Fox ran a special program that some of you may have seen recently entitled, "Escape from Hamas", about the son of a Hamas founder who left Islam and converted to Christianity; he was himself a Hamas youth leader who was caught and imprisoned.

The son actually saw other Hamas militants within this same prison torture their OWN while in prison. Witnessing that torture was a major turning point for this young man, and one of the many reasons why he left Islam and then later became a Christian.

Now, we are all witnessing how evil Hamas and Islam truly are. This is not happening in prison, this is occuring out in the open for the world to see. This is beyond sick.

When will the world start denouncing this fascist and totalitarian ideology that is Islam?

I presume that added to the "civilian casualties" list being so persistently exaggerated by Hamas, they will also include all those who died because they were executed by Hamas as it takes the occasion, yet again, to settle scores with Fatah and all those who otherwise oppose it, and calling all such people "collaborators with Israel" is the way to go. And in addition, one can be sure that in the tally Hamas (so ably aided and abetted by the likes of Dr. Mads Gilbert), will add as well all those who simply, in a population of 1.4 million in a third-world country, normally die of natural causes, accidents, and so forth, that is causes having nothing to do with Israel's attacks on Hamas in Gaza). Perhaps those who deal with such population statistics can tell us how many such people there might be, so that can be deducted from whatever total Dr. Mads Gilbert and others choose to spread around the world in their malevolent and tendentious manner.

If anyone is looking for a site to put opposing views, you could do worse than visit the appalling www.socialistunity.com/ where assorted members of Far Left and radical Islam organisations happily stick the boot into Israel. You do get the occasional poster who calls them on their stupidity, but more would be welcome.

It pays to understand the enemy. Look at summary executions from the point of view of HAMAS: It's a great morale booster in that they and there supporters can now see their defeats on the battlefield are the responsibility of traitors and spies for the enemy, i.e. Israel; that even locals or natives are not above the law of the rest, i.e. no favoritism; that blood is spilled for blood, even if it can't be Israeli; that HAMAS is god-like in their ability to find and execute those who transgress; and cetera. Nor does it matter at all if the fellows killed are guilty of anything at all, the point being a show of strength in HAMAS.

No, we don't want to be like the terrorists. We do have to at least understand what they think and why so. We lose in thinking the terrorists are simply evil versions of suburbanite Americans. We have to grasp the logic of what they do and why it makes good sense to them. Then we can act like rational people in response to them in their alter-rationality.

Sounds like the Gaza may be about ready for a Viet Nam style Phoenix Program. My understanding is that their are "clans" within the Gaza that are not exactly fans of HAMAS and that chafe from their economic and political dominance.

On another note, I am currently reading "Comanches: The History of a People" by T.R. Fehrenbach (1974). His history of the Comanches contains many descriptions that could be easily surmised to be about our Muslim brothers and sisters in the present time.

My two favorite excerpts today (both p. 359):

This shows the values and beliefs that Hamas has towards human life, but also shows how many of the Palestinians just accept that kind of behavior and are in support of Hamas and their Islamic values, otherwise those six Palestinians would not have been killed in the first place whether they supported Israel or not. That is why we must support Israel, because Israel is one of our closest allies that we have and having similar values, not to mention that they know how to fight the Islamics and must face with that threat everyday, from the Islamic Terrorists to the Arab Nations that surrounds them.
