Bangladesh: Christian convert from Islam and his family get death threats from Misunderstanders of Islam

As everyone knows, the idea that "Islam orders a violent end for those who leave the faith" is just "bigoted nonsense." Unfortunately, somehow these Muslims in Bangladesh, like so many other Muslims all over the world, have fallen prey to this bigoted nonsense, misunderstood their tolerant faith, and actually threatened to kill this Muslim who converted to Christianity. I expect that Michael Kruse and Meredith Heagney will be on the next plane to Dhaka, ready to explain to these Muslims how they are getting Islam all wrong, wrong, wrong.

"Christian convert from Islam and family threatened with death," from AsiaNews, September 30 (thanks to C. Cantoni):

Dhaka (AsiaNews) - William Gomes, a Catholic convert from Islam, is in mortal danger. For the past several days he has been the target of Muslim extremists who want to kill him because of his new faith. On 25 September he had to flee his home to escape from a group of Islamic militants who wanted to kill him and his family (wife and child), setting fire to their house. After Friday prayers at a mosque nearby, a group of fanatics had asked the leaders of their mosque to decide on the fate of the young man and the penalty to be inflicted on him.

A freelance journalist and human rights activist, married to a Catholic and father of a child, Gomes had recently received threats, but on September 25, his accusers passed from words to deeds. Led by Nazmi Mohammed Uddin Titu, a local leader of the Chatra League movement of young Muslims, a group marched on the house of the young man accused of apostasy.

The human rights activist sought police protection, but officers of the Police Commission in Jatrabri limited themselves to filing his complaint. Gomes said that the officer on duty guaranteed police intervention only after the fact happened saying he was not surprised at the anger of Muslims over his conversion....

Re: Dallas Jihadist

Hey People, wanna read something amusing?

The Dallas Jihadist's Hispanic wife, whom he married for a green card, just can't understand why her husband would want "to harm innocent people." Check it out:

http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/news/localnews/stories/093009dnmetsmadiwife.3ee4bcc.html

((close eyes tight, click ruby slipper heels three times))

"There is NO such thing as death for apostacy in Islam."
"There is NO such thing as death for apostacy in Islam."
"There is NO such thing as death for apostacy in Islam."
. . .

(repeat as needed)

Any questions?

Bangladesh: Christian convert from Islam and his family get death threats from Misunderstanders of Islam
..................

We've recently heard of cases exactly like this--apostates whose lives have been threatened by their Muslim families or neighbors--here in Bangladesh, in Afghanistan, in Pakistan, in Egypt, and--God help us--in the United States with young Rifqa Bary.

September 25? What's so special about this date? Well, it was a Friday--the Muslim "sabbath", and the most dangerous day of the week for non-Muslims in a Muslim country:

"After Friday prayers at a mosque nearby, a group of fanatics had asked the leaders of their mosque to decide on the fate of the young man and the penalty to be inflicted on him."
..................

So--what happened? Did the Imam and the mosque's congregation disabuse this "group of fanatics" of their error in thinking it was Halal to harm this man and his family? Asia News doesn't say, but from the subsequent actions of the mob in burning down the house of this apostate, it rather seems that the Imam and the congregation not only confirmed the fanatics views, but that many joined in.

This is a key issue in the Rifqa Bary case--if she is returned to Ohio, even if her family stands down on the threats to this young girl--if only due to the glare of publicity--will her family's mosque--already described as "radical"--do the same?

Or will some "devout" congregant decide to wipe the stain of apostasy from the mosque's "honor" by murdering the girl? Given that the mosque already contacted Rifqa's father with a warning of her confirmation of her conversion to Christianity, there is a real threat.

How many times have we heard this? The authorities--especially the police--who, when their own citizens turn to them for help, either ignore the threat--*or join in*.

This happens with Hindu and Christian victims in Pakistan, with Copts in Egypt, with this man in Bangladesh.

Is this a recent phenomenon? It is not. Almost a century ago, in Turkey, the Armenian population desperately turned to the Ottoman authorities for aid when they were being attacked by their Muslim neighbors.

This is when the raids--murderous but previously piecemeal and sporadic--became a full-fledged genocide, led by the police and army themselves, against what we in Infidel lands would consider their own people.

It is one of the abiding mysteries of our time, why almost all 'misunderstanders of islam' are Muslims, while the apologists for islamic violence and such misunderstandings are usually non-Muslims.

The issue of apostasy in Islam is critical to the success or failure of our struggle.

1) A tidal wave of apostasy in the coming years is the only hope of stemming the demographic ascendancy of Islam. Instead of being encouraged in Western educational and political institutions (even if subtly, such as trumpeting the remarkable pluralism in the West and our commitment to freedom of conscience), Islamic apostasy laws are - like so many other facets of Islam in our universities and newsrooms - a taboo subject.

2) This mafia-like reflex, clearly enunciated by Muhammad in several different Hadith, is a public relations disaster for Muslim apologists and dawists. It is THEE tell-tale marker that without question establishes Islam's bonafides as a totalitarian religion-ideology.

Islam's apostasy laws are at once its chief strength in keeping the faithful in the fold...and its chief weakness by exposing its grotesque, totalitarian essence. As long as the subject remains obscured and/or confused in the West, we are prevented from utilizing it to further OUR ends - exposition of Islam for the sociological evil that it is, while Muslims around the world continue to use it to further their own ends...as this poor soul in Bangladesh can readily attest to.

There is only one guilty party in the persecution of Christians in Muslim lands. That party is none other than the supposed Christian West. Muslim Aceh gets hit by a tsunami, the West gives it $50 billion, they promptly declare sharia.
Pakistan has a major earthquake, the West cannot rush in fast enough with billions in aid, the Pakistanis merrily carry on slaughtering the Christians. If all those supposed Christian countries had the balls of a flea and the backbone of a gnat they would simply say we are Christian, as long as you persecute us don't even think of getting a red penny. That is a message the Muslims will understand, giving aid without it reinforces the belief that it is nothing but jizzya. When a catastrophe hits Muslim countries, point them to the Koran, it is a Muslims duty to help his fellows.

You`ve definitely got a point "seeteufel" we are too soft and yes the muslim countries, oil-rich, should help them!!
