Comments by David G. Littman, historian, whose last article can be found here:
After Andrew Bostom’s very comprehensive article on Hamas, in which I find myself praised and nicely portrayed in the excellent company of the true Wizard of Jihad Watch here, I wish to add a foreword and a postscript on the Hamas syndrome. Churchill’s words nearly 70 years ago, in a moment of great crisis for Great Britain and Europe, will serve to illustrate the situation today, where it is Israel, its leaders and people who stand for us all against tyranny. In autumn 1988, while in Jerusalem on a visit, I went round to the information office of the foreign ministry and noticed a new booklet of 60 pages entitled: The Covenant of the Islamic Resistance Movement: 18 August 1988 (Arabic & English translation).
I immediately realised its ‘originality’ and asked whether it would be made available by Israel’s delegation at the forthcoming Geneva UN Commission on Human Rights. I was informed that it did not have the Israel Foreign Ministry stamp and it had been decided not to circulate it, as this might be seen as provocative because its genocidal text had many quotations from the Koran. I asked whether I could have ‘some’ copies and soon received about 150 copies from a pile expected to be pulped. I was thus able, a few months later at the UNCHR, to put this text in the hands of about 100 key UN and State delegates, even the PLO’s Ramlawi, who asked for it – and many NGOs.
On January 31, 1989 at the 45th session of the Commission, under item 4 (Question of the violation of human rights in the occupied Arab territories, including Palestine), I was given the floor for ten minutes (today Observer States and NGOs have three).
After an analysis of the situation, I quoted Arafat’s appeal to Israeli leaders in his speech at the UN General Assembly on December 13, 1988: “Come let us make peace. Cast away fear and intimidation” – as well as the proposal of the Christian Mayor of Bethlehem for a conditional one-year UN-sponsored truce, to allow “a calming period to ease the tension, so people could begin to think and behave normally.” Arafat did not beat about the bush: “Whoever thinks of stopping the intifada before it achieves its goals, I will give him ten bullets in the chest.” (IHT, January 20, 1989). The next day Mayor Elias Freij capitulated, humbly retracting his Christmas truce proposal aimed at facilitating peace negotiation. I then spoke of the Hamas Charter:
One might usefully consult a recent jihad-inspired publication, the 20-page Covenant of the militant Islamic Resistance Movement (HAMAS), operating mainly in Gaza – but also in the West Bank – in collaboration with PLO groups. Dated 18 August 1988, it is a blatant blueprint for genocide, undoubtedly inspired by its spiritual leader, Sheikh Ahmed Yassin. I have with me a copy of the Arabic text and an English translation. Its aims are clearly defined in article 8, under the Slogan: “Allah is its target, the Prophet its model, the Koran its constitution; Jihad is its path, and death for the sake of Allah is the loftiest of its wishes.” Article 13 declares: “There is no solution for the Palestinian question except through Jihad.” And article 28 does not beat about the bush: “Israel, Judaism and Jews challenge the Muslim people: “May the cowards never sleep.” These realities cannot be brushed aside simply because they are embarrassing, but should rather serve as a serious warning to the gullible for whom an appeasement, misguided, “peace in our time”, will-o’-the-wisp remain a constant obsession. What is urgently needed is a frank, conscious consensus of trust and confidence, without which there can be neither peace nor reconciliation.I repeated these words at the subsequent Sub-Commission on Human Rights on August 18, 1989, and have continued to do so at almost every UN Commission (the Council since 2006), via all the NGOs I have represented – from 1997 for the Association for World Education, and from 2001 (again) for the WUPJ. This has had no effect whatsoever and no UN body has ever bothered to examine or condemn the clear, genocidal Charter of Hamas, which quotes the Koran frequently, as well as that obscene forgery, The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion.

Israel’s ground forces have moved into Gaza to stop the ongoing Jihad war, as defined by Hamas in its ‘slogan’ article 8 above, an exact copy from the foundation slogan of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood, founded by Hassan al-Banna in 1928, who became a devout admirer of Adolf Hitler and the Nazi regime (he is quoted in the preamble to the Hamas Charter as saying “Israel will exist and continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it.”). Israel’s government would do well to meditate the concluding words by Winston Churchill’s first speech nearly 70 years ago in the House of Commons as prime minster (May 13, 1940), and draw the logical conclusion at this epic moment for Israel – and for the world.
I would say to the House, as I have said to those who have joined this Government: “I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat.” (…) You ask, what is our policy? I will say: It is to wage war, by sea, land, and air, with all our might and with all the strength that God can give us; to wage war against a monstrous tyranny, never surpassed in the dark, lamentable catalogue of human crime. That is our policy. You ask, what is our aim? I can answer in a word: It is victory, victory at all costs, victory in spite of all terror, victory, however long and hard the road may be; for without victory there is no survival (…) At this time I feel entitled to claim the aid of all, and I say, “Come then, let us go forward together with our united strength.”

It is time for democratic societies worldwide to stand firmly behind Israel at this moment of truth for the future of all who recognise that “the inherent dignity and of the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family [which] is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world” – as expressed in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Jihad till Kingdom Come should not be the sworn rule of law for any part of humanity!
How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property - either as a child, a wife, or a concubine - must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.
- Winston Churchill
It is ironic, isn't it?
Churchill's rhetoric, which stirred the passion and courage of the British, is now in the hearts of the Muslim-British jihadists. Now, it is the non-Muslim British who are in trouble, and facing a mighty wrath of righteous, albeit evil, fury.
Since there isn't a Churchill-type in the House of Commons pipeline, who will lead the fight? Sadly, they might just go quietly into a very dark night from which they will never see the light again.
Chirchill's words should be resonating within every person in the civilized world, not just the West. Unfortunately, we are not waging an ideological war. In fact, our political, cultural and intellectual elite are doing their damnedest to ensure it remains that way.
From article: Jihad till Kingdom Come should not be the sworn rule of law for any part of humanity!
But unfortunately it is...
Exactly my point about Q 8:39/others that say 'Fight them until...' Or some variation...
'Until' has not been achieved...all do not worship Allah in all the world, so the jihad has no choice but to continue...Allah willing ...and he always is...
David Littman is a hero. Bless him.
I am pretty sure that Sir Winston Churchill has been rolling around in his grave now for a long time by the sight of the Western politicians squandering the freedoms brave men have fought and died for 'en mass' all those decades ago...
We should stand up and fight for what is right.
It is unbelievable that the Western politicians believe that the barbaric laws of the sharia are equal to our laws. That the rights of people under sharia, or better said, the lack thereof, are equal to the rights we have in the 'free' world. It is unbelievable that people who don nót believe that those barbaric practises of the sharia are equal to ours, but that ours are fár superior, are branded as hate mongerors, bigots, racists, fascists, xenophobes and worse...
I read letters sent in to newspapers in the Netherlands saying that if Israel would be in Scandinavia, there would be no problem with terrorism anymore and that Israel is the aggressor against those poor little 'palastinians'. And I just can not believe my eyes. But it is not a surprise, because our media are on their knees before political correctness and are dying to be in the good books of the islamic terrorists. And die they shall if they keep up their dhimmitude and slavery under islamic law will be ours.

To support Israel at this critical moment in time, one need not agree with Israels every decision. Any rational person familiar with the fundamental conflict knows beyond doubt that HAMAS have become psychopathic killers committed to the utter destruction of Israel.
Islams products of stunted development are now putting in jeopardy global survival - Regardless of their nationality or party affiliation, Islamists are criminal enemies of the human race.
That was excellent.
BTW - Guess who is too good for the Universal Declaration on Human Rights?
From Wikipedia:
"On 30 June 2000, Muslim nations that are members of the Organization of the Islamic Conference officially resolved to support the Cairo Declaration on Human Rights in Islam, an alternative document that says people have "freedom and right to a dignified life in accordance with the Islamic Shari’ah".
"
"The CDHRI has been criticized for falling short of international human rights standards by not upholding the fundamentality of equality of rights for all.
Whereas the Universal declaration states
'Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration, without distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status.'
CDHRI does not guarantee equal rights, but merely equal dignity:
'All men are equal in terms of basic human dignity and basic obligations and responsibilities, without any discrimination on the basis of race, colour, language, belief, sex, religion, political affiliation, social status or other considerations.'
In particular, CDHRI has been criticised for failing to guarantee freedom of religion."

If a nation or group is unwilling to sign a document like the Universal Declaration of Human Rights - what more needs to be said?
History not heeded will repeat itself. We have been lax in remembering Sir Winston's words and the sacrifices made in the name of freedom.
All people who hate intolerance and oppresion should come together to stop or at least slow this spread of disease known as Islam. They rival even Hitler and Stalin of genocide and murder. And they do so in the false name of religion and peace.
All should applaud Mr. Littman and those at sites like Jihad Watch for bringing the lies of Islam into the light of real truth.
S.Perry, I agree about David Littman. Could be he'll get an Anti-Dhimmi Award yet.
But we owe him so much more.
According to Carolyn Glick,
"...The Olmert-Livni-Barak government now leading Israel in its war against Hamas is no different from the Olmert-Livni-Peretz government that led Israel in the 2006 war against Hizbullah. Our leaders have learned nothing from their prior failure. Indeed they are reenacting it in Gaza today.
The only thing the public can hope for, and indeed demand at this stage, is for Olmert, Livni and Barak to forego any ground operation in Gaza. There is no reason for our soldiers to place their lives in jeopardy in a campaign that the government that has already decided to lose. ..."

Written before the ground attack. Apparently it was all a political publicity stunt for Livni in the upcoming Israeli election. Pitiful.
Israel is the West's first line of defense againsts Islamo-fascism. The first line is led by midgets. How did that ever happen?
I think we really need to forget continually quoting Churchill.
The UK that was epitomised in the words and character of Churchill is long gone. Churchill's opposition at the time, those who wanted to initiate peace with Hitler were more Conservative and British than the conservatives of today(possibly the next government to come in in two years time).
Churchill was a great man, a great man indeed. However look at the UK then and now compare it? In those days people were Nationalists. They loved their country as most of the fathers/grandfathers had fought in the Great War and very possibly the first and second Boer Wars. The people of the UK were not part of Europe then. Their allegiance was to their King and Country. The thought of treason never entered their minds. Immigration was minimal. The Muslim population was almost negative in the UK as was any other foreign culture(apart from Judaism). There were no West Indian or African neighbourhoods.
From reading JW, as much as I love it, there almost seems to be a fairytale look to Britain from our brothers across the pond. This couldn't be farther from the truth. Scotland is not like Brigadoon and London is not like it was as portrayed in Mary Poppins or My Fair Lady. The cockney accent is practically non existent. The new dialect is Jafaican - innit?
We need to stop quoting Churchill because the left have successfully managed to destroy him within our society. It was not long ago in the May Day riots when a former soldier defaced the statue of Churchill. Churchill means alot to the elderly and those still with British pride, but ask a youth in the UK today who Churchill was and he'd say the dog in the TV advert for car insurance.
We need new heroes now to help us stop Islamisation. We cannot quote the older ones as I said they mean nothing to many people in the UK and instead are looked upon as murderers and war criminals who sent soldiers to their deaths while they stayed in their comfort at home in the UK.
The UK really is a different place, even to 20 years ago. As I've said many times, socialism thanks to communist infiltration has managed to completely change the ideology of what Britain was. Thanks to Gramscian hegemony communists have managed to attain major positions in our establishments to completely change the face of UK education. We have minority/immigration/asylum seeker control of the UK, implementing their cultures as superior ones over our very own, even though these cultures can't even survive in their own countries for being exceptionally inferior ones.
This is a negative post because the UK is a negative place and yes, we have ourselves to blame to have not done anything to change it. I will be voting for a Nationalist party to do my part but other than that there really is nothing I can do, to warn the UK on Islam. Remember America, you don't have the Incitement to Religious Hatred Laws we have and any speaking publicly on the danger of Islam in the UK may very well end up with arrest and imprisonment.
Britain is dying miserably, but I truly believe that for people to actually see what the real issue is, it has to get far far worse, even allowing Islamisation to wake up the ignorant and Islamic appeasers and to see just what they really are supporting and protecting.
S. Perry -- did you recently have a letter in the Letters section of SMH or Australian recently? If so, we almost share a suburb. We'd love to connect with you...
discreetly,
Winston Churchill on Islam:
“How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live…The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Individual Muslims may show splendid qualities…but the influence of the religion paralyzes the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa…and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome.”
