CHAMAN, Pakistan (AFP)--Thousands of people rallied Friday in southwest Pakistan, near the Afghan border, against Israel's strikes on the Gaza Strip, cheering support for Al-Qaeda's Osama bin Laden, police said.The rally in the town of Chaman was organized by the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam political party and was the biggest yet in Pakistan against the Israeli campaign in Gaza, which has killed hundreds of Palestinians.
"Our estimate is that there were more than 3,000 people at the rally," local police station chief Abul Latif said.
"Long Live Osama bin Laden," protesters chanted as they marched through town carrying placards that read "Jihad is the only treatment for Israel," "Stop killing innocent people in Palestine" and "Stop atrocities against Muslims".
They also chanted "Death to Israel, death to America and death to Britain".
"Muslim countries should shut down the embassies of the U.S. and Israel, and declare jihad against Israel," local party leader Maulvi Mohammad Hanif told the crowd.
"The silence of the United Nations over the atrocities being committed against Muslims shows that it is a surrogate of America, Israel and Britain," he said....
Uh, not exactly.
Naturally Britain's response will be to increase Pakistani immigration to their country. The obvious solution to this hostility is increased diversity in Britain.

Interesting, I don't remember this sort of outrage when Muslims were exterminating non-Muslims in Darfur. I don't remember this sort of outrage when Arab Muslims ran out of non-Muslims to slaughter and started to exterminate Black Muslims. Matter of fact I think I remember the Islamic world calling for Jihad in Darfur to help augment the genocide. I also seem to remember the president of Sudan bragging that he would double the genocide if the outside world didn't shut up about it ... while shouting "Allah Akbar!". I simpy do not think the Islamic world has any opinions on this subject that are worthy of the air expelled in expressing them.

The protest is never in the name of "Palestinian" freedom and self-determination. For some mysterious reason it is always religion we hear from. And, strange to say, the religious rhetoric is almost always genocidal and anti-semitic.
We in the West have become sadly naive about this. We have more or less divested ourselves of religion (as a society) and no longer understand either how it works, or that it is a motivator.
As to what particular kind of motivator this particular religion is, well, I think the society I live in would need 100 jihadwatches to even begin to understand that.

Chaman is in Baluchistan, which some people (including anti-Punjabi troll mystichealer) here sadly seem to think should be made independent. How more Islamic countries worldwide can be a solution, they only know. It's also near the place that Pakistan conducted their nuclear tests.
