Vote anti-jihad for Best Conservative Blog: vote Atlas!

Spencer and Atlas at the pro-Israel rally in New York Tuesday

I posted about this yesterday, but made a mistake with the link, and so I thought it worth reiterating with link repaired. My friend and colleague Pamela Geller of Atlas Shrugs is up for "Best Conservative Blog" in the 2008 Weblog Awards. Go over and vote!

In the past I haven't paid much attention to such awards, but since there is one reliable and consistent anti-jihadist blog up for this one, it richly deserves to win. Despite being defamed and smeared by those who have betrayed the anti-jihad resistance in search of imaginary fascists and white supremacists, Pamela has soldiered on -- and recently she has been doing remarkable work covering the Israel/Gaza conflict, especially the bloodthirsty and hateful demonstrations that the Left and the jihad sympathizers have been staging all over. The last few weeks I have been tempted to link to practically every story she puts up, but it would be just as easy for you to go over and read them all at Atlas Shrugs, and check back regularly.

There are other good guys around as well. The peerless Kathy Shaidle of Five Feet of Fury is up for Best Canadian Blog. Israel Matzav is up for Best Midsize Blog. And in a crowded field, Martin Kramer, Elder of Ziyon, Fundamentally Freund and IsraellyCool are up for Best Middle East or Africa Blog.

You can vote once a day!

UPDATE: Whoops! I missed one. The excellent Shire Network News is up for Best Podcast. Check out their latest show, strong as usual, about Gaza.

SECOND UPDATE: Brian of London of Shire Network News has kindly alerted me to the fact that in the Best UK Blog category you can vote for the incomparable Melanie Phillips.

I'm glad to see you support Pamela, Robert...She has my vote, good work deserves recognition...She's not the only anti-jihadists doing good work, but she's one of the cutest...

A united front is what is needed, and a united front is what we are getting...as Drudge would say, 'developing'...

The peaceful demonstrations by Pro-Israeli's and the chaotic, noisy, violent 'riotous' demonstrations by 'you know who', show without a doubt, which group is more civilized. In the end, civilization will win...

Now that Hezbollah has fired some rockets into Israel and Israel returned fire into Lebanon, anything can happen, and Israel may need even more support than they have now...

I ain't running in any contest, it hurts my knees too much. But the good thing is that you can vote once every day. Yesterday Carl in Jerusalem got my vote. Today, Robert will get my vote.

Vote Early and Often for Pam!

Can we hire ACORN for Pam?

I seem to recall them being successful in the last election.

Robert & Pamela have a good reason to smile, because Islam is goin' down! Goin' down to China town!

...no offense towards China...it's just an old saying.

I 'discovered' Israellycool a while ago.

Recommended. (And not just because he used to be an Aussie before he made aliyah; he still has a super-cute koala on his blog).

OT: I discovered something that amused me, since I am Australian, in Lowdermilk's 'Palestine: Land of Promise'. The 19th century Zionists, faced with massive malarial swamps, imported Australian river red gums which are salt-tolerant and very, very good at sucking up unwanted water (they were used for the same purpose, by the Italians - which is why their botanical name is, in fact, Eucalyptus camaldulensis, the 'camaldulensis' part referring to a locality in Italy). Other eucalypts, too. And guess what the local Arabs promptly named these strange new trees? - "Jew trees" !!

So, my fellow Australians: one Arabic term for the eucalyptus is..."Jew tree". Think about that next time you see a big river red gum or blue-gum tree.

Done! But I'm disappointed to see her @ #4, just like in the anti-Dhimmi awards. Well...
