Remember: as the Ayatollah Khomeini said, There is no fun in Islam. The most prestigious championship match in the world has to give way before the Soldiers of the Pure.
By the way, Sky News, about those "Soldiers of the Pure": Pure what? Why don't you tell us?
"Badminton Team Quit Over 'Terror Threat,'" from SkyNews, August 9 (thanks to all who sent this in):
England's badminton team have pulled out of the World Championships in the Indian city of Hyderabad because of "a specific terrorist threat" against the event. The eight-strong squad have withdrawn following reports of a threat by the Muslim extremist group Lashkar-e-Taiba.
The team, including Olympic silver medallist Nathan Robertson, were due to play from Monday.
Badminton England chief executive Adrian Christy said the decision to quit was "incredibly tough".
He said: "After the Olympic Games, this is the most prestigious championships in the world but we were not prepared to risk the safety of our players, coaches and staff in what we felt could have been a very volatile environment.
"This was an incredibly tough decision and one we didn't take lightly."
Lashkar-e-Taiba - which is Urdu for Soldiers of the Pure - is a Pakistan-based organisation fighting against Indian control in Kashmir....
Just re-posting, for the record, such comments as were made to this story, during the final crazy days over at IntenseDebate.
PULSAR said - regarding the badminton team....Muslim terror wins a small battle....Islam is the religion of terror...indeed .....there is no fun in Islam...
MUHAMMADBEAR said - Other sporting bodies should start boycotting Pakistani sporting teams until the Pakistan authorities can sort this out.
If the English Cricket Board (and a few others) started cancelling tours, public pressure inside Pakistan would start mounting very quickly.
-MRSJ replied - There's always an attitude in Britain that cancelling events etc is 'giving in' and that if you do so the 'terrorists have won'. Indeed, such an attitude got us through the IRA years.
What people don't understand is that Islamists (for want of a better word) are nothing like the IRA and that showing them 'you don't care' means absolutely nothing, and that even if they achieved their goal of world domination that the killing, the bombs and the misery would not stop - in fact it would get worse.

Yeah. It's hard, kissing your stones goodbye.
ALARMED PIG FARMER said - (quoting) ".. we were not prepared to risk the safety of our players, coaches and staff in what we felt could have been a very volatile environment."
Volatile? Moslems have been steadfastly volatile since the outset way back in 622 or 623, acting out with sudden violence so relentlessly as to disqalify themselves from Infidels being able to use the word to describe our feisty friends.
*** 8:73 ***
Fight the unbelievers around you, and let them find harshness in you.
--- God calling in Koran 9:123 for perpetual volatility until all are Moslems or are subjugated by them.
GRAVEN IMAGE said "- Jihad against badminton: England's team pulls out of championships in India because of jihadist terror threat"
.................................
I don't blame them. It's not the first time innoffensive sports teams have been targeted by jihadists. It now seems likely that the Jakarta hotel bombings were in large part targeting Britain's Manchester United soccer team, which had been scheduled for a match against the Indonesian All Star team.
Then there was the recent attack in Pakistan on Sri Lanka's cricket team, and--of course--the vicious attack on Israeli athletes at the 1972 Olympics. A couple of years ago, Somali teens were murdered just for *watching the world cup* on television.
Ironically, the fact that Pakistan fields a good cricket team, and at times works out its rivalry with India on the field, has sometimes been pointed out as a sign of civilization. Unfortunately, there seems to be a growing, all-out Jihad against innocent sporting events, throughout much of the Muslim world.
-BASEBALLMAVEN said - Yes, sports are an 'easy' and visible target that give shock value. . . .and since there's no fun in islam, sports make a good target from that perspective as well. Sad, as you say gravenimage; I think of the joyfulness when the first post Saddam soccer team from Iraq played...and now sports are becoming haram
DAH7171 said - Please do not think England = Britain. The Scotland team will participate in the competition. Scotland does not panic as much as southern Britain i.e. England.
-GREATICON said - Tomorrow they will threaten the england team at home, then where you wind up. They must not have given in and cancelled their tour.
The jihadis threaten you and you wind up in your home, its a moral victory for these thugs. India is not a islamic country, nothing you can compare to the craphole like pakistan. They should have gone ahead with their tour and not given in like cowards.

It also means Army of the Good and Army of the Righteous.
They have terrorized Kashmiris and Indians and their goal is to "restore" Islamic rule over all of India but the claim to have no "global jihadist aims"
They have, of course, declared Hindus and Jews as the enemy.
BLEVIT said - What a shocker,England pulls out
I have a pool going of when England will become an Islamic country
My bet is 2024
I hear Prince Harry is already reading the Koran
-DUMBLEDORESARMY said- If Prince Harry is reading the Koran someone here from the UK should just make sure to send him a nice copy of Mr Spencer's "Infidel's Guide to the Quran" as soon as it comes off the press.
JEFFS said (referring to Lashkar-e-Taiba, 'Soldiers of the Pure) - Pure what? Pure evil.
