"Muhammad knows nothing about football": Muslims enraged by verse in German soccer club song

You mean...Muhammad did know about soccer? "The song with the title 'White and Blue, How I Love You' has been around for decades but only recently came to the attention of Turkish media which said it insults the Prophet." And of course that means that the West must once again bend.

"Muslims Angered by Verse in German Soccer Club Song," from Spiegel, August 4 (thanks to Sr. Soph):

The verse "Muhammad Was a Prophet Who Knows Nothing About Football" in the official song of German soccer club Schalke 04 has sparked more than 100 complaints from Muslims. The club says it's looking into the matter.

German Bundesliga soccer club Schalke 04 has received more than 100 complaints from Muslims about its club song which contains the verse: "Muhammad was a Prophet who knows nothing about football."

The song with the title "White and Blue, How I Love You" has been around for decades but only recently came to the attention of Turkish media which said it insults the Prophet.

Muslims are now demanding that the offending line be struck from the song, which is chanted by Schalke's fans before every match.

The management of the club, based in the western town of Gelsenkirchen in the industrial Ruhr region, is concerned about the complaints and says it is consulting an expert on Islam.

It's unclear why the song contains the reference to Muhammad given that the rest of the lyrics focus on the beauty of the team colors white and blue and on the fact that Schalke will never die.

"The song is age old. Both sides should sit down and discuss this, we're all sensible people," Schalke's former manager Rudi Assauer told the mass circulationBild newspaper....

Of course we are.

Islam is evil
Islam is vile
Mad man Mo
A pedophile

Better yet:

Jews and Christians, for friends say no
They're apes and pigs, don't you know
Fight 'em, kill 'em, slay 'em as you can
Behead and dismember, just do it man

Honor Killings, Honor Rapes
Righteous deeds for heavens sakes
Several wives, many slaves
Beat 'em right 'til they all behave

Many battles, many slaughters
Then we get to take your daughters
Mo on Aisha - six times older
Dare don't fight us, we'll just get bolder

All*h Akbar is what we scream
It's not a nightmare, it's not a dream
We love death more than you love life
We don't want peace, we just want strife

We love the humble, we adore the meek
Your destruction is what we seek
Turn the other cheek, many say
We behead, that's our way

Mo's our man, you best not diss
Our ancient, wise ones drank his piss
Right hand, left leg, left hand, right
Amputation order, get it right

Bleeding women can't hold the 'ran
Back in the kitchen and serve your man
If 'I divorce you' is what I say
You're out of here, out of my way

Sins on earth, this right here
Rewards in heaven, don't you fear

Sticks and stones will break your bones,
Toons
72 virgins, always pure
Never ED, that's for sure

If 'I divorce you' is what I say
You're out of here, out of my way

We love the humble, we adore the meek
Your destruction is what we seek

-UNDAUNTED told JEW LOVER - You're quite the poet.

/Can't remember what's after Sticks and Stones will break your bones part, sorry.
Other parts need MUCH reworking as well, but hopefully readers can feel the LOVE.

-SORROW said - I think Turkey really needs to be kept out of the E.U.. If it is going to stir up nonsense over this, it has no business being in any serious Western alliance or forum.

-MUHAMMADBEAR said - Isn't it only Obama that wants Turkey in the EU?
-SORROW said - Gordon Brown.

-EASTVIEW told SORROW - Right. What are the Turks thinking? Just what they need to help endear themselves to the Germans as they ponder whether to admit Turkey to the E.U. Or, maybe Turkey feels they already have enough immigrants in Germany that they don't need to worry about what real Germans think. On second thought, that gives them more credit than they deserve. They just can't help themselves. Two words seem to fit this situation. Shoot, and foot.

-SORROW told JEW LOVER - They should sing that at the games;)

-AL23 said - One of the best poems i have heard in a long time.

-EPISTEMOLOGY said - Great, that should be Jihad Watchers' anthem. LOL
-RRWEST said - Thats hilarious!

You've neatly encapsulated many of the excesses and practices of Islam that other major religions soundly condemn.

What would Weird Al Yankovich do with this?

-EPISTEMOLOGY told JEW LOVER - Don't confuse me with the amputations, I've got a problem with reft and light.

-WELLINGTON told JEW LOVER - My compliments, Jew Lover. Worthy of praise, chiefly because it's true (truth being a phenomenon Muslims claim to have first possession of when, in fact, the exact opposite is the reality) but the cleverness of it all is quite laudable in its own right. Wonder if a troll will chime in with another lecture on the importance of "text and context."

-SUSANP told JEWLOVER - That was awesome! I would suggest having it recorded but who would play it?

MUHAMMADBEAR said - The people that complained are fools. How are they possibly going to stop football fans singing that. It's only going to encourage them to sing it more, and now every other football club that gets drawn against a Turkish football club will be singing songs about Mahound.

Brilliant!
-UNDAUNTED said - I think you're right.

I can't wait for the highlights on ESPN ~ maybe even an ESPY award ~ a grandstand full of brawny bad-ass Germans kicking the dog-shit out of a batch of slithering, slimy, whinin' loo-hoo-hoosers.

-HENRIKRCLAUSEN said - "How are they possibly going to stop football fans singing that?

Fear and intimidation, intimidation and fear. They'll target the leadership, of course, not the masses having a good time on the stadions.

Unfortunately, this is serious enough. They're trying to trick us into a clampdown on free expression and implementing a repressive rule in the West, by scaring our 'leaders' into it, and they're having some success. This is another test case."

============
DUTCH SOCCER TEAM AJAX PROUD TO BE CALLED "THE JEWS"

"Warm welcome for Maccabi footballers from Dutch 'Super-Jews'"
(Associated Press, Amsterdam Bureau, October 20, 2004)

Dozens of blue-and-white Israeli flags greeted Maccabi Tel Aviv as the visiting players stepped onto the field at Amsterdam's ArenA stadium. But most of the flags bearing the Star of David on Tuesday night were in the hands of Ajax supporters rooting for the home team, not for the visiting Israelis. In one of the odder quirks in the world of sporting fandom, die-hard Ajax supporters call themselves "Joden" or "Super-Joden" – Dutch for "Super Jews" – a nickname that reflects the team's and Amsterdam's Jewish roots.

... Visitors to the ArenA occasionally are surprised to hear hardcore fans belting out the Hebrew classic "Hava Nagila." The nickname for Ajax fans dates back to before World War II, when Amsterdam was home to many of the Netherlands' 140,000 Jews and the Ajax stadium was located near a Jewish neighborhood. Most Dutch Jews were killed in the Holocaust, and little remains of Amsterdam's old Jewish quarter. But the tradition survived.

... Fans of opposing teams sometimes shouted anti-Semitic slurs against Ajax, prompting Ajax fans to further embrace their "Jewishness" in stubborn defiance... Ajax managers insist there's nothing essentially Jewish about the club. The Israeli-looking flag is not the official emblem, and the team's real colors are red and white rather than Israel's blue and white. But the Star of David is popular on nonofficial club hats and scarves...

Here's the song:

The exalted verse is at about 1:40.

Gotta love that German music!!!

-BASEBALLMAVEN said - What a cheery song :-)

Hey, it's a factual statement anyway--so the islamic fun killers need to shut up

HESPERADO said - "It's unclear why the song contains the reference to Muhammad..."

Could it be because the song stems from a time when Germans, and most of the West, remembered when Muslims were the mortal enemy of the West for centuries? The last time Muslims launched a major military Jihad against the heart of Europe was not so long ago -- 1683.

-RRWEST said - They were stopped at the gates of Vienna on Sept 11 of that year.

Those who planned and executed 9/11 were well aware of that date. Most of the rest of the world were not.

History has a long memory, and Islam's leaders know when, where and who thwarted them in times long past very well. We should note those dates (in our calendar system) and pay attention very closely to what is happening just before those dates. We may be able to prevent more jihad attacks.

Kafir and proud.

-BASEBALLMAVEN told RRWEST - Very good point rrwest...wow, one hopes that the "intelligence communities" pay attention.

-EPISTEMOLOGY told HESPERADO - It's pretty clear, why that songs contains this reference to Muhammad. It's for the sake of rhyming. No hidden message there.

It's not grammatically correct, it should say Mohammed was a prophet who knew nothing about football, but "prophet" only rhymes with "versteht" "knows", the present tense.

And they wanted to mention that their colours are blue and white and the self-appointed prophet was good enough to come up with these colours.

That song is arguably silly, but it's totally innocuous.
It's only hilarious, like the songs the Rhineland people sing when they celebrate their carnival.
It was written in 1924, a time when Europeans still had a very naive attitude towards Islam.____
Unfortunately the jihad of 1683 that you mentioned was already forgotten, otherwise we would have celebrated 9/11 until 2001.

All we've got as a reminder are the croissants, the crescents, token of the moon god, that we eat. And the new jihadi era was undreamt of.

Anyway that song is only funny, but Muslims will never, ever grasp the meaning of a joke. It's the camel that goes through the needle's eye more easily and elegantly.

Maybe I should add this, Mo obviously couldn't know anything about football as it was invented much later than the "eternal" unholy Qu'ran. And football is a pretty aggressive game unlike the religion of peace (TM), totally alien to the self-proclaimed prophet.

OUTOFCONTEXT said - It seems they want to consult an "expert on Islam." May I suggest a few names: Ali Sina, Ayan Hirsi Ali, Geert Wilders, Daniel Pipes, Brigitte Gabriel, Prof. Yeor, and of course, our own Robert Spencer.

Here's their email to weigh in:

CELSIUS said - And if the fans are made of sterner stuff and carry on chanting this what exactly will the club do?

In any case, the whole point of football chants is to offend. :-)
"He shoots, he scores, he'll eat your labradors,Ji-sung Park, Ji-sung Park" (A Korean player)

This one to the tune of Lord of the Dance...
"Park, Park, Where-ever you may be
You eat dogs in your home country
But it could be worse -
You could be a scouse
Eating rats in your council house"

Oh, and quite a few ones implying any particular player's wife was "playing away from home" chanted at some random player on the pitch.

"He's fat, he's round, he bounces off the ground" was the less than respectful chant that used to greet the late Bob "where's my pension" Maxwell when he was chairman of some club.

JETCAL said - "Turkish media which said it insults the Prophet."
Simple:
- ban all Turks from Germany
- ban any Turkish Soccer Team from Germany
- ban all German teams from Turkey
- ban all Germans from Turkey
No contact, no problem.
Of course, this doesn't sort out the problems of the Turkish folks living in Germany, but I bet the Germans might have an idea or two.

RRWEST said - While Christians, Bhuddists, Hindus and Jews (among others) are killed in the name of Islam, these people are protesting the words of a football song.

Islam, at its most brain-washed and reactionary, rises to the ocassion to demonstrate its intolerance and ignorance of the world around it.

Grow up, people!

TAPPERMAN said - Mo obviously didn't know about football/soccer. So there is no insult here. It could substitute Jesus or any ancient persona and be just as true and not insulting at all.

In fact the song describes Mo as a "prophet" so if anything it's overly respectful.

Personally as a kuffar Westerner, I'm offended by the "prophet" reference. To me, Mo was a warlord, murderer, rapist, child-abuser and cult leader, not a prophet.

IMNODHIMMI said - I don't suppose Jesus knew anything about football either, but who cares?

HENRIKRCLAUSEN said - "Obvious. Since soccer (football) is good fun (to watch or to play), Mo can't have known about it. There's no joy in Islam (Khomeini)."

(END of part two of my record of original comments thread - dda).

Final part of my record of original comments thread for this article.

CELSIUS said - Perhaps if they replaced the line "Muhammad was a Prophet who knows nothing about football" with "Jesus was the Son of God and was not a paedophile who raped a 9 year old girl" that might appease them. Then again, maybe it wouldn't.

CHAMP said - (quoting) "Muhammad knows nothing about football"

The Germans were being KIND! ...imagine if they had stated that Muhammad knows nothing about freedom & fairness.

Careful champ -- there's no truth telling about Islam, otherwise Muslims might take offense.

KUFFAR said - Good luck preventing German soccer fans from singing and chanting anything they want. I can't wait to hear what they come up with after this hits the fan.

ISABELLA THE CRUSADER - Um, when aren't Muslims enraged?

Yawn.

PULSAR said - "Muslims enraged ....."

nothing new here.....

LEEVY said - Islam has to be most ugly relgion ever invented by a thief, rapist and murderer prophet . there is no joie de vivre, just hatred upon hatred. if you were a Muslim waking up everyday would be hell.
so lets help them get there.

GREATICON said - Its a insult that pedophile muhammad is linked with a beautiful game like football. Muhammadans like other things like slavery, sex slavery, wife beating, polygamy, rape, murder, honour killings, theft, pedophilia, forced marriages, torture and terrorism. Why the heck link him to football when there are so many other things he can be linked to? They are enraged for all and sundry, these scumbags.

TANSTAAFL said - Even after reading Karen Armstrong's account of Mohammed (talk about your waste of paper), I cannot imagine the prophet knowing anything about football.

BLEVIT said - I have a new favorite European Football team

GRAVENIMAGE said - More proof that there's no fun in Islam, from the Daily Mail:

"Game depicting Jesus and the Prophet Mohammed fighting is taken offline after intolerance row"

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/article...

The claim is that it "offends Muslim and Christians"--but as usual, it is only the Muslims who are complaining.

There don't seem to be any complaints from Buddhists or Hindus, either--what a surprise!

4INFIDELS said - 'Mo don't know football. Mo does know murder, rape, theft and lies...or as BHO would say, "Islam's great tradition of tolerance."
