Magen David Adom medics who raced to the scene said they treated a number of people who suffered from severe emotional trauma. Eyewitnesses described the explosion as "unusually loud."
At about 3:00 p.m., a short-range Kassam rocket exploded in the Eshkol region as well. No one was injured and no damage was reported.

They reported that rockets are falling in Ashdod so victorious Hamas is "in control of southern Israel". They say that Hamas is punishing the Zionist aggressors in Gaza.

But at a pro-Israel rally in Melbourne, on a bright sunny day, two of our Federal politicians turned up and made speeches: Labor Federal MP Michael Danby (who represents a parliamentary seat in Melbourne) and Liberal Federal Senator, Mitchell ('Mitch') Fifield, who represents Victoria in the Senate.
The rally was organised by an interesting combination of forces: the Australian Liberal Students Federation, and the Zionist Council of Victoria.
Some hundreds of people attended.
(Terms translated for the benefit of Americans: 'Labor' in Australia originated with the trade union movement in the 1880s and is traditionally a 'left of centre' party; 'Liberal' in Australia is seen as the businessmen's party and is traditionally 'right' of centre.)
Now: in the USA and in some other countries there have been much bigger pro-Israel rallies. What has the politician turnout been like, there?

Some nut at the UN keeps saying that Israel's response is not "proportionate". I agree with ZenaWarriorPrincess. If it were proportionate, Israel would totally wipe out all of Hamas and their constituents. That would eliminate most of the people in Gaza.

30 killed in blast at UN school in Gaza
