"Moderate" Fatah applauds as heroes jihadists who killed 37 Israeli civilians

Fatah, don't forget, is the "moderate" Palestinian faction to which the U.S. and E.U. are giving money and support, dreamily hoping that it will establish a stable, secure Palestinian State that will live in peace side-by-side with Israel.

"Terrorists who killed 37 civilians applauded as heroes by Fatah leaders," by Itamar Marcus and Nan Jacques Zilberdik for Palestinian Media Watch, August 5:

Fatah leaders responded with loud applause when two terrorists who committed the worst terror attack in Israel's history were referred to as heroic Martyrs by former PA Prime Minister Abu Alaa, at the opening ceremony of Fatah's Sixth General Conference:

"We have in our midst the hero Khaled Abu-Usbah, hero of the operation [terror attack] led by the Shahida (Martyr) Dalal Mughrabi [loud applause from the audience]. We salute him and welcome him. And [we salute] the hero, the Shahida (Martyr) Dalal. [He shouts:] All the glory! All the glory! All the glory! All the sisters here are Dalal's sisters." [PATV (Fatah), Aug. 4, 2009]

Dalal Mughrabi and Khaled Abu-Usbah are seen as Palestinian heroes for having carried out the bus hijacking in 1978 in which 37 Israeli civilians, 12 of them children, were murdered.

Former Prime Minister Abu Alaa (Ahmad Qurei), who read the statement, is the current Chairman of Fatah Department for Recruitment and Organization.

First part.

GMCCAL said - Lt. Michael P. Murphy, US Navy Seal, was awarded the Medal of Honor posthumously and was a true hero, not people like this.

Medal of Honor - the key word being Honor. Where is the honor in killing innocent civilians riding a bus?

There is no honor in Islam.

-MOBAMAD said - I know, this phenomenon of puting the word honor witha deed that has no honor is absolutly astounding to me. We need to be activly denouncing this form of verbal assassination of the word honor, and call it what it is... Dishonor.
-WINOCEROS said - No wonder the West are scurrilous and confused according to Muslims. If you've been reared on Animal Farm, you would think up is down, wouldn't you?

AL2313 said - How on earth can Fatah be considered moderate when they commit the same atrocities as Hamas? They kill innocent people, support terrorism, consider some Jihadis who killed 37 Israeli civilians as martyrs and heroes.

POETCOMIC said - Loud and clear. Couldn't be louder and clearer if they danced on the roofs waving Jewish body parts and wearing swastikas BUT our Western elites..... see moderates. Palestinian moderates, the tooth fairy, Santa Claus etc.

CARPEDIADEM said - And another dream of "peace" bites the murderous palestinian arab dust.

CANTO said - Obama and Hillary love Fatah, and since Fatah was having budgetary shortfalls they transferred another $200,000,000. of US taxpayer money - in spite of the deep recession - directly to them to show they care. Not much of this was made in the MSM, which also cares. It's a crazy world.

-GRIMREAPER said - you gotta pay the tax, so you can subsidize events such as the recent mass marriage of 8 and 9 yr old girls to full grown men and pay them $500 to do it.

That is where your tax dollar is going on in Palestine and other places.

So this year we borrowed the $200M (When you factor in Pakistan and Afghanistan it is a lot lot more) and are now paying interest to the Chinese on it, so when we pay it back it will be triple or more. Get ready for a big tax increase so we can pay the tax that funds programs, like these.

DUHSWAMI said - For western people supporting murder and abuse is a hard thing to do...Not so in Islam where murderer and abuse is not only advocated, it is applauded.

How can this be Abdullah?

Sure there are a few deviates in every religion and group, but nearly every Hamas supporter and Fatah supporter applauds and cheers and celebrates, and Allaholics everywhere resonate in sympathy...

A public orgasm of sorts...The celebrates are getting off on the deaths of others, in this case 37 Jews including children...

I realize that I am a confused kufr, Abdullah, but I fail to see what there is to celebrate in the murder of 37 people, or 37,000 for that matter, unless you are outright deranged.
It looks to me like these Mahoundians are celebrating evil, which seems to be an on-going and wide spread phenomena in Islam...
Are all these Mahoundians misunderstanding Islam?
They may need your help getting it right...It's a big job Abdullah, but you can handle it..

RNATHAN said - Remind us again why capital punishment is "wrong". If these murderers had been executed, it would have sent a powerful message. And we wouldn't have to suffer this disgraceful spectacle.

-DUHSWAMI said - The problem with the death penalty and these guys is that it is what most of them prefer...A quick trip to the fab 72, or years in kufr prison, is a no brainer for them. Personally I would rather see them get life with permanent assignments to the prison hog farm...There are things worse than death...On the other hand just 'getting rid of them' works also...

-DADCITO told DUHSWAMI - I disagree with you on this. The idea of making these people suffer here is inordinately expensive. I don't really believe (and I am sure you don't either) in any nonsense about 72 virgins and beautiful boys.

I do, however, believe in insisting that my tax money be used for a quick enforcement of the death penalty rather than a life of three hots and a cot for these scumbags at 80k yearly.

MUHAMMADBEAR said - Most cultures praise people who achieve greatness; the giants of history such as Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein or Charles Darwin; or the great achievements of our time such as when Francis Collins unlocked the human genome or the simple discovery of penicillin. From Galileo and Hubble, who made great strides in advancing knowledge, to Curie and Fleming, whose discoveries have improved our longevity and way of life, this is the legacy of Western culture.

And what is the source of Islam’s cultural pride? - just a group of cowardly murderers.

-GRAVENIMAGE said - Very true, Muhammed Bear. You learn a great deal about a society by noting who it lauds as heroes--and what it tells us about the Muslim world is consistently ugly.

GRAVENIMAGE said - '(quoting) "Moderate" Fatah applauds as heroes jihadists who killed 37 Israeli civilians
.............................

Yet during this same period Israel is at great pains to prove that she not only never targeted civilians during Operation Cast Lead in Gaza, but that she did everything possible to warn and protect those same civilians--even when they were supporting the Hamas terrorists in their midst.

It would be difficult to imagine a more glaring double standard--and yet, it is seldom commented on in the mainstream media.'

FAIRUZFAN said - Certainly this was an abhorent attack that should not be honored. I remember Cynthia Ozick's column about it at the time.

But perhaps our Zionist friends and sympathizers can explain how Jewish terrorists like David Raziel have wound up being honored as Israeli national heroes. Double standard, indeed.

-PULSAR replied - I am glad you are reminding everyone about David Raziel.....It is true he killed many Muslims using the bombing techniques he acquired by watching his fellow Jews being slaughtered by the Muslims...

Folks...the Muslims were running around making false accusations against the Jews and causing the Muslims to become enraged (sound familiar?), The Muslims would then go on a rampage and start killing Jews and anyone else standing there (sound familiar)...Well.

Ole Dave said enough is enough....he began dishing it back...and violent death is something Muslims understand....Ole Dave understood Muslims...

HUGH (Hugh Fitzgerald) said - 'Assorted Fatah members, including Mohammad Dahlan, have been falling all over themselves in the last month or so explaining that Fatah -- and the late Yassir Arafat -- have for years been even more active terrorists than Hamas, just as implacable in their hatred of Israel than Hamas, and with a strategy that is more effective. Dahlan et al. happen to be right.

'None of this is reflected in the idiotic article ofTom Friedman, writing from Ramallah, that appeared in today's Times, and that praises all the putative economic progress in the "West Bank" (there is only the "progress" that constant infusions of Western aid provide, and the relative security that is provided not by Fatah men, but by the Israelis who are the only true guarantee that Hamas will be kept down, and Fatah stay in power. it is an absurd policy for Israel to continue to protect Fatah, which in the end is more threatening (as Dahlan says) to Israel.

'And Friedman's comment in today's column about the wonders of "Fayyadism" -- which is nothing more than Fayyad being the first non-corrupt minister in the history of "Palestinian" Authority's misrule -- and how it, and the PLO pseudo-rule in the "West Bank," made possible only by Israel continuing to ensure overall security, might be a "model" for the rest of the Arabs.

'So Iraq didn't turn out to be that Light Unto the Muslim Nations. But, according to the constant enthusaist Friedman, always fresh with some new notion that has just come to him, and that he offers, and then does not even bother to formally discard but simply ignores or forgets about when it later appears even more obviously foolish than it did when Friedman first brightly sent it out into the world, it is now "Palestine" in the "West Bank" that can be that "model."

'The Palestinian Authority is neither "Palestinian" nor an "Authority."

'It consists of a group of local Arabs, headed by warlords, whose policies are, by recent admission, not different in the end from those of Hamas.

'The Slow Jihadists of Fatah and the Fast Jihadists of Hamas ardently desire the same thing: the destruction, the disappearance, of the tiny Infidel nation-state of Israel.

'They differ, and by less than the Western world realizes, only on matters of tactics and timing.

'And as to tactics -- the admission by Dahlan and others of how Arafat and his henchmen were in up to their necks in terrorism (the surprise, for intelligent people, is only in the fact of the admission, not in what is being admitted), and the insistence that Fatah is as uncompromising tyoward Israel as Hamas (ditto)-- is most useful, if attention is paid.

'But when did Tom Friedman ever bother to pay attention to such things? He breezes from country to country, and everywhere he goes, he writes some breathless, full-of-himself (count the "I"s in any Friedman column -- that's always the first thing to do), missing-the-point nonsense. And he goes, this Friedman, from strength to strength, with his best-sellers, and his $75,000 a shot lectures, and all the rest. He's a Representative Man.

'And what he represents is the Triumph of Stupidity.

'Sometimes it doesn't matter. When it comes to the Middle East, it does.'
