books. A Muslim girl does not make her own decisions or seek control. She is trained to be docile. If you are a Muslim girl, you disappear, until there is almost no you inside you.

'In Islam, becoming an individual is not a necessary development; many people, especially women, never develop a clear individual will.

'You submit; that is the literal meaning of the word *islam*: submission.

'The goal is to become quiet inside, so that you never raise your eyes, not even inside your mind.'

{Now compare that stated goal of Islam - the total nullification of the individual will - with the effect of the Imperius curse, as described by Rowlings. Creepy, isn't it? The other creepy parallel, of course, is that those under the Imperius curse were frequently told to do evil things - to kill, to betray - dda}.

Ayaan continues:

"But the spark of will inside me grew even as I studied and practised to submit.

'It was fanned by the free-spirited novels, the absence of my father, and the frustration of watching my mother's helplessness living in a non-Muslim country. Most of all, I think it was the novels that saved me from submission. I was young, but the first, tiny, meek beginnings of my rebellion had already clicked into place." END QUOTE.

Let's go back to Harry Potter:

*Jump onto the desk'*.
'Why, though?
Another voice had awoken in the back of his brain. Stupid thing to do, really, said the voice.
*Jump onto the desk*...
No, I don't think I will, thanks, said the other voice, a little more firmly...no, I don't really want to...".

There, in real life, Ayaan Hirsi Ali did exactly what Rowlings' fictional character does. On the one hand, the 'spell', the command, the demand, that she submit, that she make herself into a thing that does what it is told; on the other, the little voice that says, 'stupid thing to do, really',...'No, I don't think I will...No, I don't really want to...I WON'T!'

For Ayaan, the act of apostasy is the real-life parallel to Harry's throwing off the imperius curse.

For us in the West, we have to recognise that the Muslims in our midst are trying to hit us with the real-life equivalent of the Imperius curse: they are trying to make us act like dhimmis.

Just as Ayaan describes Muslim women and Muslims generally trying to erase themselves, give up their will, become passive vehicles of the Quran-Sira-Hadith programming, so too dhimmis are supposed to allow themselves to be treated like things, without protest.

Here, to finish off this long meditation on submission and resistance, is what one Sufi Muslim declared should happen to dhimmis, as noted on Andrew Bostom's blog, 22.3.2008:

"a remarkably candid assessment by the 18th century Moroccan Sufi “master” Ibn Ajibah from his Koranic commentary, a work I was made aware of by my colleague, Dr. Mark Durie.

"Describing unabashedly the purpose of the Koranic poll tax (as per Koran 9:29) of submission for non-Muslims brought under Islamic hegemony by jihad, Ibn Ajibah makes clear

the ultimate goal of its imposition was to achieve what he called the death of the “soul”,

through the dhimmi’s execution of their own humanity:

QUOTE
[The dhimmi] is commanded to put his soul, good fortune and desires to death.

'Above all he should kill the love of life, leadership and honor.

[The dhimmi] is to invert the longings of his soul, he is to load it down more heavily than it can bear until it is completely submissive.

'Thereafter nothing will be unbearable for him. He will be indifferent to subjugation or might.

'Poverty and wealth will be the same to him; praise and insult will be the same; preventing and yielding will be the same; lost and found will be the same.

'Then, when all things are the same, it [the soul] will be submissive and yield willingly what it should give.

[Tafsir ibn ‘Ajibah. Commentary on Q9:29. Ahmad ibn Muhammad Ibn `Ajibah]".

The Muslims all over the kafir lands are hitting us, today, with their version of the Imperius curse: demanding that we bend to their will, submit to the inhuman antilaw that is sharia, sharia that gives amoral Muslim despots the power of life and death over Muslims and non-Muslims.

In response we have to find the strength of will that enables the fictional Harry and the real-life Ayaan to listen to, and act upon, that other little voice that says, louder and louder, 'NO WE WON'T!'.

'

The last line is the bell ringer:

"One government minister said: “That is not acceptable. We have a problem with that because Tunisia is our ally. Tunisia today, UK tomorrow.”

Tunisia today, UK tomorrow. I think tomorrow has been here for the UK for some time. Recent stories tell of cancelled Christmas programs and removal of the cross in a combined group worship chapel at a new prison. England already has Sharia courts - and British courts don't seem intent or even interested in changing that.

I think the UK is gone. That's sad - and very alarming. They had actually done a lot of good all over the world.
