A Katyusha barrage was fired Thursday at the Nahariya area in the Western Galilee. Police reported that two people were lightly wounded and evacuated to the local hospital. Five other residents were treated for shock.Police sappers received reports of at least two rocket hits: One rocket directly hit a nursing home in Nahariya and the other landed in the town's vicinity.
The IDF Spokesman in the GOC Northern Command said Thursday that "the rocket fire on the Western Galilee was carried out by Palestinian elements in Lebanon, wishing to drag Israel into war.
"Israel holds the Lebanese government and its army responsible for thwarting any fire on Israel."...
If it is an isolated incident only, that is one thing. However, if this is a prelude to opening another front by Hizbollah or others, that is an entirely different thing.
Time will tell on this, but Israel needs to set down some conditions for any would-be second front, in words that any would be aggressor would clearly understand. Israel cannot lose this fight or much worse is to come very soon.
Surprised these attacks have not happened sooner.

Yes--that is the biggest danger here. And despite Israel's efforts two years ago in Lebanon, Hizb'allah is stronger there than ever.
Also--those Katyushas--I'm no expert on rockets, but my understanding is that they are both more powerful and more sophisticated than the Qassam rockets that Hamas habitually fires into Israel--they are also longer range. If Hizb'allah--or some other Jihad terrorist group in Lebanon--is able to fire not one, but a *barrage* of Kaytushas into northern Israel, then this is very serious indeed.
Will the "international community"--so vocal about any danger, no matter how inadvertent, to Gazan civilians, condemn this rocket attack on an Israeli *nursing home*? I wouldn't hold my breath.
Meanwhile, Iran continues its nuclear weapon building, sorry, its peaceful nuclear program, while the world is overly distracted with Israel.

Actually, the attacks were suppposed to happen sooner. Last month the Lebanese army found 7 rockets in Lebanon with timers on them aimed at Israel:
"Two senior officers said that the rockets' timers were activated, and one of the officers said the rockets were to have been fired overnight Thursday."

These rockets were found on Dec. 25, 2 days BEFORE Israel started bombing Gaza. Isn't that weird?!? What a coincidence that Hezbollah was about to fire rockets into Israel just 2 days before Israel starting bombing Gaza. No matter, the rockets arrived today instead, and now poor Israel has their excuse to start bombing Lebanon as well. Life is full of coincidences, isn't it.

What is your explanation for the article I linked to? Hezbollah was going to start an unprovoked war with Israel, coincidentally just 2 days before Israel decided to bomb Gaza? But Hezbollah only has 7 rockets, so after the Lebanese army found them, Hezbollah's war plan fell through, and they had no more rockets that they could fire? Also, Hezbollah decided that to simply fire the rockets would be too easy, and that it would be better to put timers of them instead, just to increase the chances of something going wrong, like having someone find them? Hezbollah likes to have that element of suspense, and they are too stupid to simply fire the rockets when they want to start a war.
Is that the non-conspiratorial, "acceptable" version of what hapenned?

He concluded, as a professional sociologist and anatomist of propaganda, that the Israelis were hopeless at propaganda, that they weren't even trying to do it; whereas it was the 'Palestinians' who were the spinmeisters extraordinaire. And, therefore, he chose to back Israel. I choose with him.
I am more inclined to believe the Israelis, who come from a culture of truth, than I am to believe anything told to me by a Muslim (product of a culture of falsehood and deception and ambush).
