Two truck bombs shattered the dawn calm when they exploded within minutes of each other in the mostly Shi'ite village of al-Khazna, 20 km (12 miles) east of Mosul in Iraq's north, killing 30 people and wounding 155.

Outside Saudi Arabia, I have the impression that Iraq has the most Islamic shrines and pilgrimage sites in the world.
I believe that this is what we are seeing in Iraq; the beginnings of a permanent schism between Shia and Sunni on the succession issue.

See that? - 'a *sect* of Kurdish origin'. So: in a mostly-Shi'ite village we appear to have a subset, or 'sect', known as the 'Shabak', who are Kurdish, rather than 'Arab'.

What they have all done for this to happen is to accept their lives as part of a vile cult, to just keep on keeping on instead of trying to change anything; to believe anything they're told; and hope it's your neighbour that gets it instead of you.
