The full weight of the state should be brought down on them, and without half-measures, in a way that the forces of order in Western Europe have until now not been able to do, have almost forgotten how to do. And the draft should be re-instituted so that young males in Western Europe will be prepared, when the time comes, to defend their own societies from those who, from within, would like to bring the whole edifice, or what's left of it, down.
As for the Muslims, deport as many as can be deported, strip from citizenship all those who cannot or will not take oaths of loyalty to the Infidel nation-state and, what's more, show no signs later on of having perjured themselves when they took those oaths. Reduce benefits in the American manner, requiring work to be given in exchange for the receipt of what until now has been taken for granted. Change the entire attitude of the state toward such people in order to bring the threat down to more manageable proportions.
Call it all a response, that began with the Oslo Disaccords of 2009. And let the great majority of people in the countries of Western Europe, the people who do things, the people who lead regular lives and supply through their taxes the wherewithal that supports this kind of rabble or racaille (as Sarkozy famously says), the very people who for the last several decades have endured the immigration madness of those who, among the country's political and media elites, so oblivious to Islam's texts and tenets and attitudes, permitted so many Muslims to settle deep within the countries of Europe, behind what Muslims themselves are taught to regard as enemy lines, should begin to see things aright, topple those Idols of the Age that have had enough useless incense burned before them, and take back, not the night, but their own countries, their own imperilled civilization that they inherited, and now will have to work, and even fight, to preserve.

Hugh, I wonder about the wisdom of the above. Universal service laws may train the body, but can they fill the intellectual and moral void that is left by socialist state indoctrination? Do we really want "yoots" with infantry skills but no sense of personal responsibility or national identity?

I have my doubts about that "socialist state indoctrination" business. To my mind the threats are not from the state, but from private, but widespread, often greed-prompted, idiocy. Certainly the breakdown of American (and other Western) education does not help. If done right, and I am not saying this is always and everywhere done right, for clearly it is not, some training in a military setting can give people a "sense of personal responsibility" and a sense of "national identity" or, at the very least, supplement other efforts, efforts to be encouraged by intelligent leaders and by those outside of government who recognize the problem.

Somehow I can't feel sorry for Oslo, or for that matter, Paris, London, or any other society besieged by these creatures. They don't have to live with this, and they certainly don't have to continue importing Muslims into their countries.
If a politician, like Kurt Wilder, speaks up and demands that something be done about it, he gets labeled a racist or neo-Nazi, and voters keep putting the the same self-destructive ideologues in office.
I suppose that when people begin to realize that Islam is a racist, Nazi cult, they'll be less reluctant to listen to those who have their best interest at heart.

I understand RedStateInfidel's concern stated in one of the posts above, but I agree with Hugh's assessment.
I would also add that there is a significant role that responsible private individuals, under the second amendment, can play in assuring civil society remains civil.
In any case, the decades long orgy of Western cultural self flagellation, pushed along by the corruption of our educational system, has encouraged many of the attitudes and actions that now require our "yoots" to know the techniques, and master the tools required to save "the body".

It figures, the Norwegian police are blaming Sweden and Denmark for the demonstration! It says that the radical demonstrators traveled from Sweden and Denmark to participate in Saturday's demonstration [in Oslo].
