There are conflicting reports as to whether or not Russia actually has sold missiles to Iran. In any case, it wouldn't be surprising if it had -- extreme in its short-sightedness, Putin's Russia has never shied away from aiding the forces of the global jihad, despite fighting its own war against jihadists in the Caucasus.
"US warns Russia against selling missiles to Iran," by Lolita C. Baldor for AP, December 23:
WASHINGTON (AP) — U.S. officials said Monday that they want answers from Russia on whether it is selling advanced surface-to-air missiles to Iran, a move the U.S. insists could threaten American troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. A senior military intelligence official said that while Moscow has sent out conflicting responses to reports on the sale of long-range S-300 missiles, the U.S. believes it is taking place. However, it appears that no equipment has yet been delivered to Iran, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter.Russia's state arms export agency said Monday it is supplying Iran with defensive weapons, including surface-to-air missiles, but did not say whether they include sophisticated long-range S-300 missiles.
State Department spokesman Robert Wood said the U.S. is seeking clarification from Russia.
"We have repeatedly made clear at senior levels of the Russian government that we would strongly oppose the sale of the S-300," Wood said. "As the U.S. government has said before, this is not the time for business as usual with the Iranian government."...
I agreefully that Russia should not sell weapons to a islamic state like Iran.
But what right does the U.S.A. have to make that point to Russia while it is the U.S.A. itself that is selling advanced weapons (f.e. F 16 fighter jets with air-air missiles) to Pakistan. And it is the U.S.A that is selling arms and giving aid to other middle-eastern muslim countries.
Both Russia and the U.S.A should realise that a time will come when their own weapons (which they used to sell or give to the muslims) will be used against them.
I think that it is high time for a summit of non-islamic countries where the leaders of those non-islamic countries agree not to sell weapons to muslim countries, not to give any form of aid to muslim countries and not to allow any form of immigration from muslim countries.
But realistacly speaken there is not much cance that will happen. European leaders are to bussy pandering to the muslims and the U.S.A. and Russia still think of each other as rivals while they should unite against the common enemy called islam.
Rammer
Unfortunately, the world is still running on the philosophy that "the enemy of my enemy...". If we, the non-islamic countries do not learn our lessons soon, as we in the US did not after Afghanistan, and Beiruit, and yes, now, Pakistan, and Saudi, and Turkey, etc., etc., our worst fears may become a reality.
rammer,
I agree with parts of your post and I do(just to add to more of your post) find it exceptionally hypocritical to tell Russia not to sell missiles to Iran when the USA/UK trained and supplied the Taliban against the Russians in the Soviet-Afghan War War of '78 - '88.
Russia is playing a deadly game, as were the Americans and the British. Thankfully America has woken up, Britain is still yet to and I hop Russia doesn't believe that it has Islam under control.
However rammer, it is the very Russian communist(Marxist) ideology that has ripped Europe and the West asunder, that has created the left wing love affair with Islam. Don't let the 'new' Russia fool you. They may have moved away from the USSR briefly with Gorbachev and Yeltsin, but Putin was KGB and a member of the Communist party(up until the 90's). He is a communist and very much in control of Russia. He is anti West and soon to be the President again, as his puppet Medvedev, keeps the seat warm as well as instituting his plans while as the Soviet Chief. I have no doubt in my mind that Putin is doing his best to waken the great bear and recreate the USSR, there's no doubt and his followers in Europe are doing exactly the same with the creation of the EUSR supranation.
There is a lot of money to be made by the Russians supplying the Iranians with weapons. There is no honour in it but then the West also has no honour as its been supplying despots and rogue regimes with weapons for a long long time. The defence and military hardware business is one of the biggest earners for any 1st World western nation.
I however have a strong feeling that Russia is arming its own assassins as we are in the West. Islam is winning by divide and conquer. He has Nations in the West at each others throats and dividing them. This is a classic strategy that an enemy used to destroy its foe.
We don't let children play with matches............
Whether it be an oil cartel or weapon cartel, why in the world aren't Western gov'ts banding together to give these morally-bankrupt regimes a taste of their own medicine?
I think $10,000/ton for wheat supplied to OPEC/CIS states is fair, just as Saudi thinks $75/bbl is fair. And I think an Airbus 380 at $1-billion is just right to provide aircraft manufacturers to continue producing jumbos. $50,000/Kilowatt for nuclear plants sounds just about right. And a Toyota Tundra at $250,000 would be perfect, I think.
Why isn't there a wheat-cartel like OPEC? Why isn't there a car-vehicle cartel like OPEC? Why isn't there a tech-cartel like OPEC? Their crazy prices directly affect the parts of our populations most needy...so why not do the same to them? What are we thinking, people? You can't eat gas, oil and S-300's... let them try.
Our enemies don't understand nice, they respect power. With the taquiya, they have a moral obligation to lie, they won't goto hell if it's to fool the infidel.
"I have no doubt in my mind that Putin is doing his best to waken the great bear and recreate the USSR, there's no doubt and his followers in Europe are doing exactly the same with the creation of the EUSR supranation."
Putin is a nationalist who wants a strong Russia with a strong christian orthodox identity ; our leaders want a Federal Europe with no identity, they can't even recognize the christian roots of europe. See the problem
Does Putin just honestly not see the harm he does to his own country by strengthening Iran, or is his hatred of America so intense that he will do anything to undermine us? I just really don't understand him sometimes. I've read quotes from his speeches involving Chechnya and he is so right on a number of things--yet his support of Iran is so wrong and goes against what he says regarding jihad in Chechnya.
Well, as previously stated - the USA is arming Pakistan, Saudis etc. And let's not forget that the USA created two new Muslim states in Europe, even fought against Christians to achieve that. Even with that on mind, I agree Russians should not arm Iran under no circumstances.
But, Putin is not that stupid after all...
Péguy,
I have no doubt that Putin is still a communist. He may have said he will protect the Christian Orthodox Church, but then that is no doubt due to the troubles in Chechnya and the Caucasus.
I really don't believe that you can be a member of the KGB and a communist for 16 years and then just abandon that. I truly believe that Putin is restructuring Russia in order to create a new USSR.
Let us try not to repeat the folly of Persia and Byzantium - who fought each other to a standstill, and then the Muslim vultures swooped in and ate them up.
There is one small, positive thing that any of us can do to try to promote civil society in the Russian Federation: support the work of the Bible Society in Russia. At present, the Society has been able to distribute scriptures to soldiers and officers in the Russian Army, and even to members of the Duma.
It's a bit of a cliche, but, it really happens: Russians who 'get religion' (the Christian variety) do tend to lay off the vodka, stop thinking suicidally, stop bashing their wife, and look around for something useful and productive to do. If a 'critical mass' of such people were reached...well, frankly, it could save Russia. Pray for the new Patriarch of the Russian Church; pray that he will be Islamosavvy and that he will firmly resist jihad and sharia creep.
Catholic and Protestant Christian jihadwatchers should be praying fervently for a renewal of holy life and love and healthy Christian community within the Russian church.
Beyond that we can be looking for ways to build friendships with Orthodox Christians of all stripes who reside within the West; especially with those who (e.g. Greeks, Serbs, Romanians and Bulgarians) come from communities that survived the seven hells of dhimmitude. We should be finding ways to stand with, and support, Maronites, Copts, Assyrians, and also the Ethiopians.
Every little bit helps; every thread that can bind together the different kafir communities and make it possible for them to cooperate against the monster that threatens us all.
Question: have any of Mr Spencer's or Mr Bostom's books been translated into Russian? If not, is there any prospect of such work being undertaken?
Apparently Iran,Syria,Turkey have been negotiating for the purchase of the S-300 system for a couple of years now. Algeria and China have already received shipments of these missiles. Iran apparently signed deals to buy these missiles more than a year ago according to defenceupdate.com.
The Russian S-300 anti-aircraft system and the system's long-range capability has the potential to complicate any plans for a pre-emptive air and missile strike by US or Israeli warplanes. The new technology incorporated into the S-300 anti-aircraft system puts it at least at par with, if not superior in some respects, to the US Patriot missiles. With this new deal, the S-300 system will augment the TOR-M1 anti-aircraft missiles that Iran purchased from Russia and received earlier this year. While the TOR-M1 missiles are restricted in their range, and intended to take on lower-flying planes, unmanned vehicles and precision-guided weapons, the S-300 missiles will take on targets at a distance, such as AWACS and other stand-off weapon platforms.
The deal allows Iran to put in place a two-tier missile and aircraft defence system that will be modern and quite lethal.
It serves to disturb all scenarios that were being looked at by US, European and Israeli air forces exercising their superior capabilities to carry out 'surgical' strikes on Iranian nuclear and other strategic installations.
Clearly the former Soviet Union is not in a camp that seeks to preserve the safety nets that NATO and Western Allies are trying to develop when it comes to the radical nature of countries like Iran, let alone Syria.
And while we are speaking about translation - perhaps there may be someone out there who can translate into Russian Dr Andrew Bostom's frontpage article, 'John Quincy Adams Knew Jihad':
http://frontpagemag.com/Articles/Read.aspx?GUID=F3F5C99B-338A-4BC1-A4B2-585EFE643619
and not only that article, but the entirety of the original essays upon which it draws, namely:
“Unsigned essays dealing with the Russo-Turkish War, and on Greece, written while JQA was in retirement, before his election to Congress in 1830”
[Chapters X-XIV (pp. 267-402) in The American Annual Register for 1827-28-29. New York, 1830.]
Those essays by JQA concerning Greece, and the Russo-Turkish war, should be republished, in their entirety, in cheap and accessible pamphlet form, in Greek, Russian and English - with suitable annotation by Mr Bostom, Mr Spencer, and Mr Trifkovic.
For John Quincy Adams was implacably opposed to the Mohammedans, and sympathised strongly with the non-Muslims (whether Greek or Russian) in their struggle against Jihad.
It might be illuminating, even encouraging, for those within Russia who are of a civilised disposition, and are worrying about Jihad, but also fearful about the USA, to discover to their surprise that one of the USA's greatest sons wrote so eloquently, and fiercely, about the perfidy which the Muslim Turks practised against Christian Tsarist Russia, perfidy which the newborn USA had also painfully experienced; and that he condemned the foolish realpolitik which led countries like Britain to betray their fellow Christians and support the Muslims.
To revisit John Quincy Adams might do some good in both Russia and the USA.
(Meanwhile the British can perhaps dig out, and revisit, the words of Gladstone who scathingly condemned his own country's appeasement of the Islamosphere).
"Question: have any of Mr Spencer's or Mr Bostom's books been translated into Russian? If not, is there any prospect of such work being undertaken?"
If no translations exist now and none come about in the next several years, I would be honoured to translate Spencer's or Bostom's work.

Supreme Russian Islamic award bestowed on PNA President (updated)
Moscow, December 22, Interfax - Head of the Council of Muftis of Russia Ravil Gainutdin has decorated Palestinian National Authority (PNA) President Mahmoud Abbas with the supreme Russian Islamic award, the Al Fahr Order.
The ceremony took place at the Council of Muftis residence on Monday morning.
Abbas received the award for restoring Palestinian statehood, making a substantial contribution in the Palestinian-Israeli settlement and the Middle East peace process, and promoting peace, accord and inter-religious dialog, as well as fraternal relations between the Palestinian and Russian peoples.
I want to remind people of a old, old saying, when We have all killed each other, Who will be left to fight???
Yes, absolutely Russia should stop selling any weapons to Iran and even to other muslim countries. And this is true also with the USA and other Christian countries in the world. Today the world is being prosecuted especially Christians by the muslims in the guise of holy war because they said islam is being threatened.
The ban on arm sell for muslim countries should be widen to include immigration and deport all muslims to their county of origin. Christian leaders the world over should unite to protect Christianity and our way of live against islam and the bloody way of live of the muslims who has no respect for for live. Above all America should use its awesome military power to protect and even create an independent Christian nations in the middle east both for Iraqi and other Arab Christians.
Dennis, I don't know how feasible deporting all Muslims would be. Stopping immigration, yes, but deporting raises many questions. Perhaps only the ones who are here illegally, but that should happen to all illegal immigrants.
Richard the Lionheart gives a good assesment of the situation in communist Russia. Do not be fooled by Putin at all. He is a communist and is consolidating his control and grip on the entire soviet operation. Why should we believe anything that they tell us? I am sure they do not believe what we tell them and it is pretty damn hard to tell them not sell these weapons not only to iran but other countries as well. Putin's actions in Georgia drive home the point how he feels about the west, and he has no plans to do anything that might stabilize this and many other areas of conflict that Moscow has recently generated.
Israel and the west have waited too long to take out iran's nuclear facilities.Should have been done at the very least a couple of years ago.I do not expect much resistance from our new president elect and his incoming cabinet choices. These losers will want to talk, sign treaties and negotiate whatever advantages the USA has, away in the name of peace and that oh so warm and fuzzy feeling that the socialistactrats love and cherish,as Rome burns under their feet.
