Banned front for Lashkar-e-Taiba reappears under new name

Jamaat-ud-Dawa itself was formed in 2007 to operate legally after Lashkar-e-Taiba was banned. An update on this story. "Jamaat-ud-Dawa reincarnates itself after UNSC ban," from the Economic Times, January 1:

NEW DELHI: Banned by the UN Security Council after Mumbai attacks, Pakistan-based Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD) has reincarnated itself under a new name to escape any restrictions on its activities, officials said on Thursday.
JuD, a front organisation of banned Lashkar-e-Taiba, has apparently renamed itself as 'Tehreek-e-Hurmat-e-Rasool' (Movement for defending the honour of God), sources said.

Multiple Indian news sites are presenting the same translation of the new name. However, Rasool means "messenger," and thus refers to Muhammad.

The JuD's move to rename itself is clearly aimed at avoiding curbs which Pakistan could be forced to apply on it because of UNSC sanctions of last December 11, they said.
The indication of JuD having changed its name came when senior cadres of the outfit organised a rally in Pakistan recently under the banner of Tehreek-e-Hurmat-e-Rasool (THR), the sources said.
"We have come to know they (JuD) have started off in a new name," Foreign Secretary Shivshankar Menon told AIR, adding the website of the outfit is also still being updated.
In fact, JuD itself is a reincarnated version of LeT, coming into being after the latter was banned by the US seven years ago.
Formed in 1990 in Kunar province of Afghanistan, LeT does not believe in democracy and Saeed, its founder leader, has publicly declared it several times that 'jihad' is the "only way Pakistan can move towards dignity and prosperity".
India feels that Pakistan is using 'jihadis' as "one of the arms of diplomacy" and due to this reason, it is not taking any action except "tokenism" against JuD despite the UNSC ban imposed on December 11 in the wake of November 26 Mumbai attacks.

'God' (i.e. Allah) & Rasool are one & the same. LeT, er,JuD, er TeHeR are unwittingly (or maybe even wittingly) letting this cat out of the bag.

That said, Indian media has fallen for this hook, line and sinker. Yesterday, in a news program summing up 2008, they showed the taquiyya pronouncements of Mohammedan leaders from Dar ul Uloom to the refusal to bury the Jihadis in Mumbai gravesites to statements from the Bollywood Khans (ShahRukh & Salman), where the former stated that these Jihadis aren't reading the Qur'an right to the latter stating that the Wahabi influence needs to be challenged. (For the latter, a fatwa had been issued against his father for celebrating Ganesh chaturthi, a local Hindu festival in Mumbai).

Guess we'll just have to wait for the next attack.

.....................

And so now they're calling themselves 'Tehreek-e-Hurmat-e-Rasool'--but of course for the Mumbai attacks they used the name "Deccan Mujahideen", uh, unless that was a dodge.

And what about the "Salafi Group for Prayer and Combat", itself an offshoot of the Armed Islamic Group (GIA), which is now calling itself "Al-Qaeda in the Maghreb"?

And Hamas was founded by cells of the Muslim Brotherhood, but is funded in part by Iran and Saudi Arabia, but everybody knows that Sunnis and Shias don't work together, except when they do.

And, uh, American Somalis are fighting in Somalia, but, uh, Bosnians are winding up in Afghanistan, and Iranians are being urged to sign up for suicide bombings in Gaza...

Yes--it is important to track the links between these groups, as an intelligence and law enforcement issue. But beyond a point, it is not useful. Like the American obsession with whether an attack has Al-Qaeda links or not, it is not that meaningful. These ever-shifting groups have one main thing in common, whatever the short-term object of their violence.

I say Jihad, and I say to Hell with it!

I think that it is well time for the international community to take a stand, ad ban all islamic organisations on the basis that they are proselysing dawa in non muslim lands
tit for tat, they are part of the jihad against all non muslims
Ban islamic migration now
I ask the rhetorical question, since our australian govt banned firearms we the people are sitting ducks for islamists and jihadis to kill indiscriminately, the criminals never gave their guns in, so how do we aussies find a legal loophole to own our own guns to defend ourselves against muhammedans...its just amatter of time before malaysia and indonesia decide to invade our unarmed civilian population after all, nothing is able to stop them now noone has guns
