Islamic group at UN demands permanent Security Council seat for Islamic states

To protect the Islamic world's interests -- as if the UN weren't supine enough already. A broken-English report from United News Network India, January 2: "'Observer Islamic Countries' demanded UN Security Council seat":

Brussels (UNN) Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip represent severe and massive violations of international humanitarian law and Geneva convention,"Observer Islamic Countries" Faisal Muhammed's spokesman said.

He urged the international community to move swiftly to provide protection for Palestinian civilians from Israeli army attacks which increasingly target innocent civilians.

Criticizing some head of Muslim stats, spokesman urged Muslim countries to exert diplomatic pressure on UN to pressurize the Zionist regime to observe all United Nations resolutions and stop killing innocent civilians.

According demand of "Observer Islamic Countries" He urged Muslim States start efforts to get pemanent seat in Sucurity Council to protect Muslim world's intrest.

Failing that all Muslims countries reconsider theair relations from UNO, he suggested./UNN

Good idea, that last one.

"...Failing that all Muslims countries reconsider theair relations from UNO..."

Makes sense to me, but there are plenty of Jew hating States that will continue to do the bidding of the Islamic theocracies and their efforts to extinguish Israel.

to pressurize the Zionist regime

Air may be flowing even though the OIC windbag is not inflated...

Ah yes,

So this will be the case that "We[the Muslims] are unable to defeat Israel on our own and demand that the West helps us in eradicating the Jews".

What a pathetic bunch they are. What a pathetic bunch of losers are Islam. I am intrigued how the UN will react. A seat on the council? Are they mad?

It is hard to think of an organization that has been more thoroughly infiltrated, and taken over, by Muslims at every level, and by such willing collaborators as Edward Mortimer, former Chief Speech Writer and Senior Adviser, as he billed himself, to Kofi Annan, and for all I know, perhaps he's still senior-advising and chief-speech-writing for that Innocent Abroad, especially when it comes to Muslim matters, Ban-Ki Moon.

From the actual staffing of the U.N. secretariat, to the Islamic bloc, the last bloc left now that the Soviet bloc has dissolved, and what should be the bloc of enlightened democracies has lost its way (not least because of the effect of the anti-Israel atmosphere in which the U.N. is suffused, and the atmosphere of apologetics for Islam with which it is also suffused, and then of course there are those Western countries whose elites are terrified of offending the aggresive and dangerous Muslims now living in their very midst, and about which they have not a clue as to what to do), Islam, or the O.I.C., practically calls the tune.

Why, almost half the time of the U.N. and its succursales, such as that comic organization supposedly devoted to Human Rights in Geneva, that one whose deliberations are sometimes interrupted by the voices of steady sanity of David Littman and Roy Brown, and a few others like them, is dedicated to the proposition that Mighty Israel, the vast Empire of Israel, is the single most important topic, and of course threat, in the world today. And the Muslim delegates have so intimidated all the others, with their aggression and their sheer craziness, that even the most intelligent representatives of Western Europe shrink from confrontation with the primitive representatives of primitive peoples, made primitive, it must be said, by Islam itself.

And on the East River, it is the usual inmates of bedlam, trying to outdo one another in paying obiesance to Muslim countries, which had they no oil, would have nothing, and had they not had, more than a millennium ago, a certain number of Christians and Jews and Zoroastrians in their recently-conquered lands, would surely not even been able to claim what little they can claim, as "Islam's contributions to civilization." An ideology that is all-encompassing, that encourages the habit of mental submission, that restricts so severely the varieties of artistic expression, that discourages in every way the spirit of critical inquiry, that mistreats women and, most important of all, mistreats all non-Muslims but insists on loyalty only to Islam and to fellow members of the Umma -- it is the adherents of this who dare now to demand even more. The U.N. is now perilously in the position of the League of Nations. The League of Nations, or as the French call it, La Societe des Nations (and society it was, with lots of sociallizing) could do nothing about Fascism and Nazism. And even though the odd American veto can prevent the most egregious and absurd of resolutions, passed by the Yesterday's Men who are the current diplomats, at the U.N., from so many of the now-threatened Infidel lands, the U.N. remains a corrupt and corrupting institution. Fortunately, just in time, the Muslims have overplayed their hand, with too many attacks in too many places, and the spectacle of violent mobs of keffiyehed Muslims in European cities have impressed upon Europeans the notion that these Muslims in their midst, and their local fellow travellers, are a menace that will not go away. That realization is dawning, helped along not so much by what non-Muslims have done or said, but in the main by what Muslims have done and said. And they will continue, in their violence and aggression and impossible demands, to alert the non-Infidel world which, slowly, as if out of a deep sleep is shaking its locks, and coming awake.

"Failing that all Muslims countries reconsider theair relations from UNO, he suggested."

Wow. If we could get them to do that, the UN might find it's balls.

Right after Russia gets thrown out, of course...

they already have the UN what more could they want.. sarc/off
well for one thing they could call back all their people from infidel lands, and live off their rich brothers the sowdis.

It would seem that the habit of mental submission is contagious and has certainly infected many non-Muslims. The Madoff case shows how incredibly credulous and mentally lazy people can be when it comes to checking into important things.
Imagine, here were allegedly intelligent elites entrusting their own fortunes to a charlatan, and they and their agents, who were supposed to be doing due diligence, were asleep.
Do you really think it's any different when it comes to Islam? Very few people make the effort to dig. And what's at stake is a lot more important than money.

I think we need a seat from the Middle East, from Latin America, and from the Indian Subcontinent. I say this as somebody who is very unsympathetic to just about every Middle Eastern government. We should temper that by instituting a requirement that whatever states be given admission must be wholly secular. That means that the USA and the UK will also have to make some reforms...Your country is hopeless when its population thinks better of the Sauds -- rich-bitch nobles who don't even let women join bands and perform privately -- than it does of Hugo Chavez.

A quick check of Security council membership reveals that Islamic countries have been represented on the Council every year since the U.N.'s founding with at least one seat, and sometimes as many as three seats. Three members out of fifteen is 20%, which is closely proportionate to Islam's share of the world's population. The current members are Burkina Faso, Libya, and Turkey.
If the Islamic world did get a permanent seat, which country would get it? Indonesia is the largest Islamic country, so I guess they's have the strongest claim. But I can't imagine that would be acceptable to Pakistan, Iran, Saudi Arabia, or Egypt.

I predict the UN moving to Iraq in the next few yeears.

Let's just give them the U.N. and move it to an islamic paradise. The U.N. is a farcical behemoth, a bottomless pit that sucks up billions of dollars and does nothing to improve the world or the lives of its inhabitants. It exists to weaken and eventually destroy the U.S. and to enrich and empower the corrupt vermin that infest every nook and cranny of its rotten edifice. Let the muslim savages have the whole decayed corpse; they can cut off its head and dance in the streets.

The name "United Nations" is an oxymoron, a misnomer, or a blatant lie because nothing about it is or ever has been "united". The reams of rules the pompous bureaucrats write and try to impose on the citizens of the world do not apply to the muslim world, which ignore them because they are unislamic or detrimental to islamic tyrants. The muslims want to dictate what the rest of the world can say about their vile, barbaric religion but when do any of the islamic nations make compromises or reciprocate in any way for the concessions they demand and get?

The U.N. is evil to its core, another of those institutions too big to fail and one that should have been dismantled long before it became a belligerent and intimidating leviathan run by supremacist muslims and emasculated, self-hating Western leftists.

The answer is simple...one offered by myself and many others here over the years:

Start a new international agency in which the criteria for membership is free elections, free media, free unions and an independent judiciary. Without withdrawing from the UN, we can - over time - invest the new agency with increasing responsibilities...all the while diminishing our contributions to, and solicitations of, the UN.

Political realities preclude a dramatic and immediate repudiation of the UN; logic dictates we establish a parallel organization that excludes non-democratic countries...one that will eventually supplant the UN, but that leaves our enemies outside the fold...with a pronounced incentive to reform.

The USA can give them its seat. We Canadians and Americans should pull out of the UN and let it die from underfunding. What a useless and malignant organization.

The UN is nothing but a bunch dhimmi cowards that are afraid of their own shadows less they insult islam and the islamic countries that is doing just what we expect from islam... DEMANDING a permanent seat on the secirity council. Again, islam expecting everyone else to cowtow to them and change to the perversion of islam. The U.S. should pull out of the UN for good. Spineless and with no huevos. You can bet that BHO will continue this dangerous support of the UN and Hilary Clinton will be right in the middle. Lap dog to the islamofacists that have given millions and millions to her loser husband, and hence to her.

Hugh has said it well: "primitive representatives of primitive peoples, made primitive, it must be said by, Islam itself." The world needs more David Littman's, needs more of us, who here realize the dangers of islam and islamofacism. There is no co-existance with islam and one only has to look back at history to see the truth and horrors that threantens to enshackle the free world!

Ya great.....Give a UN seat to Iran , Pakistan , S Korea..and Saudi Arabia...Then world be better....Bul.sht.... As an Indian I am ashamed at the official India govt stattement criticising Israel....Whats Israel supposed to when rained with rockets....sit with hands closed just like india did after 26/11 mumbai attacks....I am really ashamed that instead of taking Cue from Israel ..Indian Govt is criticising....although I know that common Indian man feels Israel is justified fighting a lone battle against a monstrous Middle East Islamic dragon..and of course I am not counting the Islamic indians in that count....

If these Islamic states are so committed and sympatheic to Palestinian cause and feel sorry for them why dont they give them all citizenship in their countries...If equally divided these countries will not feel pinch and each country can take 10% of refugees and all Palestininans will have a home ....and ME problem solved for good...NO but they wont do it...cos....then what about violence their religion feeds on that intoxication ..where will they find a reason to get that.?...These ME countries dont want solution...they want violence and Israel is one reason....If Israel was not existing they would find a new reason for violence.

Invoking the Geneva Conventions? Isn't IRAN the only OIC nation to have ever signed onto it, in one of the grander acts of taqiyya ever recorded? Muslim narcissism never ceases to amaze me.

Uh, Commieatheist, demanding that nations be wholly secular is a bad idea. For one, Israel has state religion. It's never enforced, but that's what it is. Second, Italy has state religion, and Italy will - I predict, anyway - be the European trailblazer when it comes to reining in Islam. Plus, that just makes life difficult for nations which are up-and-coming or just having a rough time, like Portugal or Northern Ireland, the Euro nations where Muslims don't settle in droves.

No, here's what needs to happen: no nation should be recognized which does not hold regular, free elections (real elections, not Mubarak/Saddam Hussein-type elections with one political party, backed by the military, on the ballot) and uphold the UDHR to the letter. Religion has nothing to do with it. Islam's pseudo-religious aspects are not the problem. It's Islam's political aspects which are the problem, and the governments of those countries which should be shunned. The UN is a political organization. Don't punish Christians and Jews because a fascist death-cult masquerades as a religion. We can still trade with China.

The UN rivals the Ikhwan in terms of its non-Muslim-killing capacity. It has largely financed the jihad on the South Sudanese, and don't even get me started on how much it's given to Hamas, Hezbollah, and Fatah in various ways. The UN is a jihad machine. That it's located in NYC, the home of the largest jihad attack in history, is absolutely Orwellian.

Cornelius, I disagree that we should stay. If the US pulled out of the UN it would lose all power and funding. It would be nothing more than a meaningless husk. Nations should have to be held to standards of decency in order to be recognized. As things stand there's no incentive to not be KSA or Iran. Whose insane idea was it to give Bosnia and Cuba as much say in international relations as the US, Australia, and India anyway? Because it worked so well the first time.

And our great Western leaders remain mum. And our media pretends no demands were made.

Running on Empty somebody?

I second Ravi Trivedi. It has not been reported on JW yet, but India was one of the several nations that criticized Israel. I (and a majority of right thinking Indians) would have appreciated it if the Govt. had, at the very least, kept mum. (since outright support to Israel would have 'punctured the muslim vote-bank' - yeah, we understand that there are slimy political compulsions)

India needs to radically change its policies and position w.r.t. Palestine. I appreciate Israel for its responses to terror attacks. Seriously, what is the bloody use of having the '2nd largest army, 4th largest air force and 7th largest navy in the world', if India does not act even after supreme provocation and clinching evidence of the 'perpetrators', time and again, over several decades?

The United Nations:
A bunch of cannibals and a couple of missionaries voting on what's for dinner.

A United Democratic Nations should be formed instead.

Islam is an influence at the UN because of Islamic member nations, but to give a religion(?) a seat on the council is recognizing Islam as a nation, represented by an Islamic state, but not that Islamic state.

This means the Quran and Sharia must be considered in all council doings. Wherever the UN policies and Sharia conflict Sharia wins...

The UN is imploding by brain drain...Might as well shut it down, label it useless, and haul it off to the dump...

yes,Its very right way ,this would be an important step, this step must taken by 'organization islamic confrence' BUT this organization is playing with muslims.........
the 'Observer islamic countries' is only international private organization who is working
diplomaticaly and politicaly.Faisal Muhammd and Muhatir were a great scholar of MUSLIM WORLD.
''Observer Islamic Countries'' provided an way for muslim leaders ,wait and see ,what they done.

M

What the hell was that?

Btw, "Fatima," your nick starts with "F," not "M." Were you signing off as "Monkey?" Because you clearly think and write like one. Go bandage your knuckles, which are bloody from dragging around on the ground all day.

The OIC will be the undoing of the UN, but then again, Islam always renders everything it touches worthless and destroys it.

JDAMN: "If the US pulled out of the UN,it would lose allpower and funding."

RESPONSE: Not altogether true. From my best recollection, the US funds 25% of the UN's budget. Were we to walk away, they could certainly carry on, albeit with reduced effectiveness (if that were possible).

And if we were to walk away today, the Israelis would surely regret it. The US veto on the Security Council is the only thing preventing Israel from being slapped with sanctions and being completely isolated.

The lessons of history are clear: the Soviet boycott of the Security Council in 1950 -universally recognized as a huge, tactical blunder - paved the way for a UN military response to North Korea's invasion of the South.

The UN is a disaster, and we should indeed walk away, but not until the moment is propitious. Let's not over-exaggerate America's importance to the world, particularly in an age when we are the world's biggest debtor nation, completetly dependent on foreign powers (namely China and Saudi Arabia) to finance our irresponsible and ever-increasing defecit spending.

Even for those who believe that leaving the UN immediately is the right thing to do, we're dealing with reality here. It just ain't gonna happen.

What we CAN do is to begin the process of creating a new multinational forum, one whose membership is based on DEMOCRATIC criteria....that will eventually supplant the UN when that organization has lost the last vestige of its already laughable credibility. If this 'Global Alliance of Democratic States' (or whatever it is to be called) is an exclusive club, with membership perks including economic incentives such as free-trade status, it will serve as an impetus for reform around the world.

Or does that make too much sense?

You make a very good case. I was thinking about principles. You're being pragmatic. I would prefer to get out of that nuthouse sooner than later, though.
