Accused Atlanta jihadist says plot was "empty talk"

"Fantasies" about jihad. That's all it was, he says.

"Suspected Atlanta terrorist said he never planned violence," by Megan Matteucci for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, August 4 (thanks to James):

A suspected Atlanta terrorist told a jury Tuesday he talked about jihad but never had an actual plan of violence.

Ehsanul Islam Sadequee presented a 14-minute opening statement in his own trial Tuesday morning. He is accused of conspiring with known terrorists -- including one arrested with 40 pounds of explosives -- to launch a violent jihad. Prosecutors say he supplied video of Washington D.C., landmarks to overseas terrorists.

“There was no plan. There was a lot of talk about doing a lot of things,” Sadequee told the jury. “A lot of just empty talk.”

Prosecutors say Sadequee didn’t need to actually launch an attack, just orchestrating it is a crime.

“The law allows the government to stop the plan before someone enrolls in flight school and learns to fly a jet,” federal prosecutor Robert McBurney said.

Sadequee, 23, opted Monday to represent himself. On Tuesday, the jury listened to him nervously talk about his “fantasies” about jihad....

Restoring such of the original comments, as I recorded - dumbledoresarmy.

First part: including a long exchange with Mohammedtroll, AbdullahMikail.

UNDAUNTED said - Riiiiiiight. When it comes time for this brave jihadi to face the infidel, to courageously take a stand for his god and his cause, to take one in the shorts for the ummah... he wusses out.

Pussy.

ABDULLAH MIKAIL said - Stupid is as stupid does.

Plan the crime, do the time.

-WELLINGTON observed - Mohammed didn't do any time (at least on earth).
-ABDULLAH MIKAIL said- No time of the sort you are thinking.

But neither will Isa, neither will Yushua, neither will Ayub, neither will Ibrahim, neither will any of the Prophets of God receive anything akin to what you allude.

Where do you suppose the people of Cannan went after the walls came crashing down at the behest of Joshua (Yushua)? Do you suppose they were given exit Visa's and escorted to the border kindly?

The Prophets all did as they were commanded.

-WELLINGTON said to AM - Huh uh.
-SORROW said to AM - Yes, it is a garbled appropriation.

-WELLINGTON said to SORROW - AM deserved nothing more of a reply, but to you Sorrow01 I would add that Muslims and non-Muslim apologists for Islam seem oblivious of the fact (or are being deliberately disingenuous) that while the Old Testament is not to be taken as a paradigm for action for all time, the Koran most definitely is (decreed by Allah in Arabic to be an instructional manual forever and all that rot). More Muslim disinformation, obfuscation and overall wrongheadedness. So tired of this nonsense, as I'm sure you are.

-CHAMP told ABDULLAH MIKAIL - If Mo were alive today, then he would be behind bars -- or he would have faced the death penalty for his wicked crimes.

"Stupid is as stupid does", eh? Yeah, it's pretty stupid to devote ones time and attention to a would-be prisoner (some prophet!).

-ABDULLAH MIKAIL told CHAMP - If he were alive today he would do exactly as he did before.

-MOBAMAD said to ABDULLAH MIKAIL (quoting) - "If he [Muhammad] were alive today he would do exactly as he did before."

Rape babies, murder Jews, Steal from all. Hate, hate, hate. Mohoggad was evil. He was a prophet of Satan. Not of GOD.

-CHAMP said to ABDULLAH MIKAIL (quoting) - "If he were alive today he would do exactly as he did before."

Your point?

Yeah, Mo would have been arrested and imprisoned and possibly put to death for his numerous and evil crimes. If any man deserved the death penalty, it was he.

-UNDAUNTED added - Yea, what she said.

-SORROW said to CHAMP - Yes, you get to see the true nature of the beast.

-BEAUTY OF REASON said to ABDULLAH MIKAIL - You mean a 50-something guy having sex with a 9-year-old girl? That's disgusting for any age. I'm not sure how you sleep at night...

-WELLINGTON said to BEAUTY OF REASON - Muslims can never deny this one and it's interesting to see how they try and justify it (or just ignore it). On this basis alone, Mohammed revealed himself as someone who had no business being a messenger of God. This alone disqualifies the impostor.

-WELLINGTON told ABDULLAH MIKAIL - You revere Mohammed. I hate the bastard.

Would you bet your life that you are right and I am wrong?

I would make such a bet without hesitation, because if I am right I lose nothing and am vindicated to boot.

If you would win such a wager I would still not regret my choice, because if Islam is the true religion then this is a very creepy universe and God's an Orwellian tyrant and the better part of mankind must then act the part of Prometheus to redeem its humanity.

Are you beginning to understand the depth of my opposition to your belief system or do you still need further elucidation? Done here.

-THE LEGEND said to CHAMP - champ i got the visa only 13 days left or 12 days left to travel.

sure the Muslims love to act pure but they are devils inside screaming sayin i wanna blow my self up lol.

-CHAMP told THE LEGEND - Hi, TL, I bet you can hardly wait to go to Romania, and I also bet you're not only counting the days, but you're counting the minutes as well, lol :)

Yeah, allah requires the shedding of blood BY Muslims so that they can serve their evil god by blowing themselves up -- but the Christian God, Jesus Christ, laid down His own life and shed His own blood to set men Free. So, no matter where you live, true freedom can be found in Jesus Christ.

-EBONYSTONE said to CHAMP (quoting) - "If Mo were alive today, then he would be behind bars -- or he would have faced the death penalty for his wicked crimes. "

That depends on his location were he alive today.

In lots of places, he'd face no penalties at all, and would probably be respected for his actions.

For example: in Egypt, kidnapping Christian girls, raping them, and forcing them to convert to Islam; or in Iran, lynching homosexuals (i.e. those of the wrong sort, the ones who love other men, not the o.k. ones that seduce boys);

or in Pakistan, burning Christians' homes and killing the Christians themselves.

In a sense, he is alive today -- he lives in all his raping, stealing, killing followers who imitate his example. And in too much of the world, they get away with it.

-CHAMP said to EBONYSTONE - Good point, Ebonystone.

But in AM's case, and because he lives in America and he claims to be devoted to American justice, then that should be the standard by which Muhammad would be judged.

So, with that in mind, if Muhammad had committed these crimes on American soil and was arrested, then he would have been sentenced to life in prison, or he would have received the death penalty;

which only makes AM a brainwashed hypocrite -- not only for following this evil prophet, but for defending him as well.

American justice aside, common sense and a healthy conscience determines that Muhammad's crimes were evil and worthy of a harsh punishment, regardless of when or where he committed them.

=SORROW said to CHAMP – I think you can see that there is only one law adhered to in his [AM’S] case."

MOBAMAD (quoting) "Sadequee, 23, opted Monday to represent himself. On Tuesday, the jury listened to him nervously talk about his “fantasies” about jihad...."

What other "Islamic fantisies" was this scum bag "fantasizing" about? I hope that the FBI has thought to chech their hard drives for other kinds of "fantasy" items. While they are at it, they should request to see the mosque's hard drive to see what has been eraced in the last few days.

HEROYALWHYNESS said - Terrorism suspects 'sought religious approval'
'The Melbourne Magistrates Court heard some of them discussed obtaining a religious ruling from overseas or interstate in support of their alleged plans.
One of the suspects, Nayef El Sayed, 25, of Glenroy, has been charged with a terrorism-related offence.
During his brief court appearance he sat behind a window and refused to stand to acknowledge the magistrate because, as his lawyer explained, his religious beliefs meant he felt he should only stand for God and not a man.
He did not apply for bail and was remanded in custody to face court again in October.'

OUTOFCONTEXT said - This is perfectly normal and believable. For example, I was planning to go out and love my neighbors more and make the world a better place, but in the end I just vegged out on the couch. I'm sure Jihadis have the same experience. /sarc

JETCAL said - I can believe how mean spirited these posts are!!

Just empty talk? Okay, so he apparently has no sense of right or wrong and he even might be delusional, and therefore insane.

As a mentally at-risk individual, we should for humanitarian reasons ensure his safety and security.

Perhaps he could benefit from Western generosity and be awarded a lifetime of care in a secure psychiatric facility.

PMK said - “There was no plan. There was a lot of talk about doing a lot of things,”

And none of them were legal. It's called "conspiracy".

DUH SWAMI said - '...the jury listened to him nervously talk about his “fantasies” about jihad....'

He's 23 and his fantasies are about jihad...Most twenty three year old men have fantasies about something else.

How about that Abdullah, are jihad fantasies common among Mahoundians? Do you have them?...

VIRGIL said - Yes, and 9/11 was empty talk until a group of young Muslim men decided to come to America and actually hijack airliners. Ehsanul Islam Sadequee's plot was indeed "empty talk," but that is only because the FBI busted him and his cohort before they were able to translate their "empty talk" into deadly reality.

TANSTAAFL said (quoting) - "empty talk" - I could make a remark about empty heads, but I don't want to appear to be patronizing.
