Mohammed most popular boy's name in four biggest Dutch cities

Eurabia Update: "Mohammed is most popular boy's name in four biggest Dutch cities," by Bruno Waterfield in the Telegraph, August 13 (thanks to all who sent this in):

Mohammed, or other variations of the name of Islam's founding prophet, has become the most popular name choice for baby boys in the four biggest cities of the Netherlands.

Information collected by the country's social security agency has found that traditional Dutch names have been displaced in the urban centres of Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague and Utrecht as the country's Muslim population grows.

In The Hague variations of the name Mohammed have taken first, second and fifth place in the Dutch capital's league table of most popular names for boys, replacing traditional favourites such as Jan, Luuk, Gijs or Daan.

At a national level the name Mohammed is now the 16th most popular name for boys....

Previous government name counts, separating the different versions, have avoided controversy by keeping the name of Islam's founder outside the Dutch top 20 of favourite names for baby boys.

Geert Wilders, leader of the far-Right, anti-Islam Freedom Party, which is currently leading the Dutch opinion polls, has demanded a government investigation following the Daily Telegraph's Aug 8 report that over a fifth of the European Union's population has been forecast to be Muslim by 2050....

Recent studies have indicated that fears over the radicalisation of young Muslims have been exaggerated however...

We'll see, won't we?

From the discussion that took place when this article was first posted, on IntDeb:

SAXONLANDS said – “Geert Wilders, leader of the far-Right, anti-Islam Freedom Party, which is currently leading the Dutch opinion polls”

And hopefully someday in the not to distant future a headline will read:

We live for hope.

-MRSJ - David Cameron? You're hopeful, aren't you? Here's a quote from 'Call Me Dave':

“Not for the first time, I found myself thinking that it is mainstream Britain which needs to integrate more with the British Asian way of life, not the other way around.” – David Cameron, “What I learnt from my stay with a Muslim family,” - The Observer, Sunday 13 May 2007.

-MRSJ - And as Mohammed (and variations) is also the #1 baby boy's name in the UK, we need to stop and even reverse Muslim immigration, not reduce it.

-DDA said to SAXON - Let's revise your imagined future headline to read:''"Dutch Prime Minister Geert Wilders met with his British counterpart Patrick Mercer to discuss a common strategy to reduce immigration from Muslim majority countries...".

-EBONYSTONE said - or better yet: ". . . a common strategy to end immigration from Muslim majority countries."

-HESPERADO said - Or better yet: "a common strategy to deport all Muslims as soon as possible -- even if that means in 75 to 100 years from now."

And here are some more of the comments, as kept by me.

CHAMP said - What a sad statistic, considering the fact that Muhammad was the vilest human being to ever live. Do these parents hate their children? ...apparently so!
-BASEBALLMAVEN said - since so many are willing to sacrifice their children, clearly love doesn't enter into it

-DDA said - They call their sons Mohammed.

But even worse than that...lots and lots of their daughters are named after *Aisha*. Imagine being named after a girl who was 'married' at six and being screwed at nine, as the 'bride' of a ruthless sex-mad power-mad psycho warlord.

TANSTAAFL observed - I really like Geert.

IMNODHIMMI said - How do they ever keep all these little Mos straight? Imagine being a public school teacher trying to take attendance.

-DDA replied to IMNODHIMMI- I don't think they do. I recall, back in January, reading something blogged by a person who had gone along to stickybeak at one of the Muslim 'let's hate Jews' rallies. At one point in the proceedings, as everyone was milling around, someone sang out 'Mohammed!'...and three quarters of the men in the crowd spun round, thinking it was their name being called.

-EBONYSTONE added - Remember the uproar about the teddy bear named Mohammed in the Sudan? And how it turned out that the kids had voted on the name, and the great majority had voted for their own name? They all thought it was a fine name.

And here are the other comments.

VIRGIL quoted the article - “Geert Wilders, leader of the far-Right, anti-Islam Freedom Party, which is currently leading the Dutch opinion polls, has demanded a government investigation following the Daily Telegraph's Aug 8 report that over a fifth of the European Union's population has been forecast to be Muslim by 2050.”

And said: 'Note how they spin this: "far Right" and "anti-Islam". When the media uses the term "far Right" they are trying to invoke images of Nazis and fascists (and note that the pro-Obama media in the US is doing the same thing in regards to the town hall protesters), even though, aside from his immigration positions, Wilders social and economic views are fairly libertarian. As for the "anti-Islam" claim, I won't contest it, but I think a more appropriate description would be pro-Dutch.'

AMERICANDELIGHT said - I didn't think I would come to appreciate illegal immigration from Mexico into the U.S. as much as I do now. I would far prefer Juan to be America's new #1 baby name than Mohammed!
-EBONYSTONE said - Or maybe Jesus.

-DDA told EBONYSTONE - The thing to do is for ACT and other diligent US jihadwatchers to make sure that the Spanish-language section of every local library and of every public and also every Catholic high school/ college library, in every city and region in the USA with a large Hispanic migrant population, is provided with a copy, or more than one copy, of the Spanish translation of "The PIG to Islam and the Crusades". Same deal for every Catholic and Evangelical church that obviously has a Puerto Rican, Mexican or other Latino/ Hispanic component in its congregation; if you have one in your neighbourhood and the priest or pastor is obviously conversant in Spanish, present him with a copy.

The people over in Greeley who are conducting a campaign against sharia, have made alliance with the discontented Hispanic workforce (who are truly pzzed off with the Somali Muslims), and I understand their information fliers, about Islam and sharia and Sayyid Qutb, are bilingual - English and Spanish.

-ABSCEDERE said - I never thought I'd say this: I'd rather learn to speak Spanish than watch Burqas on Parade, in the local mall.
